I got Sim Coaster thinking that it would offer tons more features than Sim Theme Park. Not really..... Stick with Sim Theme Park or better yet Roller Coaster Tycoon!!! First off you can not pick which park you want to start off with. You have to start off the park they want you to start out with, and then as you win challanges you can move on to the next park. Unlike the other games that at least give you two options to choose from. At first this did not bother me, because each park has cool different rides and shops to go with the different themes. But the enjoyment of getting to see the new rides as they were researched was short lived.....You have no time to ride the rides, design the rides, layout a beautiful park, and snoop on the guests. Why......... If you do not constanley check the status of your rides, trashes ,bathrooms, crime , etc, everything will fall apart. Thats all I was doing [checking the the status of everything, boring!!] If you like to JUST manage stuff than this game is for you. But if you are like me [enjoying the process of creating cool rides and making the park look beautiful] than you better pass.

Want to have fun with your computer-savy eight year old? This is the game for you! Personally, I would be bored by a game that was all about building the park and just watching it run. We love the interactive management; like trying to build the park and manage the money while kids are throwing up on the sidwalks (right click and call a janitor)and the entertainers are threatening to strike! When you're in the middle of building a complex curve on a roller coaster and you have to stop because you ran out of money (select from four loan options in the finance section) you are really building problem-solving skills in a very fun way. The only thing I do not like about this game is my eight-year old is so much better at the game than I am!
Great game

This game is awesome. I love playing it an I never get tired of it. I've had it for a long time now. But it recently stopped working, and now does what Sim Theme Park does; Starts and then crashes to the desktop. But other than that it's terrific.
Check system requirements.

I could not get this game to run on my computer because it is not supported by windows XP. If you use anything more current than windows 98 don't waste your money on this game.
The fun level is like a roller coaster

The fun level goes up and down on this game. The fun goes away at the last objective. IT is too hard to beat.

I bought this game and it didn't work just like sim theme park. They have to update these two games so that they will work on XP. I was very disapointed. Buy it tough if yo have 95 or 98 but not if you have XP.
I have no clue... So I'll just put up three stars..

I've never tried this game, never even heard of all these new fansy things, SimCity, SimThemePark, or whatever. The only game I have is "The Sims", which is, I'm guessing, one of the greatest games ever made. It's cool, but what does a roller coaster have to do with "The Sims"? I thought that "The Sims", was making families, making houses, and living for them, but riding a roller coaster? Ok... This makes absolutely NO sense to me whatsoever. Why would you want to even ride a roller coaster. Excuse me, it might be a great game, it's just... "The Sims" is one of the greatest ever games, and I don't think people should ruin it by trying to "fansy it up" or something... sheesh..

I bought the game thinking I'd be able to build roller coasters and have lots of fun. The only thing I did was waste my money. I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone. It is not Maxis's best game.
It's Okay

Simcoaster is pretty much the same as Sim Theme Park, but I don't think it's as good. It seems like you have to worry about stinkbombs, fire lightings, and many behavior problems. This game focuses too much on all the business elements of running a theme park. It doesn't really have to do as much with creating a beatiful theme park that you want to design. It's not like Roller Coaster Tycoon where you mainly focus on building rides and creating a park. It gets overwhelming. You open up new areas of the park and while you try and build new things you have to worry about the old areas of your park, behavior, and staff wages/happiness. At least you get the camcorder view, that's pretty cool, and you have adults and old people who don't enjoy the exciting rides as much, but plants and less exciting things. I'd still play this game, but it's just too overwhelming with all the focus on the less exciting parts of the game. I do like that you have to move up a business ladder and have tasks to accomplish to earn promotions and open up new parks, but alot of them are business-like things.
Fun at first then gets boring

This game is fun at the begining but as you get to the last objective of the game it gets boring.
