I can't say five stars, but the game is excellent. Yes, the 2-D Limited graphics are dated and primitive. The tree-removal is costly and boring. That aside, the game is fun and fairly easy. I was doing pretty well after a few weeks of attempts at the first scenario.
A flaw is that their are only a few ride choices in Thrill Rides and they are generally underrated for intensity. The Pirate Ship is probably a High Intensity.
Another flaw is the lack of more realistic rides, like a Giant Slide, or Funhouse --- things you see at the carnival. Also, the rollercoasters are primative. For some reason, the already-built ones in some of the parks are super intense yet say "High Excitment, Very High Intensity, Medium Nausea" than if you duplicate it, you get Low, ULTRA EXTREME, Very High" for the same thing! I'd call it cheating.
But the game is so excellent I can't be mean to it. The ease is incredibly, the scenarios actually achievable (but from here to the expansions and on they become totally impossible) and the pace relaxed.
I do think a park year should be Jan-Dec so you can have Holiday things. Oops! They don't have holiday rides/themes/shows -- flaw.
Splendid

This is a very good game. I used to play this game for hours on end. It's a lot of fun. The best part about it is that you don't need to have a supercomputer to play it. For those of you who's computers can't handle RCT 3, buy this game. Do Not get RCT 2, it's not worth the money to buy a slightly worse carbon copy of a great game.

It doesn't matter whether you hate sim games (I do!) This game is by far the most fun game I have played! It has an easy to use control set-up (point and click) but is deep enough to keep you playing forever! I recommend this one to anyone with a computer... The rides are awesome and can be built in any way you can imagine and the parks are so cool. Don't dare pass this one up.
I don't know what to say!

This could be the best game I have ever played.
It IS the best game for PC that I have played. Ya' like roller coasters? Ya' like thrill rides? THAN BUY THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You won't be disappointed!!!!!!!!! (At least I think you won't.)
You have 21 different parks to choose from. (you have to unlock most of them.) And if you complete them all, you unlock the mega park. I haven't done that myself yet, but I've heard that the mega park is a huge flat block of land with no objectives and all the rides. This game is undoubtably an A+.
Great game!

I have never played such an addicting game! The scenarios are different and fun, but the variety lacks. You get the same rides to choose from over and over again, and when you create your own roller coaster, your park guests become wimps and ignore it. The handymen are a pain to control since they never do their job and if you tell them to mow grass, it's all they do. Excellent for a game that came out before the year 2000.

The pictures are all realistic (except cover). Although a little less fun than claimed. It's also fun when you trap the little peps in your jails. You can get an extremely realistic looking park if you practice with it.

RollerCoaster Tycoon is the best computer game ever, in my opinion. Unlike SimCity, there is action, and you get to see what you build in use. You can custom design more than just roads, too. There is a ton of excitement and most of the time when I'm playing I'm only a couple inches from the computer screen. It's always fun to get new scenarios and rides, and you can do that .... This is the best game I have ever played.

You just won't want to stop playing this game. Like certain books, you're hooked from the very start of the game. The scenarios are actually *beatable*, after a few tries you're a third of the way through the game, but it actually advances in difficulty *at the appropriate moments*, unlike some other games I know of. Now, the most satisfying part of the game itself: Custom building your own coasters. There are so many to chose from. Inverted steel, minecar, single rail, mini steel, wooden, stand up steel, bobsled, etc. It's so appeasing when you actually see people board your coaster, then disappointing to see the real life physics algorithim sling them into oblivion, killing X amount of people. Of course, there really isn't any violence in the game besides freak accidents. Also, this game helps develop and sharpen management skills, you can do marketing campaigns, price setting, goal setting, etc. This game is the very best, top of the line. Do yourself a favor, it's appropriate for any age and rather addictive, so go buy it now.

I am a big fan of the Simms, but this game is great!!! Sure it can be easy to build the park, but make money while you are doing it is tough - Buy it for Christmas and have fun.

This game is one of the best roller coaster 'sims availible. The coaster building is a bit cunfusing and annoying at first, and the first coasters you make may be too intense, but after a while you get used to it. Some of the scenarios are too long, but great game overall.
