I bough AFDS thinking it would be like playing an interactive version of the Tom Cruise flick "Top Gun",(it's not). The objectives are extremely hard, and the gameplay just not that enthralling. My copy: collecting dust(right next to SHREK)

Let me start out by saying that the grahics in this game are fan-frikin-tastic. The planes look about as realistic as those in the movie ID4 which were all computer generated. The dog fighting is also very exciting. However, the storyline in this game is almost non-existant. Each board is the same, find a ship (building, bridge, plane) etc. and blow it up. Each mission is pretty much the same and has little to no depth or back story. It reminds me of the old flyiing games on the orignal Nintendo like 1942. The game very soon gets repetitive.

I was looking through screenshots and viewing movies on IGN.com of this game, and it just looks incredible. I'm not much of an airplain/shooter type of guy, but I'm buying this one. Check out the movies and you'll be convinced. ;)

For some reason, this game is very hard for me, but I keep coming back for more. Must be thick in the head. All arcade action, which is great, flexability in aircraft, another good thing, and arcade graphics. I have played another version of this on the DC, and never got through it, but was compelled to get it for the X-Box because it was hard on the Dreamcast, but was fun. Still is. Not for the "I want an F-16 sim on my X-Box" crowd, if such a crowd exists, but a good competitor to AC4 from PS2.

DO NOT underestimate this game

Wow. For what it was, I was expecting something reminescent of Descent, or somthing of that calliber. This simulation goes far beyond that. Totally underrated, this game has a great setup with easy controls, super-duper-realistic graphics, and a plethora of levels. This is one of my top 3 favorite games right now, and on this system that says a lot. However, I will warn you that if you play it on "Easy", it's crap. Easy only lets you use rudders, while "Difficult" allows you much more freedom of movement. This is the perfect gift for the Ice Man in every family.

I had always wanted to try Air Force Delta Storm for Xbox. So I bought it and it was bad.

My friend watch me play it for two seconds and said it was the most graphically challenged game they had ever seen for Xbox. It actually did not look a whole lot better that the originally NES! Well maybe I am over doing it a bit.

Not only last, but airplanes are supposed to roll left/right when you want to turn. On this game you steer left/right like you were driving a car!

The only positive thing I have to say about this game is the sound was pretty tight. Using the surround sound and hearing the jets go by was pretty cool.

This game is getting amazing reviews. If you like flight sims try this is will be a great title for Xbox. I toatally recomend this Game because all the game websites are giving it great reviews

I have a question for all of you guys who play xbox and other stations..I am told I am getting an x-box for Christmas..and looking forward to it..but does anybody know if a Chess game will ever be put out? With various characters, like they were playing in starwars etc? Then nobody has to worry about the game aspect per se.. because chess is one of the all time great "games" anyway..

This game is the best Fighter Plane Game out there. The graphics and detail are unbelievable. The only bad thing about the game is it doesnt show you actually breaking the speed of sound when your reach 1100 mph. I rate this game 5 stars.
