This is one excellent game considering the technology that was available at the time. This game is more realistic and funner than all of the medal of honors combined. And that is saying a lot because I am huge fan of the medal of honor series since it first hit Playstation.
Key features:
This game has some major key features that separate it from any other game. It is the ONLY WWII game I have ever heard of or seen that offers squad based gameplay. So instead of you running around doing all the work or like the case in the call of duty series in which people shoot at each other but nothing happens until you do everything. In this series however you have to command your squad to a safe area and try your best not to get any of them killed. You can have them lay down fire to suppress the enemies behind cover and then run around and flank them with another squad. The sounds and detail of the level of realism and authenticity is indescribable. This game was worth every penny of it. I think I paid only 3 dollars but I would have paid more if I knew how amazing it would be.
Cons:
When I first got it I downloaded the most recent patch I could find on a file website which I believe was patch 1.13 or something close to it. The game seemed to have trouble with the Audio and the direction the audio needed to be coming from(ex. people talking sounded as though they were behind you or next to you though they were actually standing right in front of you) which provided added difficulty when enemies were all around you I ended up having trouble finding them and died a lot. Also I had frequent memory dunps which is weird because I have a PC powerful enough to play Call of Duty 4 at maximum resolution and settings with no lag. So I did some tweaking to my CPU and reversed the flow of my fans and also re installed the game but this time I only got the most recent patch that was available on the game makers website which I believe was only patch 1.3 or something like it and I havent had any problems thus far.
Definitely worth the money and I would recomend every play it while they still can because all the Brothers In Arms games are tied together and the 3rd one comes out soon. So please play them, and play them in order!

I like the game and it adds some different things compared to COD and MOH if your familar with...its not as fast moving imo, but close... you'll need more patience here compared, to succeed ....
I like the fact of watching and taking care of your squad it makes the game a bit more personal and maybe more realistic but i think its a notch or 1/2 notch below COD and MOH overall though maybe its because i'm more familar with them, but its not below in all aspects.....
Its a good game and worth looking into..
You won't be disappointed in the game imo,but THE MISSIONS SEEM SHORTER , you don't have surgeon packs laying around to heal you and you will have to put more into the game as in attacks, controling your men and YOURSELF to accomplish missions...
Overall its a good game , their is some LANGUAGE in this game adding to the different aspect of things but more realistic i would say...
Good game and complements MOH and COD though the same in some aspects, different in some too..
Played demo bought the game.

Played the demo liked it so I had to buy the game, even bought Earned in Blood to go with it. Don't like having to play through then start over on a different difficulty level. Overall game was great.
Dull and repetitive

The good news is this game only cost about 5 dollars. Other than that, not much good to say. On the good side, the graphics are very well done, with attractive rendering and details, and nice iron sites on the weapons.
The bad:
The enemy doesn't move too much, except when they are scripted to do so. You can sit forever in one position and keep shooting or just hide - they will never come look for you.
So far (I have gotten about half way through the game) you don't get to drive vehicles, fly planes, etc. Compared to BF and Medal of Honor, this is a disappointment.
As other reviews said, you basically just shoot and move. This gets rather repetitive very quickly, especially since the computer seems to just sit around (though perhaps that's my difficulty level).
The missions are basically get from point A to B, by flanking.
For 5 dollars this game is fine, but I wouldn't spend much money or time on it overall.

I bought this game hoping that it would be similar to Call of Duty and Medal of Honor but I was very disappointed. It is not a terrible game, but it is just too complicated. There are so many different controls, which I thought might be pretty cool, but in the end it was more frustrating than fun.
At first I thought it was pretty good; good graphics and it pulled me in with the game play. But soon I was having to check the manual for what controls to use every couple minutes. In all fairness I may have not given the game a fair chance. But when there are games like MOH and COD out there why waste time with a steep learning curve game? Your mileage may vary, but that is my two cents.

This game is a breath of fresh air when it comes to the WW2 games, COD2 is the BEST as far as fun and memorable play, MOH is a little more realistic than COD in my opinion and BIA seems the most realistic tactically but is centered around only the flanking maneuver which gets boring and the levels blend into one big European countryside. Overwhelming tank/artillery force and troop numbers are something that is not there, and the air war/power is non-existent here as well. I think using all of those more interactively would have made a great difference, in COD you can call in artillery strikes, in MOH you actually fly the planes at points. Get rid of the monotonous environments and put more of that in please, although I didn't see it in EIB.
I never used the overhead map option, it does add some strategy to it but did the real guys have that? Nope, it takes you out of the flow of the game too much. I'm here for fun only.
I like the interaction and use of the tank and the sound is awesome. Yes the aiming is frustrating but I don't think any one is that accurate during real war period, unfortunately the Germans seem to be marksman at all levels, but it gets MUCH worse as you replay on the higher difficulty levels, although the Germans were dug in well when the Allies got there.
And the idea that the Germans seem to think you are target number one no matter what is ludicrous, I should be able to send 2 groups on 2 different flanks to hit or distract units and then be able to snipe with a Kar 98 from the center without being shot at by everyone, don't get me started on the me Vs. Panzer with a panzerfaust, what about your teammates grabbing a couple as well to triangulate fire?
This series doesn't give you the feeling of being a part of a larger army like COD does and I don't like it. Being in a group of about 10-15 bots and never meeting up or being a part of a large army group seems unrealistic for regular GI's, only commandos would be so isolated and small in my opinion. The story I mostly tune out of and gets overly serious and has long scenes, I'll watch Flags or Ryan if I want that.
I have to say I enjoyed the game, but am glad I paid current prices only for it. I played it through a couple times so it was a good value, but the replayability pales in comparison to COD. This is a fresh game in terms of the WW2 genre and should not be missed but it does have it's flaws, but I could write a similar review of the other WW2 franchises outlining their flaws as well so try all of them.

This is a review for all those guys that give this game a bad rating for antipiracy software ubisoft puts in. The reason you're having a problem more then likely is because you're using a DVD RW drive to load the game, you need to use a normal CD or DVD combo drive for installing the game. Ubisofts antipiracy software reads you have the game put into a DVD RW drive and it thinks you're trying to bootleg it, which in most cases people probably are. Farcry had the same thing and even most DVD movies have that to now a days. If you're a seriose desktop gamer you should have a primary CD/DVD drive and SECONDARY DVD/RW drive anyway, if you don't get one and stop crying about it.
This game has so so graphics, I wasn't blown away as much as I was with farcry when it came out but it was alright, I was mainly in it for gameplay and story. The voice overs leave little to be desired but watch Band of Brothers if you want an all star well scripted thing to watch. I'm into brothers in arms for the action and the squad control aspect which is really nice and innovative.
Kudos to ubisoft for making a secure and innovative game

I don't seem to understand why you can't play this game on your CD-ROM instead your dvd-rom?
