This item arrived in a timely manner. My grandson loves the game. This is the first time I've ordered merchandise this way and I'm very impressed. Thanks

A game that will definately show you a good time...

What can I say? Smash Bros. is just an awesome game. This is the only game you can get where all of your favorite Nintendo characters come together on one screen and battle it out. I recommend calling over 3 more of your buddies and playing it because this game is nuts when 4 players go head to head.

Overall I give Mario Smash Bros. 4 stars. I took off a star because after you obtain the 4 missing characters, the game is basically over. You can still battle with your friends, but like most games, it starts to get old after a while. I recommend it for ages 5 - 15.

Fun Fun Fun!

I love Super Smash Bros! It's a lot of funt to get your friends and bash them off the edge of Hyrule Castle or Congo Jungle! While teh graphics aren't as good as they are in other games, the amount of fun you have when you're playing it sure does make up for it! This is a game worth your time... Oh yeah... and Link is the best one.

Very good

This game is fast-paced, amazingly funny, and just plain fun. There's a lot of replay value, and it's dang fun to play with 4 people. Lots of strategy, too, altough it has been called "shallow" by many. The only problem is that there is one cheap character - Yoshi, and many cheap items. By cheap I mean that it imbalances the game, and leaves more to chance than skill. Fortunately, these things can be avoided via options in the game, so I'm A-OK with it.

Originality, characters kids know makes for a fun game

A whole new level of fighting is introduced as Nintendo favorites are brought into the fighting arena for a Mortal Kombatish fighting game. This game does offer great originality, but not much challenge nor gameplay. The plus is that every kid 14 and under knows every single character (Mario, Link, Donkey Kong, Pikachu, Samus, Yoshi, Kirby, Fox McCloud), so it is easy to pick up, because kids have played the games that these characters are from. The other thing you will appreciate about this game is that it is very detailed in the fact that every character has their trademark weapons and maneuvers, such as Link's hook shot, Pikachu's lightning, Samus wave beam and much more! The final plus is there are several modes of gameplay, 2 on 2, 1 on 1, 1 on 3, 3 on giant 1, 1 on a whole team. The real downfall is there is not much gameplay, because it does not take after the same button configuration as Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat, so there is a whole new button configuration to learn. Such as one button is to fire a gun, another is to attack, another button is to jump. Finally, there is no defined status or health bar so it is difficult to see who is even winning!

good, but not the best...

This game has a goood 2 player mode but the 1st player mode is poor. The game seems like it was rushed and never finished. One of the characters on the 1st player ladders is fighting polygons. Just monotoned polygone that attack you. The graphics are below adverage for N64 games. Each character has 2 special moves. I was disapointed and would not buy this game.

Platform jumping? In a fighting game? Geez. I'm all for innovation, but if I want platform jumping, I'll plug in Mario World. The idea of knocking opponents off a ledge is interesting, but it's just annoying after awhile since many a time it can happen by luck, or by accidentally running off a cliff while trying to adjust to this game's incredibly touchy play control. Using the analogue stick? The analogue is a tool used for 3D games. Using it for 2D just makes it confusing. The controls? They're easy to figure out (which I guess is good since this game IS for younger audiances) but I find it a little shallow. There's no challenge in it. Unless you consider trying to get control of your character a challenge. The play control is way to touchy, and that paired up with the analogue stick and the dizzy and confusing camera angles...makes you wanna reach for a barf bag. The camera should scroll with the characters, not fly all over the place like the operator's sneezing or something.

Overall, Smash Brothers is dissapointing. Innovative, yes, but not all change is good. I'll admit the graphics are very cool, but the good stuff ends there. If you want a real tournament fighting game, try something with a degree of depth, like Mortal Kombat. The controls require some reflexes, but hey: if you don't have 'em, you shouldn't be playing video games.
