This game was my favorite game for maybe a year when I was younger. The graphics are about average for a n64, but it is way more fun than the average n64 game.

You have about 5 or 6 different fun/funny levels, and you can unlock different beetle's(including the tye dye alien bug).

I spent more hours on this than I would normally admit to, and would recomend it to any racing genre fan.

A LONG-LOST FUN RACER 7.25 OUT OF 10

I got this game years ago for Christmas, I don't play it much but it does deliver what it's supposed to: a fun casual racing game. The stages and vehicles you unlock in the game are actually pretty cool and have many unique designs to them. The racing never really feels tedious, and has the usual fun, arcade-style racing. It never gets old to watch your VW bug shatter to pieces when it flips over or goes over a cliff. There are numerous passageways in the stages which manages to keep things fresh and entertaining. Why a 7.25 rating? The music is the biggest draw and flaw of the game because it's very boring to listen to(So just listen to your own music when playing this game), and the controls feel a bit glitchy during certain segments of the game. But, this game does offer a nice form of entertainment for an afternoon or a few hours of playing the game. If you like out of the ordinary racers Beetle Adventure Racing is for you.

A great find...

Ive only been playing B.A.R. for a few weeks & I have now purchased a 2nd copy in case the 1st one dies of old age.
It really is a lot of fun with great graphics, cool tracks with hidden shortcuts, wild jumps & great handling.
I also purchased an Ultra Racer 64 controller for pennies on Amazon, cuz its easier for me to use with its steering wheel than the small toggle that comes with the N64 controller.
There are plenty of Game Shark codes for this game too.
Overall, this is a great game for all ages, for single players or multiplayers & there is no cussin', killin' or flashin'!
You can play this game with your buddies or with your mother & still have a great time.

this game is the best game i have ever played and i am obsessed with it. Not only is the game itself addicting, the music is amazin. I could literally sit and listen to it all day. You think it is the same song over and over again, but then it just changes so unexpectedly. Sometimes i casually dance to the music when i am resting in between beetle battle games. I definetely recommend this game!!!

Beetle Adventure Racing is a fun racing game for all ages. The graphics are amazing for a Nintendo 64. The Championship mode is a little to easy though. But I really love the Beetle Battle mode, especially with four players. It deserves 5 stars by far. It is a game well worth the money. It will keep you entertained for hours played levels, earning cars, and much more.

Not hard, not easy, lost of fun

This is a racing game for anyone, and it features only the new version of the best selling car of all time, the Volkswagen Beetle. It is a great game, with different difficulty levels in the championships, challenging opponents, and progressively harder courses. This is also a great game for multiplayer, with the very original and fun "beetle battle"

Courses:

Coventry Cove: A simple course for beginners, not very hard, and many interesting shortcuts

Mount Mayhem: Significantly harder than Coventry Cove, this course takes you on a trip through a decked-out mountain, with many surprises and shortcuts and even a ski jump that you can take your car off of.

Inferno Isle: Self Explanitory. It's a course taking place on an island that is competing with a volcano, and there is also a spot where you can dive into the volcano (not into the lava, of course, but into the volcano for that matter)

Sunset Sands: Egyptian themed course, running through ruins. Unlike the other courses, this one has shortcuts that make a very significant difference in your position.

Metro Madness: also Self-Explanitory. A drive through the city streets at top speed, and an interesting shortcut that literally lets you drive through a hotel.

Wicked Woods: A "scary" drive through a Sleepy Hollow style setting. Rightfully, the hardest course in the game.

Altogether, I think that this is a game for anyone into the Volkswagen Beetle, racing games, or multiplayer. It combines the best interests of all elements of the racing game.

one of the best 64 games made

I recently picked this game up used, and I am glad I did. Despite the fact that the Nintendo 64 seems like an antique system, this is one of those well-done games that stands the test of time.

Basically the only 2 games I have been playing are the PS2 titles Hawk 4 and Vice City. But since I picked up Beetle Racing, that one has racked up quite a bit of playing time as well. For Beetle to be compared with those 2 games must tell you something.

Despite the gimmicky-appeal of the new Beetle being the centerpiece for a video game, make no mistake, Beetle Racing succeeds in every way possible. The graphics, play control, fun factor, sound, and replay value all measure up, even against the newer products on the market.

You may have a difficult time finding this game since the 64 is an obsolete system, but if you do, pick it up.

THERE ARE SIX LONG TRACKS TO RACE ON. I'VE ONLY SEEN FOUR.. COVENTRY COVE, MOUNT MAYHEM, INFERNO ISLE & SUNSET SANDS. THE TRACKS I HAVE YET TO PLAY ARE.. METRO MADNESS & WICKED WOODS. MY FRIENDS AND I LOVE THIS RACING GAME. IT IS WELL MADE, NICE LOOKING & EASY TO CONTROL. YOU MUST BEAT THE INDIVIDUAL TRACKS ON CHAMPIONSHIP MODE FOR THEM TO APPEAR ON SINGLE RACE & TWO PLAYER MODES. I LOVE THE BOOST BOXES, THE SHORT CUTS, THE CAMERA OPTIONS & BEETLE BATTLE MODE. IF YOUR LOOKING FOR A QUAILITY RACING GAME AT A NOW AFFORDABLE PRICE.. "BEETLE ADVENTURE RACING" FOR YOUR N64 IS AN EXCELLENT CHOICE.

BEST RACING GAME EVER!

When I purchased this game I didn't know what to expect. A friend had recommended the game to me and I took his word on it. When I played the game for the first time, I was amazed! This game is a step ahead of all other racing games and it has kept me entertained for hundreds of hours and counting. Reasons for you to get this game:

1. Exciting course themes- Fly through cources with UFO crashes, T-Rex attacks, haunted houses, abandoned castles, and much, much more!
2. Length of courses- Don't play this game expecting to finish a race in 5 minutes. These courses are 3 laps each and will take over 8 minutes to finish the race.
3. Secret shortcuts- I had this game for 3 months and I was still discovering new shortcuts. These are hidden behind bushes, glass, up jumps, and hidden in tiny gaps. These entertaining shortcuts can take minutes off your race time- if you can find them...
4. The Beetles themselves- You start with 3 cars but as you complete championships you can earn faster cars with designs like racing stripes, lightling bolts, and flowers. The final championships promise prizes such as the alien car and the best car in the game- the police car Beetle. For amusement, beep the horns on these cool VWs.
5. Amusing items- When playing in championship mode, crash through colored boxes for points, turbos, and, if you can find the flower boxes, cheat options. The point boxes can earn you continues and bonuses.
6. Multiplayer action- Break out your other controllers and gather your friends for the muliplayer options. Compare your skills in a simple race or, for the ultimate in multiplayer entertainment- the Beetle Battle. The object of this game is to collect all of the different-colored ladybug boxes. Fans of Mario Cart will love items like rockets, armor, and mines to help you blast your buddies. You can switch to one of the other multiple courses available when tired of one.

I can only hint at the immense entertainment this will give you. To experience it for yourself, you need to get this game. Gamers of all ages will love this zany game. Nobody can resist the fun that this game offers. Buy it yourself to buy hours of wild gaming excitement.
