Great Game! Gotta have it.

If you are a fan of racing games, then Beetle Adventure Racing is for you. With it's addictive gameplay and fun multiplayer, Beetle Adventure Racing is the way to go. There are plenty of shortcuts to take to speed ahead of you opponent. Make sure you have a memory card for this game so you can save your hard work.

Once you beat a difficulty level in champianship mode, you will get more cars. Ones that go way faster and have better handling and acceleration.

Beetle Adventure Racing is a must have.

This is a really fun game! Except it only has 6 different race tracks. Although each race track is absolutely huge and heaps of fun, it is disappointing that their is only 6. Other racing games have more tracks (Mario Kart, Top Gear) but all of Beetle Adverture Racing's tracks are massive and have many massive shortcuts which will take time to find. The multiplayer section is heaps of fun, I found definately in the top 10 multi-player games on N64! I recommend you hire this game before you buy it. Some will love it, others will hate it!

Beetle Bash!

My wife and I first rented this title and came to the immediate conclusion to buy it. Racing die-hards may be a bit disappointed with the game play, but the scenery is top notch. I only wish that all race courses were available, instead of having to master old courses to unlock new ones. Beetle Bash is a real hoot. A friend and I find that watching our wives try to blow each other up is almost more satisfying than playing against each other.

Perfect blend of cartoon and realism racers

Beetle Adventure Racing is a superb game. The gameplay is easy to get used to, and the tracks really transcend the normal idea of a racing track and move more towards being a world. While there are only 6 tracks, the depth of them with all the shortcuts and breakables really eliminate boredom factors.

In addition to that great single player mode, multiplayer mode is a lot of fun too. While blowing up friends a la MarioKart's battle mode is fun, Beetle Adventure Racing really adds a brilliant feature by adding small beetle icons that appear in the arena in pre-determined places. Only one beetle icon is in the arena at any given time, and when it's picked up, a new one appears. The cool part is that the goal is to pick up 6 different colored beetle icons and the beetle changes color every few seconds. This allows for some real strategy in terms of waiting for the beetle to turn to a color you need while balancing it with fending off your opponent from getting the icon.

There are a few drawbacks to this game, however. My primary beef is with the battle mode arenas. In the single player game there are 100 bonus points on each track and if you collect them all, you get a new multi-player track. Unfortunately, this is not a trivial task, and can get rather tedious. In addition, most of the multi-player tracks I've unlocked are pretty simplistic. One multiplayer track, Stadium, is very good, but it would have been nice to see the others live up to the elaborate landscape that this track and the single-player tracks display.

However, this is a minor drawback, as the single player game is still loads of fun, and the multiplayer game is certainly better than most.

An excellent racing game

I enjoy this game more than "Mario Kart 64". The courses are beautiful with plenty of hidden surprises. Its an easy game to learn right out of the box. My only problem with the game is that you must earn access to four or the six race courses and six of the nine battle arenas.

This game is fun but it gets old after a while. The tracks are very cool, but you are only given two to start with. Then you have to play those tracks over and over to get any more. If you are good at racing you will like this. I am not so this was difficult. The beetle battle modes are fun too. If you are not a good race driver you may find this a little difficult. The cars are really neat though. If you want to have fun playing tracks over and over, you should get a memory card.

This is a really well done racing game, and it features the new beetle as the main attraction. Once you get past the gimmicky quality of VW's new vehicle, you'll find a quality racing game with lots of personality.

The graphics are top notch.

Buy this game!

One would never think

It was really astonishing that a bettle could move the way it does on this game. It is action packed with new features all the time. You can design your car as you go along in the game, and one would never think a bettle could move so fast. I have enjoyed playing the game and recommend anyone who enjoys racing to try this one

This is definetly the best racing game on the N64.It is a mix of Goldeneye(Beetle Battle) And maybe San Francisco Rush. The grphics match up with Gran Turismo for the Playstation. You have to admit, racing 7 other computer players, all driving beautifully colored beetles, it pure fun. The tracks are beautiful, and on "Inferno Isle," when you are in the jungle part, a Tyrannosauros Rex jerks its head out of the trees and roars at you. The first time it happens, some people fall down, because it comes totally unexpected. You even get a beetle that changes color as you race. If you totall beat the game, you get a police beetle, that can make other cars pull over. There is even a cheat menu. Pros:great graphics, gameplay, and cars.Huge world to race in, will take a while to get everything. CONS:Final tracks can be very hard to beat. You have to race a lot to get all the cars. Needs memory card. If you liked Goldeneye, San Francisco Rush, and Star Wars:Episode 1 Racer, then you'll love this game. I have 8 words: STOP READING NOW AND GO GET THIS GAME!
