LOVE Pets, it is one of the coolest expansions I have, you can create a cat or dog, have a bird or hamster, you can teach them tricks, walk them, there is a werewolf in this game though I have seen the dog he has to bite you to change you and he likes me. Love the SIMS

Finally, pets that stay alive, learn, and earn money! I love SIMS and SIMS 2 and both my daughter and I enjoy having pets added to our SIMS families. I thought there was plenty of the information included.

Sims is great!

Creating pets is a nice addition to the game. Its also pretty fun being able to have a parrot or hamster (although you have to feed them a ridiculous amount of times during the day, or they keel over dead). This much, you probably know from reading the title.

The problem with the game, is this is really all there is too it. Yes, some new items are added, but really the only new game play features are the pets. So, its just alright. Yes, the pets are cute and fun, but they get old after a while, and without other new components, its not really that worthwhile unless you REALLY want the pets.

Also, just as a side note, the ability to have a puppy or kitten is pretty frustrating. You can't just buy a puppy or kitten from the store, nor can you create one yourself - you will either need to breed them, or adopt what few there are. there are only a few premade ones, that don't seem to be replenished. Choices are limited for adopting. For instance, there are only three kittens to adopt (which all look the same). The only way to add more kittens to the adoption pool is to raise two cats, have them have kittens, and give those up for adoption. In my book, thats kinda a chief flaw for a game that centers on the pets.

A great expansion pack!

This is a great expansion pack! with it you can pick a cat or dog from dozens of breeds, or create your own breed with the same detail that you create a sim! the personality is a bit simpler than a sim's, but that's to be expected, of course. You can't control them but you can make your sims teach them different commands like come here, sit up, roll over, eat, sleep... you can also tell them when something that they're doing is wrong so that they won't do it again, like tearing up the furniture or getting up on the counter and eating sim food (yes, cats do that!) Personally, I think that it's more realistic for you not to be able to control pets and your sims can only start to control them gradually. Ther's tons of new objects in this expansion pack, from pet houses, pet bowls, and pet toys, to new doors, carpets, windows and much more! There's two new building tools that are very convenient: The sledgehammer tool (that can erase anything no matter what it is) and the Flatten Lot tool, that makes the whole lot flatten itself to the level of the street.

On the whole, a very fun expansion pack! I recommend it.

A great gift

This software was purchased as a gift for my granddaughter and was a big hit. We lost track of her for a while and soon found her enjoying her Sims 2 Pets. In her words, "Cool!"

Thank you for a great product!

Somewhat disappointing

The Pets expansion pack is not much of an expansion. You get an animal whose best assets are some fictional ability to go to work each day. Sort of like a Sim but with 4 legs and about the same un-discernable language as typical of a Sim. Pets kept me interested for a few hours a day over a week. My cat became an actor. He became breadwinner. It was great. Then he died. But then so did my interest in the game. If you are quick with games, wanting to finish goals and WIN: Pets may bore you. If you are a longtime fan who collects these games and has a budget for expansion packs, this ones for you.

best ever!

My daughter loves Sims 2 pets! She likes to mix two animals together and see what she comes up with. If your child loves animals and computers this is the perfect gift!
