difficult but fun

This is a fun shooting game: You have a number of missions flying your viper against waves of cylon fighters and attacking cylon base ships, as well as operating the guns on the Galactica herself. The missions are multi-stage and tend to be very difficult, requiring frequent restarts. The game is all about flying and shooting as fast as you can. There are some cut scenes which unfortunately are rather shallow. This is a fun game for a fan of the series, but lacks the depth of games like Star Wars KOTOR.

Great game for outer space shoot'em up junkies and fans of the series alike.

This game is flat out awesome, and it get's even better once you master all the controls. There are a ton to get used to, but they are set so that once you get the hang of them you can pull off all the cool little jukes and rolls effortlessly. I love the instant u-turn manuver, it's great for evading and retaliating. 1 problem I do have however are the stupid battlestar missions where you get stuck manning the turrets of BSG. You have no control over the ship at all, just the cannons (which you can switch back and forth from) but there is one in particular where you have no viper support at all and it seems like it's up to you and only you to take out an entire psylon fleet along with a space station they have which completely dwarfs the battlestar galactica. I died so many times here it was driving me insane. When I finally did make it through though, instead of letting me just go until the blasted thing was destroyed in made 2 passes and then I got a message about how we failed and have no choice but to retreat. It was extremely aggravating to say the least. I still haven't managed to beat the thing, but I do enjoy popping the game in to blast though some of the other levels again.
I'd give the game a 5 star rating, but the difficulty curve is just too dramatic, and the pacing isn't all that great either. One level will be a breeze to plow through, and the next will have you needing to retry over and over because it'll be just too demanding, then it's back to walking through the park. Still despite it's few flaws it is a pretty solid game, and the graphics and controls are awesome.

I like the game it reminds me of the old tv. show in some ways

I would tell people if they liked the old and new show.Buy this game its fun and hard not easy but you will like.

ITS A MUST FOR ALL BATTLESTAR GALACTICA FANS, IT RUNS ON XBOX 360 SMOOTHLY, ITS A MUST IF YOU LOVE THE OLD AND NEW SERIES, THE GAME ITS A LITTLE BIT HARD BUT AFTER A FEW HOURS YOULL GET THROUGH THE MISSIONS.

I DO RECOMMEND IT, FROM AMAZON??? BETTER!!!!

This has to be the best spacey shootemup ever.
Keep the kids or the galactica fan out of your hair this christmas by plugging the ps2 or xbox in loaded with battlestar galactica.

Control is excellent, game play is smooth. It's like going back in time to the 70's and being part of the TV show, but better.

This game is excellent especially if you were a fan of the original tv series back in 1979/1980.

Game engine and graphics are very fluid and the sounds are exact to the series. Sound nice through surround sound. Very fast pace with a lot going on at once. At times overwhelming to say the least.

I have two complaints. Game is a prequel to the original tv series (I dont know about you but....im kinda getting tired of prequels) so you cant play as Starbuck or Apollo. My second complaint is that this is not avalible for the PC :(

You can play from inside the cockpit, So it feels more like a Sim then arcade. In 1980 I was 10 years old. I have been waiting 23 years old to fly one of these babies!! Game is must have for any true fan!

This is quite frankly one of the worst game purchases I've ever made. I'm sure the game designers can play this game -but unless you want to spend endless hours learning the simpliest of features skip this title. The most minimum of user testing should have exposed this title's weaknesses.

I was looking forward to this game since I was a fan of the show when it first aired. I expected a progression of difficulty as the missions progressed but it was difficult from the initial mission. Does the game have any savepoints?

Just played the first few missions and I love the game. Gameplay is smooth and graphics are excellent. The cut scenes add nicely to the game. Some of the music is taken right from the series and sounds great!
If you liked BattleStar in the 70's get this game. If you like good Space combat Sims.. get this game!
