Bought this for my 8 year old grandson. He was mildly entertained by it and had to be encouraged to play it instead of other more exciting games. However, his 30-something mom loved it. He often has to get his DS away from her, especially on car trips. May have to get Mom her own DS for Christmas or something!
Addicting but very entertaining

I kept hearing how great this game was so I bought it. It's definitely addicting, especialy Sudoku, which I was already addicted to before buying the game. But doing the same training games everyday gets kind of old, as does the explanations of how to play EVERY TIME. I keep playing every day so I can try and unlock new games and play the ones I actually do enjoy. But I wouldn't necessarily recommend this game to others like it was for me. I guess it all depends on your personality...
A cute way to pass the time...

Brain Age DS is a cute way to pass the time and train at the same time. I am terrible in math and this is an excellent way for me to sharpen my math skills. I started off with 80 as my brain age and then within a few days I'm down to 32. How exciting. I know I have improved after practicing daily.
There are several training games in there and you get to unlock some training games as you pass some of them. There is a speaking color test, counting test, math, reading, and memory tests. It has a nice variety. Up to 4 people can use/save this game and we all can compare our scores!
Sudoku is great on there if you don't feel like doing some training on there. It tracks your mistakes and how long it takes you to complete it. Neat.
It is also great for kids as well as they love challenging themselves. (Kids who can do the multiciplation tables)
I am not sure about long term of this game though. After about a month, it probably gets repetitive and boring. I've only had it for a week so far.
Hours of fun

I love using my Brain Age game. The games are fun and quick. I love to do Sudoku puzzles and there are many of them. I love to do brain age checks to see if I am still at the top of my game.
Excellent game!

I purchased this game for my husband's 58th birthday and he loves it! It was the perfect gift as not only is he
the only one playing it but our 2 young boys age 13 and 8 are also playing the game everyday for brain training. I have shown it to several friends and they are ready to purchased the game for themselves! It's a fun and challenging game especially for the person who is hard to shop for or for the one who has everything. Great gift idea!
Older than I thought!

Game is fun to do and it's even better when you've made progress and reduced your "brain" age. I didn't realize there was a timer when I first started - which I think was intentional to increase your "age".
Takes little time and is fun.
Enjoyable, also check out Big Brain Academy

A good variety of exercises. Sudoko games included are a real plus for Sudoko fans. Getting past the "comments" can become a bit tedious. The tests and practice sessions are timed so they are best done when you can focus without distractions. Give the Big Brain Academy a try, too. It's also quite good and has many, totally different exercises.
A BIT DISAPPOINTING

From all the ads on television and all the rave reviews that this game received, I just had to have it as well.
Some things about it I like, such as the idea of doing daily puzzles ... but some things are very frustrating and annoying.
The frustration comes in the fact that you are expected to drill the math problems extremely fast. Writing so quickly and not having the system recognize the number will count as an error even though you wrote down the correct answer. My writing is extremely clear and legible, but many times the game didn't recognize it correctly.
I, like others, found the comments extremely annoying. I didn't care for the childish admonishments. I understood that this game was geared for adults. I don't think adults need to be told to get sleep or to eat regular meals ... please.
I don't think I'll be keeping this game. It is going to find its way to Game Stop as a trade-in very soon.
I'm a bit let down as I really wanted to like this game.
Would Be Better If...

... the stupid game could tell the difference between a 4, an 11 and a 9 and not see an "x" where I write in a "y." Apparently, I am an idiot because I spell "kick" as "xlcx" and keep saying 2+2 = 11 and 2+2 = 9. Overall the game is enjoyable and I would actually give it 5 stars if not for this idiotic hand writing thing.
Great training, expect major improvement in memory, etc

It's a little scary when you first find your brain age, but also motivating. There is a guide who talks to you and explains each training excercise well. Then he comments on your progress and gets a little silly. The farther you go in training the more programs he adds. Each one works you in a different way, and I love it. Also, the training programs are still GAMES, just good for you! I love feeling like I'm doing something GOOD for my brain, and boy, I need it! So if you feel that way too, just get it and see for yourself. Well done, great program. I want everyone I know to use it!
