I eventually burnt out on the daily exercise (like real-world exercise) but only after a month of training, which is more than most 'games' I buy, so that's not bad.
Even so, I still play the game for sudoku - it's a great interface and really easy to get into.
Worth picking up used, but not new

This is a pretty fun game, and at the time it was released, the best of it's ilk. It's since (imo) been surpassed by the likes of Big Brain Academy, which really takes the genre a lot further in terms of multiplayer and content.
Love it!

I LOVE this game! It took me a while to actually buy it, I myself being one of the people who thought "educational video games...no way!" But I am SO glad I did. As you play through you unlock more mini-games to train your brain, and other fun things as well! There are tons of sudoko puzzles to play also! You can test your brain age once a day, and the tests are always different and fun. The only negative thing I can say is that my brain age is never steady! Sometimes it will be in the 20's (20 is the lowest and best brain age) and the next day it will be in the 50's! However, that just makes me play it more! The microphone almost always picks up exactly what I am saying, and there are many games that utilize this cool feature. The only bad thing I have to say is that the game seems to have a slower clock than what really exists, and because you can only do each game or brain age check once a day, you can't play them as often. But even so, this game rocks!
FORGET FOCUS FACTOR, THIS IS THE REAL DEAL.......Improves concentration, helps support healthy brain function

I am so happy that Nintendo came up with a game that I can play without me worrying about wasting time. In this game, you will go through a Daily Training. This Daily Training does help stimulate your brain so you are more focus, alert, and clear in your judgment. Math problems and reading are just a few parts of the Training. I personally like the Math challenges because I truly believe it works your memory like no other. I used to have problems articulating what I have in mind. Lately, I've noticed I don't stutter as much and people now find logic at to what I have to say. You need to purchase this game if you are in for a tenacious cognition. Having Brain Age will help you in getting all the knowledge you have stored in your brain to use! Remember that Brain Supplement FOCUS FACTOR? This is the safe alternative to that medication. BRAIN AGE IS THE ONLY BRAIN SUPPLEMENT YOU'LL EVER NEED.

Brain Age Train you Brain is a game in which you do math, sylubale counts, reading aloud and other fun things. In the game you do this and more while trying to deacrease you brain age. The lower that the age is the healther it is. While doing the certain challenge you are being timed and given a certain speed. The fastest speed that you can aqurie is Jet Speed which is EXTREMLY hard to get and the slowest is the walking speed. My personal favorite thing about the game is that you can play for 5 minutes and feel that you accomplished something. The problems with game is that the voice reconition quality is fair. Its not great but its also not terrible. And the writing reconition can be flakey at times too. But after playing this game for about a month you get tired of playing the same thing over and over. Still it is one of the best games on the DS and the $20 price tag is just icing on the cake.
Fun for a few days, but wears off quickly (except maybe sudoku)

I wonder how many of those who call this "fun, fun, fun!" actually played it for more than a couple days, because if they had, they probably would have run out of interest after a week or so.
This game claims to improve your brain power (but, alas, it says nothing about your IQ at all.) Your brain power is measured in "brain age," with 20 being the best. The lower your brain age, the better. (Mine, by the way, is 20.)
How it does this is through two parts: a daily training regimen, and three levels of sudoku puzzles. (BTW, did you know that sudoku was actually invented by an American, but it became popular first in Japan hene the Japanese name?) Along the way, you can check your brain age by doing three randomly picked (out of 5 or 6) tests.
The daily training involves a total of 9 exercises, 3 of which are available at the beginning. As you progress, you unlock more exercises (as well as different difficulty levels for some). Some of these exercises are really boring, like doing simple arithmetic calculations. Others, like counting people in a house, can be fun for a few days but then get boring. Overall, I think your interest will be piqued but probably won't last.
The sudoku puzzles are arranged into three difficulty levels, the first two of which are available in the beginning. If you are into sudoku, here you can solve dozens of them.
In the end, I think Brain Age is a curious non-traditional game. It can be fun for a few days, and it may improve your power marginally. But its novelty factor is bound to wear off quickly -- not the least due to the annoying annimations of its creator peppered throughout the game. (He says the same boring stuff each time you turn on the game.) Graphics and sound are nothing to write home about.

I purchased this game for my grandson, but have found that the entire family has so much fun trying to beat our daily brain age that it is a must for every family.
Too Many Cons.

I purchased Brain Age after having a lot of fun with Big Brain Academy.
Some of the games in Brain Age are both amusing and challenging, but there were simply too many negatives for me to really enjoy myself.
1.) For the math section, Brain Age requires you to write the answers out instead of punching them in. When time is a factor, you're not going to write as neat as you normally would. Especially when you're using a stylus. As a result, the game often misreads answers. This is extremely frustrating.
2.) I found the guide in the game to be extremely annoying and wish he would have gone away. The DS is also held at a completely different angle, which isn't a big deal but I didn't see the purpose in it.
3.) Some games need to be unlocked by playing available puzzles first. I understand this when playing other video games, but I don't see the point in this context.
If you're trying to decide between Brain Age and Big Brain Academy, Big Brain Academy is much better choice. There is more variety and it uses a better system of measurement than "age".

great game; has really improved my memory; doesn't like the way I say the word "blue," but I have adapted; my brainage went from 80 (because of the word blue) to 23 with daily practice; also like the Sudoku games with the game card; great way to pass the time when waiting for appointments
