THIS GAME JUST SUCKS

1 Rating: 1, Useful: 2 / 9

I do not like this game at all. The difficulty is ridiculous, and the options are very limited. There are plenty of extras, but accessing them is tedious and VERY frustrating. The computer's skills are far too perfect, making the competition incredibly skewed, especially for those who are just getting used to the Wii controls. The banter is annoying, and the characters are forgetful. Wait for something better. DON'T waste your money.

clunky controls, dull gameplay

I generally love golf video games. I finished both versions of Outlaw Golf on the Xbox as well as Hot Shots Golf on the PSP. But this game was tedious and annoying. First the swing control was poor and imprecise. Then you had to sit and wait while the computer took its turn. Every other golf game on the planet allows you to skip this. I played 2 holes and gave up on this mess. This one's not even worth renting.

Wait for another golf game.

Stupid Game and a waste of money....

The free golf game that came with the system was a blast and so I thought I'd try this game. This game wouldn't be worth my time if it were free. It is a waste of time, has nothing to do with the real game of golf, isn't fun, and doesn't work well.

This thing should not be for sale, never mind $50. Avoid this garbage game at all cost.

Very frustrating - especially for a lefty.

In short, this game is horrible. I'm left handed and even though you can set the game up to swing as a "L" or "R" handed person, your toon always swings as if he/she is right handed. ?? How hard would it have been for the programmers to actually program a left handed toon? Give me a break.

Aside from a complete disregard for left handed people, I found the swing mechanics themselves to also be terrible. Your backswing determines the power of the swing, but it's very hard to achieve a 100% swing. You end up holding your remote in a backswing position and moving the remote in all different directions trying to get the power meter all the way to 100% before starting your forward swing. It's not as simple as imitating a regular golf swing. Not even close. I'm going to try to play using buttons rather than swinging the remote before I totally give up on this game, but I'd definately reccommend playing a friends, or renting before shelling out the cash for this title.

Its golf, but not the fun kind

I'm am not a golfer, however, my family and I LOVE the golf mini-game in Wii Sports. So to get a greater fix I purchased this game. Unfortunately this game is not nearly as fun as the Wii Sports version.

Aside from the lame story (which I can forgive), the control scheme feels very much like they slapped the Wiimotes abilities on top of a "button masher". For example, in Wii Sports Golf the power of your swing is determined by the force of your swing, in SSG you sloooooowly rock your arm back and press a button to "set" the power. This takes a HUGE element of fun out of the game in my opinion. This game might be fun on a traditional console but a Wii game it is not.

I plan on trading this one in, save your money for a future golf game that more closely mimics Wii Sports natural flow.

Generic Anime meets underfeatured Golf

As a multiplayer game it beats Wii Sports Golf, that's the nicest thing I can say. TECMO missed a great opportunity here to merge "real" golf aspects with all the fun obstacles of Mini-Golf in a fantasy 3D environment that would never be possible in the real world. From the demo videos that's what Super Swing Golf appears to be, but it's not. It's a generic golf game that uses generic anime characters and a rough story line to try and bring golf to the Wii.

Unless you just really love Wii Sports Golf and want something a little better, pass on this until it hits the bargain rack. It's just not an A list kind of game.

Way Too Difficult

I just rented this game to test it out. My kids and I have been taking turns for hours and we can't get past the second opponent. It gets boring playing Uncle Bob over and over on the same course. I guess there are a lot of neat courses and characters but we can't unlock any of them. I also have a hard time with the controls and sometimes its confusing.

This wouldbe a fun game if it weren't so difficult to play.

Deep Korean Online game makes clunky Wii transition

Super Swing Golf is a weird amalgomation of elements that don't quite all come together. Based upon a Korean Massively Multiplayer Online golf game, it inherited a really, really long gameplay curve, is ridiculously difficult, and candy coated with a cutsey art style. And welded onto a Wiimote swing interface.

While the idea of playing golf with a wii controller is sound, by the 50th time you've swung the remote and wondered why your ball hooked sharply left you'll be wishing they spent a little more time on creating some sort of feedback to why your swing keeps failing. At least in real life you know that it's your fault. Here, they require you to mimmock the subtlties of a real-world golf swing in order to be successful, but don't actually let you know how to do that or even what that would be.

Despite accessible appearances, this game is actually ridiculously difficult. The initial learning curve is punishing, especially on your stroke. In real golf it can take years to get to the point where you're hitting par on every hole. In Super Swing Golf, you'd better be hitting part on every hole by your third opponent.

Like so many other games in its genre, this one is all about buying clothes. You need to get money to get clothes, to swing better, to get more money, etc. It's a viscious cycle that just keeps going. And with literally hundreds of items, and hundreds of tournaments, there are literall hundreds of hours of gameplay here. If you can get through the first five without throwing your wiimote out the window, that is.

This game is huge and deep, and I really wanted to like it more than I did. But with a hugely frustrating learning curve, it's just a glorified exercise in anger management. If you really want a wii golf game and have a lot of time to invest in one, you could do worse. However, this game in no way encompases the "fun and accessible" mantra that the Wii has made its popularity upon.

Confusing and not for a real golf fan

I rented this game before I bought it and I'm glad that I did. My husband and I are both golfers and love the Wii Golf game that comes with the system. So we thought this would be fun too.....NOPE

It is really confusing, especially if you are used to the Wii Sports Game. And we had a hard time getting anything to load correctly. Finally we gave up becuase it just didn't make much sense to us.
