Very cute

Another cute platform game with bright colors. I've seen complaints about the loading time, but compared with Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex, it's nothing. Even after you beat the game, even though there isn't that much replay value, you can go back to your last save and collect all the lums and fairies - This opens up mini-games. So far, I only have the first one and its pretty cute, my little sister loves it.

This is a really good platform game. In a free-roaming world, you go to different stages, and usually the goal is to complete the stage. It's what you might expect from a 3D platform game; lots of jumping, swinging, flying, climbing, shooting and it's fun. You've got to ride the rockets, it's just a blast! The levels have a really big size, but they're not too realistic. There is a world map which has groups of levels in the "stone circles" which are like Stonehenge. There are a number of "lums" (firefly things) that you can collect in every level, so there is several extra hours of replay value just to beat it once. There are a few levels where Rayman slides down a long slope and you must direct him; these are the most fun of all! You must fight the pirates, who are ravaging your land. The music is great. The camera could be improved. The final stage is really hard. As a platformer, it might be rivaled by Jak & Daxter, but the price is so reasonable it's truly worth it.

I gave this game a 5 star because it has a lot of action and the graphic are colorful ans very smooth. In this game you get to climb, run, shoot, fly, ect. the best part of the game is when you get to fly a pirates ship. I had the old Rayman 2 on playstation and this game is A LOT BETTER then the playstation one. The Playstation 2 one is alot different then the playstation one so if you have or haven't played the old one you sould try this one out.

I'm not your typical game nut. As evidence, I just finally finished this game after first starting it 5 years ago. I'm also female, and in my early 30s. I game very infrequently, and I'm very particular in what I like: I don't like dying, and I don't like fighting in my games. Rayman 2: Revolution does involve both of those factors, but they're a very minor part of the game, so it's OK.

The factors that kept me coming back to the game when I allowed myself time to play were the fun cartoonish 3-D animation and the challenge of hunting down and puzzling out how to get at all the collectable lums while exploring a wide variety of pretty and interesting locations. There were a few battles required, but once I got the techniques figured out each time (and it's different every time, which keeps things interesting), it was just a matter of refining my execution. A lot of the game play required coordination to do the tasks, whether that was guiding a flying vehicle through an obstacle course at high speed or timing shots correctly during a battle, but you get a lot of chances to try the tasks before "dying", and dying just means you get sent a little further back in the game (and you get to keep any lums collected before dying). I often got frustrated with the physical coordination tasks, but I just kept trying and finally beat them, and usually felt that much better for the challenge required.

This game is long enough and complex enough that I might play it again, trying to get more lums and play more of the mini games within it, and I'd definitely play a sequel done in a similar style. There were a number of minor glitches in the game, including occasional sounds that would get stuck in an infinite loop and other odd lockups, but as long as you save regularly, it's not a big deal to reset the console and start again from the last save point. I think this is a game that will hold up well over time, and is quite enjoyable for atypical gamers (and probably the typical ones too).

Best version of Rayman 2.

If you've never heard of this game before, or have played Rayman 3 or Rayman 1 and somehow missed this for some reason, definitely pick this one up. It is undoubtebly my favorite version of Rayman 2, though the original was still very awesome on the N64. (Though some say the Dreamcast version was the best.) I personally loved this game the first time I played the original on my friends N64, and now that this version has a much cooler free-roam styled world, better graphics, different languages for the voice acting such as Deutsch or the original Raymanian from the original version of Rayman 2. If you are thinking of getting Rayman 2 and do not have an N64, Dreamcast, or DS, certaintly get this awesome PS2 version. (If you don't have a PS2, I strongly suggest against getting the DS version. Its horrible camera angles and smaller screens will frustrate you more than entertain you as this revolutionized PS2 version will.) All in all, buy this game NOW! It's definitley worth it, even if you're not a hardcore platformer.
