The Game That Could

A disgrace to the harvest moon name

Let me start out by saying I am huge harvest moon fan, and I have been ever since I played the super nintendo version. I have played just about every harvest moon game ever made and I have to say that this version hits rock bottom. When I bought this game I had just finished harvest moon 64, and it is possible I just set my expectations too high, but there was nothing in this game that even remotely interested me. I thought the graphics were choppy for a ps2 game, and the visuals were dull(dirtroads galore). you have to walk great distances to buy and sell things and everything looks very similar, so it is very easy to get lost. I also cant believe that you couldnt buy and raise sheep! all in all harvest moon:save the homeland was very poorly made, and they didnt spend nearly enough time to make it live up to its name. all the people that have been giving this game 5 stars overall, either they have not played earlier harvest moon games or they enjoy playing crappy games like this.

A Return to Simpler times

Harvest Moon Save the Homeland is Natsume's return to a simpler Harvest Moon. If any of you remember the first Harvest Moon for SNES, you'll remember that everything was simple and straightforward. You didn't have a choice of cows,sheep and chickens. You only cows and chickens. It didn't take a whole lot of expensive gifts to satisfy a girl, you could just give her a flower, or talk to her. Natsume is trying to go back to these times. In HM:STH the focus is not on farming, but on getting to know people and saving the village from being bulldozed. Its up to you to get one of nine different endings that will save the village. Go for it minna!

I played Harvest Moon for about 3 months... I loved it. Now when I play save the homeland I wonder if Natsume got high while making this game...

Overall I think this game is okay but is mainly about the endings (9) which i think Natsume is trying to do. Not getting married or not having a baby and the areas being farther away are the big reason why I disliked this game and I blame Natsume for being lazy and slacking off on this game.. But i forgive him since he has created the orginal harvest moon (!BUY IT!) that is 5 times better than Save the Homeland.

I only Recommend you buy this game if you've never played Harvest Moon or don't care about any of the bad changed in the game.

This game is obviously the work of a genius! The concept is your sent to your grandfathers farm and you have to save the town from being turned into a resort. I know your first thought great a farming game, but this game is the most addicting game I ever experienced and I have played a lot of games. I rated this game a 4 because of a lot of reasons:First you can't get married and there's no festivals like other Harvest Moon games. Also there's only a few characters, a few places to go, and a few different types of animals. The high points are the graphics there very good and well thought out. So if your sick of all these fighting and violent games, then I recomened this to everyone.

The Harvest Moon Series is frankly one of if not my favorite Video Game Series. However I find this one to be lacking in quite a few ways. The switch to 3-D was well done but sometimes was troublesome overall good job there. I think that also helped me get my dog to help put the Cows in the Barn...some of the other games that was a neigh impossible feat.

However the Biggest Problems in my opinion were that in previous Harvest Moons there was usually the chance to woo and marry one of the girls in town...not this one. Needless to say you don't have a chance to have a baby in this game either. Also this game lacks the Festivals that many of the games have at different times of the year.

In most Harvest Moon games there is no "end" you do at some point win the game but you can play right through that and continue to grow your farm, but not this one. As soon as you get one of the nine endings your game is over and you start again on day 1 of Spring. I have beaten nearly every ending and have yet to find out what winter looks on my farm. Also when you restart on day 1 of Spring you keep your house and farm and animals and stuff which is good but it seems odd because your plants are all still growing. Get to harvest Breadfruit on your first day in the Farm...seems kind odd to me.

Overall still a very good game and certainly would be acceptable to play with a child who has the patience...no violence, however they do have a nice little scene showing what happens when you fail to take care of you animals. They don't show it die but one of your neighbors comes shows you a grave and tells you he is ashamed of your disregard for life and irresponsiblity, maybe too heavy handed for a very young child but certainly, I think appropriate for children who understand actions have results.

WOW!!!! This is a great game! I had a blast playing it and as soon as I get the money I'm buying it here. It is not manufactured anymore so get it while its hot. Amazon.com is the only place I've been able to find it. It is a grand game and although it is a seemingly dull game, that is only when watching it. It is really fun to play and quiet relaxing. Do not, i repeat, do not let anyone play this game once it is yours because you shall find them ever begging you to let them borrow it or come over to play it. Have fun!!!!

My friend Heather plays alot of games on her PS2. One day we were just looking through the games when Harvest Moon caught my eye. We only played it for about 10 minutes, but that night I bought the game for good! I love how the game has nine different endings, so you don't get bored. It's a really addictive game... I'm currently on my 5th ending and it's really fun! It's great! <3

I love the Harvest Moon series, and this game is no exception. The graphics are a whole lot better than the previous versions, and even though some things are cut out (not as many crops), other things are more complex, such as the story. I don't actually have this game, but I have seen it and it sounds and looks wonderful, and practically all reviewers have loved it...

A Wedding. There no wonder why you did create married from Harvest moon one ane two, three. I like the game with wedding. Please Create it. I wish you can make other new Harvest Moon 4 return to the Harvest moon Farm. With Married. Hey if i could made the girl Lyida or Gwen fall love with the Boy. then They should married and happily after ever?????? Yes or no???
