different but fun

By my count there are about 6 or 7 Harvest Moon games out there for various systems, so Natsume must be doing something right. In fact, they recently released number 3 for the Gameboy Color.

On Save the Homeland, the graphics are much improved (obviously) from any other version on the market. I have been playing it now for just a couple days, and I am already hooked. From what I read, the game focuses more on interaction with the townspeople than it does making money. I don't really agree with this; making money seems to be the primary goal. Plus, the people that I keep running into on an (hourly) basis don't have a whole lot to say or do. They are just sort of roaming around, and tell you some little cheesy statement about life.

I do have one question; where in the...is the dog food?

This is a Harvest Moon unlike any other in the series. While Harvest Moon back to nature was hardly antying but a port souped up for the playstation, this one is totally different. These graphics are amazing, from a first person viewpoint. It seems as if this harvest moon is for a mature audience, as it isnt near as sunny, in fact, it is misty and foggy in the whole game. The enviroment takes alot to get used to, and you get alot of different things in the game you dont get from the other games. But the huge complaint i have with this game is YOU CANT DATE GIRLS! Thats the most fun of the other games so why did they leave this out? they have plenty of space in the game, do they just not care? If i knew this before buying it, i would have definatley thought twice about buying it. But it is a great game and you should check it out, especially if you are a fan of the others in the series. But i think that if you are beginning, get Back to Nature first because its just a better game.

Wow this game is truly amazing, this game had minor flaws such as when you are traveling through an area of the Harvest world sometimes you wind up back at your house, but other than that it is awesome, the anamator really captured the people making them most spectacular in every way, some people rate this game a low score because they only care about the Festivals and getting married ,though it would be nice,but if the creator wanted to make this game like that he would of, but each harvest moon games are different in their own ways, the really cool stuff about this particular game is that there are 9 endings each different to help make this game last a lifetime, you can harvest crops, you can ride your horse which is new and cool cuz when you are in need if you are in need you can get certain items you may need alot faster, you can get up to 6 chickens, 1 dog which you can train(very cool), cows, and even a lovely horse which you can ride, these graphics are very impressive they caapure each character well as in the previous harvest moon games, now it seems that people believe that this is a childish game due to the "E" rating, but in fact it is a very wonderful game for people of all ages, and it will keep any body busy, what with the harvesting cash crops, making friends with the towns people, raising animals, training your dog, getting items, money, completing tasks such as helping the farmer which hell give you money and soon a horse!, sleeping, and even the reading is quite a work,
so all in all this is a good game that is sure to keep any body happy, and if your a fan this is definetly one you should Buy!

This version of Harvest Moon in my opinion, is a classic. It is so much easier than all of the other ones. The others made you feel guilty, becuase if you weren't doing one thing as much as another, then you felt guilty. Say you were working hard on your crops in HM64, but were doing a poor job on your social life. That could hurt you, but then if you shifted even a bit, it could hurt your farm. This one spends less time on farming, and more time on saving the homeland! If you like the farming part, then dont worry, because you still farm. The farming is much easier, because every hour is about a minute in our time! Less land to farm on, and the grass is already growing for you, and you never have to replant it! I recomend this game to everyone!

When i recenly bought this game i thought this would be like all the other harvest moons where you can get a wife and there are 3 years and u get a little brown dog with a horse and your own farm. Well i was saddly mistaken for you get 1 year to do 1 of 9 of the events and you get no wife you must work for a horse and you must do more just for a dog this game was a very boring game it got old fast and was barely fun i think that natsume took a wrong turn i could see if there were horse races and diffrent events like the other ones but there isnt also you can only build 2 things a kitchen and a dog house big whoop so if i were you maybe possibly rent it BUT DONT BUY IT you will beat it so fast and get bored as fast ...

Man i got this game a day ago, and let me tell you, WOW, ITS AMAZING, the characters added nice features, each with their own little personalities, and the people are very interesting to talk to, the game lacks just a little in Gameplay as your walking to a little town of the Harvest world, you become to find your self in your house,which is confusing, but the game really is amazing, you can ride your horse around which is a quicker and more faster way when your animals are sick or if you just want to visit a town for a need, the graphics are cool and the animater really captured the characters, as in all Harvest moon games, the sound is just terrific to me, kinda of childlike but fun to listen to, this game may misled you to think its a kids game due to the "E" rating but it is a very good game for people of all ages i turned 14!yesterday, and youll never get bored with all the stuff to do, now people are saying things about you cant get married or you cant go to festivals, but all games are created differently, and this game has plenty of things to do, Harvest cash crops, Groom your pets, feed your pets, greet people, make money by doing chores, raising animals including chickens, your horse, cows and your little friend (the dog) in which you can train, plus there are nine ways to complete your task, all in all i think this a great game with minor flaws, i recommend it!

This game is good but not great. The graphics are amazing but there are less characters to interact with like Back To Nature you can intreact with 50 characters but in this one u can interact with only 20. Theres 9 different ways to save the ranch which means 9 endings(this is surprizing)anyway this game is worth buying if you really like Harvest Moon games but I would Harvest GBC 3 is better in style but not graphics.

Hey you people out there! This game rocks! A month before my birthday I asked my mom if I could get a PS2 so I could play this game, and I got my wish. I am glad I got it.

If you want to get an HM game, get Back to Nature or A Wonderful Life. This has best or second best graphics, but not much else. The girls are pretty interesting, but you can't marry or date them. It doesn't have holidays, it only has 4 crops, few animals, and it's just not nearly as good as any of the other games. Rent it if you feel you must try it.

This game is so fun even though it differs greatly from the original versions. You can't get married, there are no sheep, you can't have kids, and there is only four crops. Despite all of this alarming information...I LOVE THE GAME! It is really fun and an interesting challange to get your horse and dog to like you. The better friends you become to the characters, the more dramatic the ending will be if it involves that person. Like in one game file I didn't make really good friends with the girl and all she said at the end is she still likes some guy, and in another one where I did the same ending, I became really good friends with her and at the end she kissed me!! It was so cute. If you buy any games make sure to buy this one! It was so good I actually put in the effort to write a review!
