THIS IS NOT EVEN A GAME THAT YOU WANT TO RENT IT IS SO BAD. IF YOU WERE TO BUY IT, IT WOULD ONLY COLLECT DUST. TAKE MY WORD AND DO NOT BUY THIS GAME UNLESS YOU LIKE PURE A**.

Buyin this is out. Rent it and wish you hadn't. Anyone who ever played Diablo knows this is *not* an RPG. It is a cheesy arcade ripoff. The weak graphics do no justice to the PS2 platform. It is repetitive and boring.
Well, It is bad, bad, and uh, oh ya.....BAD

If you love adventure games this is the game for you. This strategy game is extremely fun. There are 8 worlds and a battlefield world where you battle numerous monsters, generals, and bosses with quick and slow attacks, magic potions, and legendary items. The multiplayer mode is the best.

This game was a lot of fun. It was a huge improvement from the days it was on the original Nintendo. There's a bit of a challenge to this game, but not much. I rented it first and I'm thankful that I did. The game is fun, but it gets to be repetative after a while. While your character gets stronger the game seems to get easier, a lot easier. Personally, I like a game with a challege and this wasn't it.
A game best played with friends- but oh, so fun...

I played this with a group of friends, and we managed to sit down, completely lose track of time and play until the wee hours. It is absolutely imperative that this game be played with at least one pther player if you want to get past the more diffcult challenges on each level, plus it is a lot of fun to see what your character can do, or your friends' can do, after more time playing, experience, and new skills. While not the best game I have ever played, it is a lot of fun, and I would like to see what would happen if we had four players going at once- it should be VERY entertaining!
Could be fun

While at first I was very excited about the possibility of multi-player gaming, it soon became apparent that the game was not challenging at all. I am not near becoming any real good on any games, as I am completely bad at all games except Jeopardy. However, if this game turns to be way too easy even for me, then I believe it will be extremely boring for most kids. Cute game to play with your spouse, and kill time once in a while. But half way through it, it just got very boring and we stopped playing altogether.
Great arcade fun in the comfort of your living room

Ok, I am not going to lie and tell you that this is a game of depth. But, if a game that stimulates the mind is what you are looking for, why are you looking at Gauntlet?? The story is weak, but this game is about fighting every single monster in sight, it's not about discovering the emotional depths of your characters, or dealing with complex puzzles. The puzzles in Gauntlet: Dark Legacy are just hard enough to make you stop and think about it, but not so hard that the game would qualify as a puzzler. The action part of Gauntlet: Dark Legacy would not disappoint you, and although the graphics is not top-notch, it's more than adequate. If you enjoy action-adventure games, you will want to check out Gauntlet: Dark Legacy. If you have a multitap, the 4-player mode provides the kind of fun and excitement you thought only the arcade can provide. It's worth your 20 dollars.

While the game is definately not bad, it just gets old too quick. Even with more than one person it still ages. Good try though Midway.
