Really Descent Game

I now own and have played all of the hunting games for the PS2 that have come out thus far, Deer Hunter being my latest buy. When I first started playing this game I was impressed with the clean crisp graphics and the gameplay seemed just okay. Now that I know what Im doing and how all the features work I can clearly say that this is an awesome fun game. You can adjust your difficulty level to however challenging you want the game which is good. The graphics are truely excellent with better and longer zoom range with your riflescope than in other ps2 hunting games. Animals AI is a little off meaning sometimes you can just walk up to an animal and he wont run if he sees you. You can carry plenty of equipment with you unlike other ps2 games and you can also choose from a wide variety of equipment. The sounds of the game are respectable but a little repetitive as if there was a tape playing over and over again of the same animal making noise. As far as the hunting trip itself it is great you can climb well shoot well aim well see well lure well and depending on what difficulty mode your playing in you can have a bullet pointer compass guide you in the direction of the animal nearest you. Season mode allows for objective based hunting from one location to the next, quick hunt, tournament hunt, online hunting. This game has a lot to offer. My recommendation is this game is well worth it especially at its low price of $20 you wont be disappointed once you get the game going. NOW GO BUY!!!

I did a search for this game online and the screenshots look amazing. They make all other hunting games look like old technology, especially since this is the only Playstation 2 or Xbox title with real online play. I couldn't find a video so the other reviewer clearly was looking at one of the other hunting titles and I totally agree, the other Playstation 2 titles do look like Playstation 1 games.

Looks and plays fantastic! Best hunting game out there!

I finally just got this for Christmas. Well worth the wait. I can see why it took so long, this game blows all the Cabelas out of the water. You don't feel closterfobic in this game, it has huge levels where the deer are free to run. The hunting areas are really big which is great. The animal behaviors are very realistic and look amazing. The graphics are stunning and by far the best I've ever seen. I have more to say but I'm going back for more play.

I played this game at a friends house and I can say this game is absolutely excellent, it is better than the Cabela's hunting game, the gameplay absolutely just out ranks The cabela's hunting games which the Cabela's games SUCK. My friend asked me if I was going to get Deer Hunter for PS2. Let me borrow a catch fraze from Stone Cold Steve Austin......OH HELL YEAH...
and anybody who says that Deer Hunter for PS2 sucks, YOU HAVE SOMETHING WRONG WITH YOU, SEEK HELP

This games is one of the best games. Hunting is a great hobbie. My whole family hunts for every thing you can hunt. Everybody should own this game. Its not cruel to kill a deer, I think it is cool. The only thing I dont like about this game is the graphics aren't that great.

This is the hunting game I have been waiting for.
It will have 2 player split screen hunting.

This is a fantastic hunting game. The graphics are the best outdoor graphics I have seen, and the levels are HUGE! (And you don't have to keep loading like in the awful cabela's PS2 games). The season modes are excellent, and the vehicles are great. Where this game really comes to life is in the online mode. You can compete in tournaments with other hunters around the world. You can also play 2 player split screen in tournaments. The animals look and move excellently and there are plenty of them in the worlds (again, unlike cabela's which has 3 or 4 at the most.) Fantastic !

Reindeers are my favourite animals

In this game you are a deer hunter. You have 8 diiferent weapons at different locations.In this game you have other animals such as brown bears, elks, mooses, mountain goats and grizzly bears. You should make more hunting games.

This is the hunting game I have been waiting for. It will have 2 player split screen hunting so me and my dad can hunt at the same time, and I can set up hunting parties online and play with my buddies, or anyone else. Deer Hunter has always been the best series of hunting games and this one just looks amazing from the screenshots I have seen. There are actual forests in this. Most of the other games make you hunt in parks with very few trees. You can even ride a horse, and there are muzzle-loaders for old school hunters like my grandpa. I can't wait for this game !

I bought this along with a couple of other games for my husband's birthday. He really enjoys this. I had bought him the cabela's games but he prefers this one because of the online and the more realistic graphics. I have also started playing this, and it's a lot of fun. The forests are really well done, with birds and squirrels all over the place, waterfalls, lakes etc. The animals are really hard to shoot, and it is overall very challenging.
