Great Game control and easy play

I believe of the reviews I have read for this game, most fails to focus on what makes this game worth playing. Alot of the other reviews I have read, are bent over, the poor intro to character, and a rather vague insturction manual. It's fair to say that there is little direction that is offer by the game in terms of story. However, the game makes up for it in great game play. The control for this game has got to be some the greatest I have ever seen. It was so easy to figure have to manage inventory and customize the controls to whatever you desire. Which greatly make this game one of most fun and easy to play. I would definitely suggest renting this game. So, you can judge yourself the merits of the game.

You are always told this as a child. Well its normally ment that a good book will have a bad cover. Well a bad game can have a good cover. This is one of the first games I got when I got my playstation2 a few months ago. This and GT3.
Well I played it alittle bit and burned myself out on it pretty quick. How many times can I go to a dungeon for the same item. Gets pretty boring fast.
This was a big Stink Bomb
A game from a different generation.

When I first played this game, I hated it. It was nothing like the description, previews or expectations I had. However, it actually turned out to be fairly good. This game is a definate throw-back to the days of arcade fun. There is no story, plot, development or interaction. It's pure and simple hack 'n slash action. I love the game's music, as it gives you a great rock/metal background while you do some slaying. This game strongly reminds me of Diablo, in both it's style and simplicity. Definately a suprise offering. Ignore the previews and purchase only if you like the old days of mindless arcade fun.

This game is about a girl named anna. That all we know about her. No character development at all. She’s a girl named anna. Amazeing isn’t it? NO! (...) It might have gotten a 3 star if there had been any hint of a story or in hind of character development. but noooooooooooo.
(...) The fighting is OK but nothing worth buying. One cool thing about the game is that the controls are simplier than anything in the entire world.

I've waited FOREVER for this game!!!!

Tell ya what, all you bored gamers waiting for Fall's lineup to hit the store, pick this one up! The story line is extensive and intricate! While the controls may be a little clunky and hard to pick up at first, it's worth it! As you progress through the story and witness some intense cinemas, you really begin to connect with your lead heorine! While fighting is the main concept to this outstanding game, alot of emphasis is also put on interacting with other characters, which you pick up througout the game!
The best thing the gaming industry could do is to make a sequel to this game IMMEDIATELY!

what a "wow"ing experience! This is my first reaction to this game the first time I played it. Now itz been 2 months, 4dayz, 3hours and 29 seconds and I still couldn't believe why I bought this game. If you really wanna waste your money, time and effort, or in short, if you dont have a life....you definitely should buy this game. I am only giving this game 5 stars coz I bought it and spent my hard earned money on it. And anything I buy is perfect...sayz the joker :)

Really, what the heck this people where thinking when they made this game. I can't associate this game with any other game ever. My suggestion don't even give it as a gift for buying X amount of dollars somebody might sue you.

This is one of the worst games ever. Don't waste your money. Avoid it, don't even waste your money to rent it. It really is that bad.
Basic Arcade Style Hack and Slash

Mix the item finding and collecting of Diablo (no uniques though) with the endless hack and slash of the first Gauntlet arcade game, and you have this. Great monster and item variety. If you know what to expect, then you can have a lot of mindless fun with the game engine.
Probably the best part of the game is defending the villages, with the villagers fighting along side you. I thought that part was inspired, as far as hack and slash games go.
On the flipside, the game was rushed into fancy packaging without being complete. The story is minimal. It's apparent (I'm not an excellent coder) that twelve hours (one work day!) of touch-ups on the story (have the villagers say different things each month) and a bestiary like Castlevania: Curse of Darkness would have improved the experience. I didn't like the game because the slapdash programming was so obvious.
This also reminded of the original Legend of Zelda for the NES and Gateway to Apshai for Colecovision. You can really get into the exploring aspect of the randomly generated dungeons. I thought the music was pretty bad... I mean rock and roll in a dark ages type adventure game? Didn't do it for me.
So you who are reading this review, ask yourself this: have you played through Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, Baldur's Gate, Dark Alliance II *may be expensive*, Champions of Norrath OR Champions Return to Arms (Norrath one and two are essentially the same game), Castlevania Curse of Darkness, and the computer version of Diablo (one and two)? If the answer is yes, and you liked them, you'll like this if you don't expect a story. If the answer is no, buy one of the better games mentioned, you'll like it more.
