Pros:
Missions are very fun to play
Nice aresonal of weapons(K3G4 will rip through those flak jackets)
Very adictive gameplay
Pretty good music
This game will last for a while
Superb sound effects
Bosses put up a pretty good fight
altho I don't like to cheat, it's a easy way to get all the levels and guns(with infinite ammo)
put it on hard to push your skills to the limit
at 19 bux, go grab a classic
Cons:
Not so good graphics(Faces are flat in FMVs)
I hate some stealth missions
Voice acting is pretty bad
Some missions are repetitve
Why does gabe run like he gotta crap his pants

This game was definitly overshadowed by the imfamus Metal Gear Solid. But that don't mean the game didn't sell, it reached the over the two million mark, and after playing it through, I see why. If you love Metal Gear Solid, go check this out.

Final Words:This game was great, no doubt, but Syphon Filter 2 was a bit worse, and it missed out on the Combat shotgun(Don't get me wrong, it's still a good game, not as good as the first. Now I dunno why they put out Syphon Filter 3, that game stinks. Now the're putting the climax of the series on the PS2, Syphon Filter, omega strain online. Let's just hope omega strain can be as fun as this classic.

This one of the best games that I have evered played for any system. If I had to recammend(sp) any other game (if this is sold out) it would be "Metal Gear Solid." THIS IS A KICK GLUETEUS MAXIMUS GAME

I just picked up this game for my brother while I was visiting on Thanksgiving vacation. Not only did it entertain him and his friends (and still does) I was actually into it, and I am not a Big video game person. If anyone is looking for a great 1 player game, you need look no further. I loved this game (and even skipped a gym visit or two to beat it)...

A must for action game players. This game kept me on the edge of my couch for weeks on end. The graphics and assortment of weapons is un-matched. I've played the game twice and I am looking forward to playing it again!

Great, great game! You need to master moves, learn to snipe, and really think in this game. Not many out there like these! If you liked Goldeneye, you will love this one!

This is the best game I own! Well besides Syphon Filter 2. I prefer you buy 1 before 2 to catch the drift of what you have to do. Thanks for letting me tell you about the two awesome games!

I recently bought a Playstation and bought this game as well. With a lot of missions, this game has as much AI anyone could want. It doesn't have difficulty modes and it doesn't have a multiplayer mode either. It has a few scattered cuss words but not that many. The graphics aren't the best, but this game will last you a long time. The controls are smooth and it has a good story line. It will keep you on the edge of your seat. Out of all the games I've played, this is the best. I would advise you to buy it. (for the price, what could you lose?)

This game is pretty cool. It's like a hybrid between a shooter and a spy game. Syphon Filter has an awesome assortment of weapons that you can burn, blow, tear, and otherwise give your enemies a few more holes in their body. The level design is really good, with lots of nooks and crannies to hide in. Perfect for snipers. But the voice acting is bad.

Pros: Cool weapons, nice level design

Cons: Grahpics can be a bit blocky at times, the voice acting is HORRIBLE, and there are some levels that you JUST CAN'T pass without being seen or shot.

Overall, this is a nice game. But once you finish it, there's not much replay value except that itching urge to zap some baddies with the taser. >:)

Syphon Filter is undoubtedly one of the finest PSX games made, with great graphics and gameplay, but I must say that the difficulty level of the game at higher levels made me want to rip my hair out. Things move pretty smoothly until the last 1/4 or so of the game; at that point, you hit levels that are maddeningly difficult and, at certain points in the game, I'd become so frustrated that I truly wanted to break my controller in half or fling it across the room. However, despite how crazy I'd get, I just couldn't quit: the game is so bloody addicting that I had to keep trying again and again. I wanted to stop playing and say "never again" but I was compelled to reach the end. And so I'd die and die and retry levels about 20 times and finally I'd clear them. Which brings up another issue: if you don't have a lot of time to spare on video games or don't want to have all your productive hours sucked away, then stay clear of this game! Also, you'd better have A LOT of patience. I would give this game 5 stars if it weren't for its obscene (at times) level of difficulty towards the end.

BTW: I don't understand why everyone says this game has horrible voice acting. I usually cringe when I hear video game voiceovers, but the voices in Syphon Filter -- with a few exceptions -- were pretty good.

Syphon filter is one of the best replayable games that, unlike other sequels, keeps getting better. 1 was good, 2 was brill and 3 is fanomenal, worth every penny. I seriosly sujest this game to anyone!
