This game is simply "awesome!".

If you are looking for the right playstation game to give as a gift, or just for yourself, then you can't go wrong buying this game. The graphics are first rate, very life-like. To actually race in an event (in simulation mode) , you must get your license to drive by passing 8 driving tests for each license (there are 3 licenses). It's true, it can be frustrating at times when you fail a test by 1.5 seconds. But it makes it very satisfying when you do pass a hard test. Once you obtain your license, you can enter actual racing competitions, and that's where the fun is! You win some races, gather credits, buy or build your own fleet of cars....then race your neihbor in a memory card battle (in my case, i had to build up two memory cards and then race my brother!). Well, there is a whole lot more to this great game and I would give it 10 stars if possible!

THIS GAME IS FLAWLESS. THE GRAPHICS ARE SHARP & REALISTIC. THE CONTROLS OF THE VEHICLE ARE SUPURB. THE MUSIC FITS THE GAME PERFECTLY. THE AMOUNT OF DETAIL OF THE AUTOS, AND THE CUSTOMIZATION OF THE CARS EVERY MECHINACAL ASPECT IS UNREAL. I OWN A SPORTS CAR, AND AFTER I PLAY GRAN TURISMO I WANT TO TAKE MY CAR FOR A DRIVE. THIS GAME HAS AS MUCH REPLAY VALUE AS YOU HAVE TIME AND FRIENDS. YOU CANT TELL BY THIS REVIEW, BUT I HAVE ALWAYS DISLIKED RACING GAMES. GRAN TURISMO IS A KEEPER.

This game delivers everything it promises - and more. From Honda Civics to Dodge Vipers; this game has it all. One player is suitably tough - just enough to keep you coming back for more...You start with $10000 with which you buy a (used) car of your choice and go racing. You have to pass a variety of driving tests which enable you to race on more varied tracks and races for richer awards.

Two player is great fun but the problem here is that there are only ever two cars on the track in this mode (would be REALLY great if you could race each other with other AI cars too!)

There are a whole host of upgrades and mods to be made to any car available in the game. The only shortcoming (if there had to be one) is the ommission of some of the world's truly awesome cars; no BMW, no Porsche and no Ferrari. But hell, you get TVR, Dodge, Nissan, Mazda to name a few.

The controls are great (Analogue is a must here) and the responses are all different. If you only buy one racing game for the PSX; get this one.

Gran Turismo. The best racing game yet. Has about 187 cars from different famous companies like Chevrolet, The New Dodge, TVR, Aston Martin, and more. This game is one of the coolest. I can't say it in more words. Just a few words: THIS GAME IS DA BOMB!

Neat game. Has about 187 cars from different car companies like The New Dodge, Aston Martin, Chevrolet, and more. This is the best racing game yet. Tracks are well made and no pop-ups occur anywhere in the game. The FMV sequences are amazing and so are the sound effects and music. I really loved this game and you will too. It will be worth your $.

I bought PlayStation as a gift for my daugther... she was keen on this Spice Girls game. It's a long time to christmas (it was at least at purchase date), so I decided to buy a game for myself to play until the holy day. The choice fell on Gran Turismo and was well worth it. I have played it for "some" hours now, but I still struggle with the A-licence... a good thing though since it means that you will have challenges for a long time ahead. The replay-function is the best thing about the game... incredibly fancy. My girlfriend tried it... and she is as hooked as me. Her female friends thought it was hilarious. Our neighbours "borrowed" it for some days and almost refused to give it back........ need I say more?

If any one could simply see the introduction of the game without buying it would force shoppers to kick and bite to get it! These graphics are the closest thing to watching NASCAR races on TV I've ever seen. It is the most elaborate racing game on the market and having real cars and corporations was a brillant idea. I LOVE THE SPECIAL CARS!!! They are the best, excpet for the part about them costing $200,000 (in the game). And it is impossible to get the licenses!!!

This game has all the cars you ever wanted to drive but never had the money or time.Such as the Aston Martin DB7, and the Dodge Viper GT10, and my favorite, the '67 Corvette. This is a must get more car lovers.

I have never been so sucked into a video game like this. It is amazing the time I have spent play this game and not getting tired or bored.
