This game is to underrated it is the best RPG i've ever played i think it's better than ff7 ff8 and ff9 you will have lots of fun with this game it's a must have!!!!!!

Prior to it's re-release as a Greatest Hits title, FFT was hard to find and somewhat collectible, selling on ebay in upwards of $100. Now it's readily available to all for $19.99. For those of you who have not yet played the game I strongly urge you to give it a try. It's a very polished game that manages to provide deep gameplay while also being accessible to newbies of the "tactics" genre. Once you understand the basics of choosing character classes for your party (they're called 'Jobs' in FFT), managing ability power-ups, and complete some of the introductory battles (which are easy in the beginning) I think you will be hooked. I picked up a greatest hits copy recently, not having played it since it first came out in '97/'98 and I am amazed at how entertaining it is a second time around. A true classic.

man,this game was awful!! it was like playing vitual chess!!! you only had like 2 main characters and the rest were all warriors that when K.O. ED stayed that way!!it was soooooo stupid!! and way too ... easy!! and alot of your items miss. like when you put a pheonix down on someone it would miss!!i didnt even get the storyline of this game. big deal ramzas father died!!like that doesnt happen every day!!its not like he was immortal!!i know i am not a pro at gaming but seriously when you say agame is that good you should actually mean it!!!! the people in this game are soooo ,well,FLAT!theyre like papaer!i for one personally hated this game but this my opinion and you can dissagree with me!!

disappointment

i was disappointed w/this game. of course, i bought this one after i got and played final fantasy iii. although, i did take forever finishing this game. what i hated most was not have free range of movement, you can't even walk around.

YOU are so RIGHT to say this game puts you in medieval times. Too bad it is because the game is worthless. I problably would sell it for [price] new. I think there are other games out there which are not so "medieval" because this one just invented the wheel.

Best final fantasy game I know

This game is definately hard, but it's got a great story and it has a super awesome battle system that I could play for hours for no reason. If you don't get this game, you're sure to go insane. Although, in some aspect, like those stupid assasins, if you get the game, you'll go insane. But get it anyway.

And remember, "if at first you don't succeed, try, try again" until you cut those stupid buttcheeks in have with you're chaos blade!!!

Puts other FF titles to shame

This game puts every other FF title to shame in terms of gameplay. The square-based battlefields, different attack/move/jump ranges make you plan out your battles. It's a far cry from games like FF7/8/10 where you could get by just attacking constantly, or could give everyone any magic spell you wanted (FF8, anyone?).

The story isn't as long as other games, but the battles are LONG. Some are 30-45 minutes. In fact, it's like every battle is a boss fight!

If you enjoyed the job system from FF5, and you enjoyed the position-based fighting in Chrono Trigger, then this is a great game to try. 20 jobs for your characters means there is a LOT of replay value.

This is the Best Game Ever!!!

Let me just say right away that this is my favorite Final Fantasy game. Wait, let me say that again, Final Fantasy Tactics is the BEST GAME EVER! The graphics are funny and cool, there are many job classes, you can have over a dozen people in your party, and you get to name them yourself because they don't have set names (besides all the main characters). This game is so fun and addictive and I have more than 99 hours on it (the game stops counting after 99 hours). I play this game over and over because it seems different every time. The plot is great and very complex and deep. If you do not own this game you should buy it because it is only $15 at a store. But if it cost $100 you should still buy it because it is that good!

This final fantasy is totally different from the others, it's a much more strategic game then a RPG one , but it's fun , a little short , and it does not have multi endings :( i give it 4 stars it's nice but not perfect , and if you expect a regular final fantasy you WILL be desapointed.

It's really fun to play.

Ok, this game is quite good, overall. The musics- very good, the characters (jobs)- Good, and the story-OK.
Things I like:
-The Jobs:
This game is quite different than the other FFs, this game offers us a wide choice of characters, either it's black or white mage, summoner, archer, monk, squire, time mage, Geomancer, lancer, oracle, master mime, samurai, ninja, or even a calculator! There's a lots of character, I even confused what I should choose to get into a battle. Every job have each ability, like time magic, summon magic, guts, yin yang magic, jump, throw, charge and lots of it.
And the most fun character is the Chocobos, the can lay eggs, can be ride, and others.
-The musics:
The musics are quite good, the music selection in this game is quite good, depends of the situation. The musics are good. I like it. It can make us feel the real battle.
-The ability.
Each character's ability is very different each. Each has unique ability. this make this game's very interesting.
the way we can get the ability is to battle, every move we do in the battle, we get Jps (Job Points). we must collect the Jp for get the other ability.
-The battle.
Each job has each movement range. Some can move till 8 squares, but some just can move 3 squares. Other thing, the terrain in the battle is also very interesting. Sometimes, it's poisonous, and sometime, the water is too high so you can't attack, sometime, there's a thing that can block your attack, or even traps in the battle.
-The minigames:
Sometime, you can do a job in the bars, you can send someone to go to do the jobs, and the best thing, you can get a lots of money!!

Things I don't like :
-The graphics. The graphics are bad, but because it's produced on 90's, Ok, I forgive it.
-The long confusing story. The story is too long. And sometime, you can get confused how to go next. But, you will found the next destination quickly.

Ok, this game is quite good, must have item for Final Fantasy lovers. You wouldn't regret.
