i was oh so very dissapointed with this game!after all the ... that i heard that this game was such a piece of art .i know im not a pro gamer, but!actually i think this game is only for the pros.you wont really like it if not.the graphics are poor, the names are fruity, the storyline is [weak]the characters,oh my word!they are dumb the family of each different character is to hard to keep track of.there were to many half brothers and sisters!the names were really fruity, like ramza.i thuoght he was a she!judjing by the picture in the hand book he looked like a girl!so thruogh the whole thing i did not know who was a she or a he!so i rest my case that this game [is't very good]!

This game is somewhat good if you brought some Gameshark with you to play it... this game really angers me because no matter what the chances are on the battlefield, I'm always dying, plus it got scratched up badly. All that hard-earned money I spent down the toilet.

I played and loved Final Fantasy 6 (US 3) on SNES and again on PS1. I played FF7 when it came out. I got halfway through 8 before giving up. Played 5 on Anthology, and 4 on Chronicles. 1 on an Emulator. None compare to Tactics. Superb, Superb Game.
Difficulty is high. Wonderful. It's not a game you breeze through. You will hate it when you spend 5 hours on the Limberry Castle battle, trying to steal the full Genji set from Elmdor. You'll hate it when the damn Ultima Demons won't cast Ultima on Ramza. But you'll keep coming back. Playing it all over again with just hired troops. It's simply a wonderful, wonderful game. Buy it. Now.
A Refreshing and Challenging Final Fantasy game

When Square realeased Final Fantasy Tactics after it's monumental success in Final Fantasy VII, it recieved some very harsh critisim for it's poor translation, among other things. But, Final Fantasy Tactics built a strong fan base, and I'm sure many still replay it today.
FFT is a game that took a different direction rather than a traditional RPG. Most of the game revolves around battles that are much harder than you may think. The manual even advises that you save after every encounter. Before a battle ensues, you can place usually up to 5 characters on a platform, which represents your side of the battlefield while the enemy starts on the other side. You then begin to advance, a little like chess, planning strategically to smite all the enemies before you.
I definitely agree with the people who say this game is hard. If you don't plan one character's move correctly, the whole battle may be out of your hands. But, if strategy games isn't your cup of tea, then don't get strategy games! FFT is a hard game, but it is definitely beatable and conquerable, it just takes a lot of time and patience.
All in all, Final Fantasy Tactics is an exceptional game. The engrossing gameplay, great graphics, story, and characters make it a must have for fans of the genre or considering fans.

get ma picture I was 11 and a huge fan of ff games so I say I mine as well complete this collection with the famous fft so I buy this game obivously the shoper man says "hey would ya like the strategy guide and I though I had alot store credit so why not as I left I notice this was the same situation with the game evolution and I bought the staregy guide with it and in that end I hated it but enough about that. The second I saw the begining I knew I was in for a good game and the begining battle was amazing (I ignored the strategy guide) I had so much fun in it and afer that the game became furocious in magic city of gariland (yes yes sounds stupid for you tatic geeks but I am bad at strategy based games) and after that I had no clue abosoluty NO CLUE OF THE JOB POINT SYSTEM and I played till sweegy woods and lost and thought it was hopeless 2 months latter I pick it up look at the battle system thing and then lose and put it down to this date i have picked it up again and have used the strategy guide which I'm proud to say and this game is amazing I'm enjoying every minute and the guide is so helpful for me
I highly recomend this EVERYONE!! this games storyline is a very depressing one but if your good at tatics buy it and if you're into the story slightly more and your bad at tatic battles (especially turn-based) then buy the stradegy guide it'll be needed thank you fer' reading BUY IT!!

Final fantasy tactics was...low on the scale of best final fantasy games of the year , mine at least. while the whole move only one the blue squares thing during battle was imaginative. Rhapsody and Arc the lad have simular concepts and are way better planed out .
the music for this game was fair but i got annoyed at it most of the time so i turned it on mute and listend to rock instead,
Graphics are alright the world view could have been better but i did like the images of the people though the could have fixed the faces ..they seemed...longer than normal faces
the mood of this game is dark and many might not get the plot. heck i stopped reading it after half an hour i got so confused, if you can bear to figure the storline out please tell me.
all in all though this gave me 10 hours of fun (or something to do after homework) it was alright, hard and confusing but ok. those of you who want to buy it . i suggest you rent it first and see how you like it.

I think Final Fantasy Tactics is the best game ever. Even through I beat it several times it's still fun. Its graphics are the best I have ever seen in a game like this.
