If you haven't play Dino Crisis 1,Then play the first before Dino Crisis 2,it will help you get reaady for this one.In the first game,Regenia,(dont know her how to spell her name)who a wepon expert for S.O.R.T,she got on the first island,It was hard, you dont know what going to happen in the game. When all of SORT made it off the island with their heads they thought the nightmare was over,a year past, and the game/moive(I like to think of both games as a moive too)comes out and in this game is way, diffent,Their are more then three kinds of dinosaurs, they dont pause for a few seconds, so you can shoot at them really fast, they jump on you before you even shoot. The best part of the game is the ending,I can't tell, but their is going to be a twist near the ending,so play Dino Crisis 2.Its great
This game is major MAYHEM!!!!

I recently brought Dino Crisis 2 and from the time the opening cinematics began, I knew I was going to be hooked on this game. The game is simply a master piece. You get to slaughter every major extinct reptile that walked the planet and you get to have fun doing it too. Plus, you actually get a crash course in basic facts about dinosaurs. Capcom have out done themselves on this project. Apart from the slaughter, you have to out think these giant lizards or face the bloody consequences of any foul ups. All in all, can't wait for Dino crisis 3 (hint).
Great game!

This is one of my fav games! Its much better than the first dino crisis and has more and better guns and dinos. One thing i like is you kill dinos and get points and you use points to buy new weapons/upgrades and to refill your ammo/ammo upgrades (hold more ammo)Its graphics are good. It has a cool mini game after you beat it where you pick who you want to be and your in this battle arena and theres dif stages with the different dinos untill you get to the final one with the big t-rex. This game is great and you should buy it!
WOW !!!!

I'm not much of a game player, but my husband LOVES playing this game---and I LOVE watching him play it. It's exciting and gets your blood pumping----really pumping. It's gory and violent---perfect for my husband. I never saw the first version, but this one is GREAT! I've watched my husband (a while back) play Resident Evil, and this is similar. If you like Resident Evil, you're sure to like this one. Except, instead of battling zombies, your fighting off dinasours. I loved Jurassic Park, so this is right up my alley. Just love to watch the game being played. Better than a movie. Highly recommend.
An Exciting Sequal

A military base, research center, and town have suddenly vanished without a trace. This incident is somehow related to the third energy, which was invented by Dr. Kirk in the last Dino Crisis. Again you take the role of Regina, plus the newcomer Dylan from T.R.A.T, you are sent to find out what happened and rescue the survivors. Now located where these buildings were located is a dense jungle full of - you guessed it, dinosaurs. Almost all of your team has been wiped out and you must somehow find you way out. This time the game focuses more on fighting than puzzle-solving. You must now have to kill the dinosaurs to earn extinct points to buy weapons, ammo, and medical supplies, which is very annoying. The replay value is good because you can then unlock the arena which you fight differnt types of dinosaurs in a pit/arena which can be loads of fun. Anyways, if you got some spare cash buy Dino Crisis 2.
Wonderful nonstop dinosaur-shooting action

The main problem with the original Dino Crisis is how it was exactly like the Resident Evil series in nearly every single way. I remember when Dino Crisis first hit the market, and everyone thought it would stand right next to the Resident Evil series as the next big groundbreaking thing. Six years later, and unfortunately we find that it didn't turn out that way. Turns out the Resident Evil games have gone on to become classics while the Dino Crisis series was left in the dark.
If you guys can remember back to the late 90's, the Dino Crisis series was pretty popular during the time when 3D games were the talk of the town for the N64 and Playstation (and the days of 2D games dominating the market were, unfortunately, just about over). Dino Crisis was a cool game because it was creepy, intense and pretty fun, just like Resident Evil. I think the similarity between Resident Evil and Dino Crisis turned out to be Dino Crisis's downfall, because players obviously preferred blasting zombies over dinosaurs.
Anyway, moving along to the review of Dino Crisis 2. Capcom decided to drastically change things for the second dinosaur adventure. I don't know if they did this because the first Dino Crisis was too similar to Resident Evil (and Capcom feared DC2 might be labeled a rip-off) or if Capcom simply felt a change would make Dino Crisis fans happier. Whatever Capcom's intentions were, Dino Crisis 2 completely blows the first one to pieces. I *completely* agree with Capcom's decision to change the direction of the series to a more action-packed style of gameplay. We already HAVE Resident Evil's creepy atmosphere to keep us happy, so there really was no point carrying on the Dino Crisis series the same way. It's a welcome change by me, because Dino Crisis 2 is MUCH more fun. Don't think I'm bashing the first Dino Crisis. It's just that we already have Resident Evil, so it was a good move (in my opinion) to make the second Dino Crisis nothing but *total* action.
All the reviews of Dino Crisis 2 are true: you pretty much do nothing but run around shooting dinosaurs. While you're running around, many times you will hear footsteps, and you don't know if those footsteps are behind you, in front of you, or from a tree to the left or right of you where a dinosaur is waiting to jump out in front of you and attack. This game may not be as creepy as the first Dino Crisis (and therefore, the Resident Evil series) but you'll *certainly* come across many dinosaurs in this adventure that will scare the living poop out of you, believe me. Dinosaurs are all OVER the place in this game. Big ones, small ones, and the neat thing is, for someone like me who never grew up fascinated with dinosaurs (unlike all the boys in my 2nd grade class) I STILL have a ton of fun learning about these mysterious creatures, thanks to the storyline in the game which gives you a LOT of detail on the dinosaurs you have (or haven't yet) come across. All you have to do is look around and you will certainly come across information that will help you learn about all the dinosaurs in the game.
I wouldn't say the difficulty is that hard, because every time you kill a dinosaur you get points, and these points are used to buy items and weapons. It's amazing to me how it hardly cost anything to completely fill any one of your guns. But at the same time, the game isn't easy enough where I can afford to buy the really expensive guns right away. I have to keep shooting at dinosaurs to be able to earn enough points to buy the REALLY awesome weapons. So it's not THAT easy. But it seems whenever I get low on medicine or bullets, a shop/save point is always right around the corner.
I love how many of the dinosaurs require a strategy to beating them. Especially the big dinosaurs. There's a few big dinosaurs in the game where you have to run, turn around and shoot, and then run forward again in order to defeat them. Just like the first Dino Crisis, those flying winged dinosaurs give me a lot of trouble. I haven't found an easy way to defeat them yet. All I can do is run away and hope they don't catch up to me. This is one bloody and violent game too. Blood pours from the dinosaurs when you shoot them, and a puddle of blood forms on the ground right where you kill them. The dead dinosaurs lay in a puddle of blood. It's gross, but cool, too.
The graphics are REALLY good. Certain parts of the game feel so real that you can't HELP but be a little scared when a dinosaur is chasing you. Especially when a big dinosaur is pounding the ground and the first thought that runs through your head is to run away, but sometimes you'll find that standing up and fighting is the best way to deal with it. This game also gets my vote for some of the very best cutscenes I've ever seen in a game. Not only do they look good, but they always deliver with plenty of action and excitement. You won't see cutscenes like that in the Resident Evil series (or if you do, it's not ALL the time). If you want, you can skip them. But make sure you watch them at least once, and you'll agree!
The story, well, I'm not much of a story person, but I find the story here to be interesting because it's about going back to the dinosaur time, and you walk around finding clues to help get you back to the present time. Don't worry, this game is mostly about shooting dinosaurs and staying alive, but you come across many clues in the game that go along with the story. I think Dino Crisis 2 works great for the players who want a lot of action, and the players who want a solid storyline.
There's other cool things you can do in the game. It's not all about running around shooting dinosaurs. You will eventually come across an underwater part of the game (and guess what, you're not alone down there!), a game where you are located on a boat and you quickly have to shoot all the dinosaurs flying and swimming toward you (think Star Fox), another game where you are riding on the back of a truck and you have to keep two rhino-dinosaurs (as I like to call them) from hitting your vehicle, and plenty of other games. I don't want to give too much away. Just don't expect the game to stay the same the whole way. The second half of the adventure is much different.
You really should pick up this wonderful (and addicting!) action game. I love Dino Crisis 2. It was a great change from the first one, and it's a lost classic Playstation game that everyone should play.
DC2 a must buy for DC fans.

Great game could use a few more puzzles. The new skill point system is ok could use some improvements. Example you get hit one time you automatically lose 2k points for taking damage, mabe would of been better so like you lose 500 points per hit. That way if you only get hit once you will still have 1500 points ect. I found the game to be very easy, but blasting away at dino's continuously is still fun. Wide range of weapons to choose from is a big plus over the first game.
The game is well worth the time to play, especially if you wanna know Regina's future from the first Dino Crisis. I can appreciate the hard work that went into this game re-playability is very high. Another solid title from Capcom.

Great Game! In My opinion it is a little better than the first (gameplay wise) at least. The only the thing I am hopeing is that they make the sequel to this game (they didn't do it with Dino Crisis 3 for X-box, but still a great game)because the ending makes you want more!! Well I guess we will just have to see if Capcom is planning to make it. Otherwise this is a great game to have in my PSX collection!!!
This one beats the first version, hands down.

I am a real fan of the "Resident Evil" style of games, but Capcom has really hit the mark with this game. Excellent control and character movement. Game objective is challenging, but not frustrating. I also enjoyed the short "arcade" portions in the game. If you want one thats fun and fast, but doesn't give you a mental meltdown to complete, this is it.
Great!

I loved this game. It is super fun and just difficult enough to be challenging but not so bad that you are frustrated and stuck. The dino's are wicked fun and unnerving. I love Regina she is awesome. Thumbs up!! ^_^
