This game is for kids, all you should do is running around and shooting lizards with unlimited ammo. There is NO puzzles to solve. I bought this game and complited it the same day.

Are you f**king kidding me! I read some of the previous reviews this product received and I would have to say that many of the reviewers are way off!

First of all, to be called survival horror, you have to have an element of horror. Where's the horror? There's no horror in this game. This is a straight up FPS with dinosaurs as the protagonists. They are neither scary nor unpredictable. If I wanted to fight hordes of dinosaurs I'd go play Jurassic Park. I want to be scared. I want to soil myself. Neither of these happened so I'm not happy.

Secondly, I agree wholeheartedly that this game lacks a viable storyline. The characters are about as a deep as a bird bath. I mean, c'mon people, Capcom turned Dino Crisis from an FPS survival horror game to just an FPS with little point to it and centered around a bloodbath with you as the main character hosing down enought velociraptors to create a whole bunch of really cool leather jacks and boot with. The puzzles suck and there is little thought in them at all.

The game has very few if any redeeming qualities. It's best quality is improved graphics. But overall, this one's a coaster or a frisbee or just a pile of plastic crap. You decide.

What has Capcom done???

I wasnt really too sure about buying this game, but I thought since all Capcom games are golden, this would be too. . .I was wrong. This is NOTHING like the first one. For instance: There arent any scary moments that have you changing your underwear. And there's WAY to much ammo and guns that you can buy thanks to those stupid "points" after killing dinos. There's really no challenge in this game. POINTLESS compared to Resident Evil where you have to save every bullet to kill the zombies. In this game you just run around shooting dinos that always re-apear seconds after there dead. The voice acting is decent, and there's plenty of scencs that keep the story moving, even if the story doesnt make too much sence. The CG movies are awesome, especially the intro. But thats about it. Not the best Capcom has done.

Cool game worth buying, but to many dino's, dont u think?

Dino Crisis 2 is an awsome game, i cant disagree with that! But the thing i didn't like was there too many dino's! THERE EVERY WHERE! What ever happened to the " get so scared you'll wet ur pance! The game isn't scary! It's like "shoot three or four dinos in one screen get ur points then run to the next screen and more dinos come out AND if u go back to the screen u were just in, MORE, yes...... MORE DINOS COME! And the worst thing is you've already killed them! I hate that! I also don't like the idea of getting point and buying guns and stuff! I (personally) think its funner to have to find weapons! Its just more challenging that way! I think that the first one is more better because (other than the stupid lack of ammo) it just........ well.......SCAREY! Its harder too. It takes like ten bullets from the glock in the first one to kill a raptor and in the second, i takes around 3! The game is still awsome and fun but too short and not scary enough. If u want to have to use the batheroom every 5 minutes then play Silent Hill! Or for that matter any of the Resident evils.

where's the storyline ?

This game is high on violence and low on story line especially when you compare it to DC1. If you like mindless bang, bang shot em up games then this is for you. The killing for points was too much and finding the weapons probably would have been better, being it's hard to determine what you really need and what is just waste. There wasn't a bond with any of the characters and I can't believe that Regina who was so pro team on DC1 would just walk away from someone she is on a mission with. The character David was a waste and probably got 5 minutes of screen time. On the up side the mini games where unique and the graphics got better toward the end.
It's not a bad game but I don't think I would play it again.

I just think the game is too arcadeish and not spooky as Dino Crises.

Plot line/fear effect

Well the plot line is good, but could use a little more oomph. I like the idea of running thru areas, but having to run only on a specific path is kinda boring, if you could run around the jungle a little bit more it would be a bit more exciting. and the Fear effect in this one is close to nil. In the original Dino Crisis at least things were sneaking up and poping out at you, in this one its kinda....here I am, you have to fight me. No real fear effect, and changing rooms while running thru the jungle is not really that great either. The movement is ok, but could be a little better. I mean its one of those if you are not right directly on target to do certain things, like using a keycard to open a door, it ain't gonna happen, so if your not on target you end up getting hit again and again by things while trying to find the exact spot you need to be in. If there is going to be a DC3 they need to make it a little more free on where you move instead of here is your path, you have to follow it or you dont get anywhere. Its like when the Triceratops are going by in the one walkway,(the same one later that you see the T-rex going by) you can't shoot them, you aren't seen by them and its kinda boring. Also why is there a scoring system in here, its supposed to be a survival horror style game, not a shoot em up fighting game that your out for the high score in. And as is when a game takes 2 hours to go thru it kinda makes you feel jipped, I've been thru the game 7 or 8 times now and can now do it in less than and hour and a half, whereas the first time I went thru it it only took me 2 and a half hours. Yet in the original, there is actually a reason to do what you were doing, DC2 has no reason. You dont save the ppl you were sent there to save, they all die in the raptor attack...You leave a team member behind, granted for his own personal reasons, but still, its not right to leave a surviving member behind. Although the FMV's are excellent, but this is best suited for teenagers, as it has none of the fear or suspense of the first one or the jump outta your seat thrills. At least in the original when the T-rex breaks thru the window and you have to fight it, the first time I saw that spot I litterally jumped about 3 inches off my seat. This one is best suited for a group of teenagers that just want to shoot and destroy everything. If you are a shoot em up fan, this is a good one for you. If you are a survival horror fan, leave this one on the shelf.

Okay, if all you want is no-brain action

Dino Crisis 2. Finally sat down to play this, and it's okay - it keeps the pace up, the dinos are mean and hungry, the graphics are as good as the PS1 gets, what more could you want? Well, a challenge, and a plot that doesn't fall apart would be nice. This ain't survival horror, because there's no survival, and no horror. The extinction point system takes all the intelligence out of the game - just run around shooting stuff and you can have the biggest gun going. The story just gets sillier by the minute, like the writers kept getting bored, and there isn't even an end, it just stops.
To be fair its a great arcade game, it looks really good and Regina is one hot tamale. It takes a lot of skill if you play for maximum points and the extra game sequences (like the crosshair games) vary the formula, but its no classic, and the jump to Xbox just proves that the Japanese home market could care less about any sequels. Sorry, but there it is.

I'm Impressed With Dino Crisis 2

When I rented this game from my local video store, I was hoping for a game that would scare the pants off of me. Although it didn't succeed in that area, this is a great game nonetheless. This game stands out from the rest of the horror genre and most other games because of its gameplay, graphics, and gore. After finishing the first level, which was basically walking along a path and blowing the crap out of velociraptors, I thought that I had figured out the gist of everything. Kill the dinos and live. But this game has you finding keys to unlock doors, retracing your steps, and using strategy to conserve ammunition of health. Of course, you do have to shoot a lot of dinosaurs. The graphics are some of the best I've ever seen. The framerate is smooth and the foliage is magnificent. I still watch the first cut scene just to look at the plants and try to decide if they're real or just animated. And the gore. Upon seeing the first movie after staring a new game, you can tell that this is a game that lets it all out. You are going to see dinosaurs get ripped apart in glorious fashion and you die in so many different ways it would make your head swim if I told you about them. There are a large variety of dinosaurs and areas you get to fight them in, which is nice. The extinction point system of earning points for kills and spending them on new items that will help you along the way is ingenious. It goes along perfectly with the style of gameplay. This game is an excellent addition to anyone's video game library.

Non stop Dino Blasting Action!

Dino Crisis was a great game in its time back when Resident Evil 3 was out. Now Capcom has released Dino Crisis 2! I like how in Dino Crisis Two you can hold you weapon out, ready to shoot while running or walking! That is very convienant for getting those combos in killing the dinos. Also I also like the idea of extinction points you recive you killing the dinos and bonus points for no damage, then you can us e them to by medkits, weapons, tools and essenital items proceed in the game. Each charector has their own set of weapons and tools, like the homing missiles for Regina and a powerful anti tank rifle for Dylan. The T-rex is back for some more bone crushing action, plus there is rumored to be an even bigger dinosaur than the T-Rex! Dino Crisis 2 is a non stop, dinosaur blasting action game. The dinos jump out of nowhere to get you and respawn at different places.

If you are a fan of Resident Evil or Dino Crisis, Dino Crisis 2 will not dissapoint you! It even has an Area game where you can buy Dinos at the end of the game and go head to head with your friends with your Favorite Dinosarus!
