I just recently purchased Dino Crisis 2 and let me tell you I love the game to death.I've always been a loyal fan to Capcom ever since Mega Man and I really adore Resident Evil.Dino Crisis 2 stomps it's prerequisite into the ground and I'm not downing the first one,but DC 2 as a lot more stuff that the first one didn't.1:you no longer have to worry about running out of ammo or recovery items on account you can now purchase them with extinction points you get by killng dinos,2:there are more CG scenes than in the 1st one,3:there is more of a variety of dinos not just Raptor,T-rex,Compy,ETC,now you got Allosaurus,Triceratops,3 varietys of Raptors, and much, much more. This is one game you'll wanna chomp on more than once.

AS A BIG FAN OF '' RESIDENT EVIL '' AND '' DINOCRISIS '' I WAS PATIENTLY ANTICIPATING THIS GAME'S RELEASE !! AND WAS I KNOCKED OFF MY SEAT PLAYING THIS GAME !! '' DINOCRISIS '' WAS A COOL GAME , BUT TOO MANY PUZZLES ; AND NOT A WIDE VARIETY OF DINOSAURS TO SLAY. BUT WITH THE NEW GAME - YOU NEVER GET BORED ONE BIT ! UNLESS YOU GET LOST .. TONS OF DINOS TO BLOW INTO EXTINCTION , AND THE POINT SYSTEM IS GREAT! KILL LOTS OF NASTY DINOS AND GET POINTS ! WHAT A CONCEPT MAN !! SHEER GENIUS ! AND THE MINI FIGHTING GAMES ARE COOL - IF YOU BUY ALL THE CHARACTERS.. THE ONLY PROBLEM IS THEY FIGHT TOO SLOW. BUT ALL THE MINI GAMES RULE !! TRY SHOOTING AT A CHARGING TRICERATOPS , MOSOSAURS UNDERWATER , A GROUP OF '' ALLOSAURS '' AND TREX AND PALS. PLAY IT !!! YOU WON'T BE LETDOWN ONE BIT !! WAIT TILL THE THIRD ONE IS OUT FOR PS 2 !!! RENT IT , BORROW IT , OR BUY IT !!!! BEST THING YOU'LL EVER PLAY !!!

Dino Crisis 2 is an awsome game, i cant disagree with that! But the thing i didn't like was there too many dino's! THERE EVERY WHERE! What ever happened to the " get so scared you'll wet ur pance! The game isn't scary! It's like "shoot three or four dinos in one screen get ur points then run to the next screen and more dinos come out AND if u go back to the screen u were just in, MORE, yes...... MORE DINOS COME! And the worst thing is you've already killed them! I hate that! I also don't like the idea of getting point and buying guns and stuff! I (personally) think its funner to have to find weapons! Its just more challenging that way! I think that the first one is more better because (other than the stupid lack of ammo) it just........ well.......SCAREY! Its harder too. It takes like ten bullets from the glock in the first one to kill a raptor and in the second, i takes around 3! The game is still awsome and fun but too short and not scary enough. If u want to have to use the batheroom every 5 minutes then play Silent Hill! Or for that matter any of the Resident evils.
Improved gameplay but to a fault

I rented this game and enjoyed it very much. I do intend to buy it. However, since I have yet to finish DC1, I figured I would only get through half of the game (at best) before I would have to return the game. I beat the game in one day. The problem is the new game design. I love it because you never have to worry about running out of ammo or health power ups. Not only can you blast away until your heart is content, it is recommended. You will need the points in order to buy characters in the dino arena game. You also don't have to worry about carrying your items. Once you have an item, it is with you until you use it or until the end of the game. It is these features that makes the game go so quickly. You don't have to do as much running back and forth to rooms and save stations as in the Res. Evils or DC1. You also don't need to buy many of the featured items to win the game. Here are some tips: {1} To beat the game, you'll only need to buy the mine tosser, the long flamethrower, the double guns, the anti-tank gun, the underwater cannon, and have 200 rounds for the shotgun. Everything else is extra. {2} With proper practice and positioning, you can earn big "no damage" points in certain areas. {3} Be patient with trapping the little dino. Get the dino in to the room at the far left, then into the lab, finally the cage. {4} Aim for the back of the triceratops dinos' heads when the run along side the car. {5} As an example of tip 2, use the double guns at the pier areas to kill A LOT of the water long neck dinos. This is your biggest opportunity to earn HUGE points.

Over a year has passed from part 1 and The Third Energy recklessly caused another inccident . Edward City has been replaced with a prehistoric jungle .You control as Regina and Dylan .There are 10 different dinosaurs and you can buy weapons with the points you earn for killing dinosaurs .This game looks better than part one .I suggest you buy this game if you like Resident Evil.
Plot line/fear effect

Well the plot line is good, but could use a little more oomph. I like the idea of running thru areas, but having to run only on a specific path is kinda boring, if you could run around the jungle a little bit more it would be a bit more exciting. and the Fear effect in this one is close to nil. In the original Dino Crisis at least things were sneaking up and poping out at you, in this one its kinda....here I am, you have to fight me. No real fear effect, and changing rooms while running thru the jungle is not really that great either. The movement is ok, but could be a little better. I mean its one of those if you are not right directly on target to do certain things, like using a keycard to open a door, it ain't gonna happen, so if your not on target you end up getting hit again and again by things while trying to find the exact spot you need to be in. If there is going to be a DC3 they need to make it a little more free on where you move instead of here is your path, you have to follow it or you dont get anywhere. Its like when the Triceratops are going by in the one walkway,(the same one later that you see the T-rex going by) you can't shoot them, you aren't seen by them and its kinda boring. Also why is there a scoring system in here, its supposed to be a survival horror style game, not a shoot em up fighting game that your out for the high score in. And as is when a game takes 2 hours to go thru it kinda makes you feel jipped, I've been thru the game 7 or 8 times now and can now do it in less than and hour and a half, whereas the first time I went thru it it only took me 2 and a half hours. Yet in the original, there is actually a reason to do what you were doing, DC2 has no reason. You dont save the ppl you were sent there to save, they all die in the raptor attack...You leave a team member behind, granted for his own personal reasons, but still, its not right to leave a surviving member behind. Although the FMV's are excellent, but this is best suited for teenagers, as it has none of the fear or suspense of the first one or the jump outta your seat thrills. At least in the original when the T-rex breaks thru the window and you have to fight it, the first time I saw that spot I litterally jumped about 3 inches off my seat. This one is best suited for a group of teenagers that just want to shoot and destroy everything. If you are a shoot em up fan, this is a good one for you. If you are a survival horror fan, leave this one on the shelf.

yes this game is fun but it needs some work. the dinosaures are WAY to easy to kill but there are swarms of them comeing at you and that makes it REAL fun. What is good about this game is that it has MANY new wepons.the 180 deggre turn is nice i this game......YOU NEED IT.The game is real easy to beat...but it is fun to play the game more then once. WARNING: this game is not scary, if you like scary games this is not the one for you....this game is only action and that is what the makers must have consentrated on.if you like games that take HOURS and HOURS to play and with pulzells this is DEFINATLY NOT THE GAME FOR YOU...like i have said before it is to easy and not a challange. i have not even fishied the first game....(i have rented 3 times for a week a piece and borrowed it for a 2 months)so over all the game is nice.THere is that littel ad on at the end. it is the dino colloseum or something like that. that is fun and makes you want to play the game more then once to get more dinos to fight with....what is REAL nice about the dino colloseum is that you can play with rick and the other guy.....i cant remeber his name sorry. well if you want a break from the first one then get this it will help you clear your thoughts and you have an easy game for once....hahahahahaha(RENT IT DONT BUY IT)
Okay, if all you want is no-brain action

Dino Crisis 2. Finally sat down to play this, and it's okay - it keeps the pace up, the dinos are mean and hungry, the graphics are as good as the PS1 gets, what more could you want? Well, a challenge, and a plot that doesn't fall apart would be nice. This ain't survival horror, because there's no survival, and no horror. The extinction point system takes all the intelligence out of the game - just run around shooting stuff and you can have the biggest gun going. The story just gets sillier by the minute, like the writers kept getting bored, and there isn't even an end, it just stops.
To be fair its a great arcade game, it looks really good and Regina is one hot tamale. It takes a lot of skill if you play for maximum points and the extra game sequences (like the crosshair games) vary the formula, but its no classic, and the jump to Xbox just proves that the Japanese home market could care less about any sequels. Sorry, but there it is.

Are you f**king kidding me! I read some of the previous reviews this product received and I would have to say that many of the reviewers are way off!
First of all, to be called survival horror, you have to have an element of horror. Where's the horror? There's no horror in this game. This is a straight up FPS with dinosaurs as the protagonists. They are neither scary nor unpredictable. If I wanted to fight hordes of dinosaurs I'd go play Jurassic Park. I want to be scared. I want to soil myself. Neither of these happened so I'm not happy.
Secondly, I agree wholeheartedly that this game lacks a viable storyline. The characters are about as a deep as a bird bath. I mean, c'mon people, Capcom turned Dino Crisis from an FPS survival horror game to just an FPS with little point to it and centered around a bloodbath with you as the main character hosing down enought velociraptors to create a whole bunch of really cool leather jacks and boot with. The puzzles suck and there is little thought in them at all.
The game has very few if any redeeming qualities. It's best quality is improved graphics. But overall, this one's a coaster or a frisbee or just a pile of plastic crap. You decide.
