Annoying Fencer Musashi

RPGs are my favorite genre. Especially action ones, which are few and far between. I was hoping this would be another "Zelda" or "Alundra" with better graphics. But it was simply annoying. I cringed the first time I heard Musashi's HORRID voice, and every other time I heard it. Big disappointment. The game was promoted as an RPG, but it doesn't remind me of an RPG. It's an annoying adventure game with annoying voice acting. The "hero" looks and sounds like a bratty ten year old. Definitely not for everyone, especially someone expecting a typical RPG. Don't disappoint yourself like I did. This is the first time I ever returned a game, in the same night to boot! Rent it first!
Doesn't compare to Zelda!

I bought this game because Square is my favorite developer of video games. Too say the least I was very disapointed. A very short game, took me less than 12 hours to beat it. Mediocre story line at best. Voice acting decent but not inspiring in the least. In my opinion there is little to no replay value. Where are the days of Secret Of Mana? I asked myself many times when playing this so so game.

Brave Fencer Musashi is one of the most horrid things ever to come out of Square. In fact, the only game by square that is worse is Ehrgeiz. The gameplay in Musashi is okay but the dubbing and puzzles are all very low rate, if you're looking for a fantastic RPG, check out Xenogears or Final Fantasy (any of them).

I can't belive the reviews I am reading on this game, because I owned it, and I am writing this review to make sure that other people don't make the same mistake that I did.
We all love Square, but come on, sometimes they don't make the best games. The only problem is that their fans are so loyal that they won't let anything bad be said about even the few square game that are not good. Final Fantasy 5: bad storyline, I mean bad, fun gameplay, but none of the diehard fans will admit that it is a bad game. Musashi, same problem: horrible storyline, and I swear to god some of the most annoying side characters in gaming history. I wanted to kill the princess myself. She talks, *giggles* totally like this, and the worst, like thing, like, is that she like has audio of all her speeches *giggle*. And once you beat the game you probably won't come back 4 more. If you are under the age of 13 or 12, though, you might enjoy this game, so this review is dependent on age.
But really, before you dismiss this review, it is not the worst game, it is bad, but come on other reviewers don't recommend this game as a must have, u know it's not that good. Buy Vagrant Story instead, loads of replay value, probably the best story-line on the PS, and graphics and look are original, I've never seen a game like it, the development team broke up after it, so it will remain an anomaly. Or Parasite Eve 1, that's the closest I've seen a game come to a movie and still have gameplay and an actuall game included with it. Anyway, this is an honest review, I warned you don't buy the game, you most likely won't enjoy it.
Not for your average gamer

I am a professional gamer and this is the hardest game i have ever played, not only that, but there is rarely any action to it, so dont let the beginning fool you, this game is worth it if you are professional, i beat it, but not very many people have, ... the worst buy i have ever bought, so dont get it unless it's cheap
Pretty boring, really...

A dud from Square, who could have imagined... ;)
This game wouldn't have been so bad if it hadn't been for the awful voice overs and boring puzzles. There is one you have to go back and do again and it was awful the first time!
The people wrapped in crystals that you have to wake up is fairly interesting as are the collecting skills from monsters. Also, the day to night aspect is very nice. These do not make up for an overall lack of excitement throughout the game...
Cute, but...

Not that interesting or hard. The dubbed voices were horrible. I wonder if Square was aiming at their own sorta answer to the Popopocrois games or something with the SD designs and all. I think it's probably worth taking a look at, if you like square games. The whole, samurai dropped in the middle of a midieval fantasy world thing was a bit much for me, though.

Brave Fencer Musashi is yes, fun, a great deal kidsy? yes, and the voices in the game are a way to drive away the gameplayers. It's not very much like Zelda I thought either. However I liked alot of the way things worked such as the assimmilating ability that Musashi gains. You can rescue the members in the town that have been frozen and distributed throughout the world. By rescuing these town members you can get armor, items, and new things in shops for your deeds. The story is fun to watch and the battle system never gets old. This game's about a young samurai boy who gets transported to the world in the game (I forgot what it was called) and he must save a princess that's been captured by several different people throughout the game. Musashi can also gain levels by defeating enemies and gaining experience such as most RPGs have it. The puzzles aren't too difficult so it's a game you can play through and not have to worry about being stuck on a puzzle for too long. I'd reccomend this game to most RPG players who just wanna unwind from most games. It's a joke for the vetrans. ~Seth~
Its a pretty good game

If your looking for a hard game this is the one for you. Since it looks like a childrens game you think its easy. Let me tell you something, this game is anything BUT easy. Great game but not the best. Nice action RPG but after a while the game just gets boring. The music is quite good not better then Final Fantasy but good. The gameplay is good also but the camera angle just isn't enough. You could find yourself constantly trying to get the right angle. You can't carry enough items and its kinda short. Nice animation and voice actors. Next is the in game clock. One this isn't always useful. Since sometimes you have to be at some place at the right time and other times you have to wait until a certain day to do something. Next is you could fall asleep right in the middle of even a boss fight! You have to buy lots of Mints to stay up and that could take some space. The good way to counter this is to fall asleep in the middle of the field all by yourself so that you can't be attacked, but anyway good game. The ending isn't all that great but the gameplay is very good.
