Great gameplay, but the voices get annoying!

For RPG fans and adventure fans alike, this game is for you. It combines the two so perfectly that it is a great gaming experiance. However, this is only put down by the annoying voices.

Great Game!

This game was SOOO much fun! I don't know why it never became more popular! It's one of my favorites.

A game very much like Zelda, Musashi is a young boy who is summoned to another land to save the kidnapped princess. To do so, he must find parts of the legendary sword Lumina and break the spells cast over the five scrolls. Thus, Musashi embarks on a long journey. He strolls around town, shops at the local stores, climbs the nearby mountain, and, of course, has to defeat numerous meanies.

Besides the obvious role-playing/puzzle solving fun, there is plenty of battle to be done with the enemies, which becomes very exciting when you can actually absorb the powers of just about any creature in the game. There are also lots of little fun perks along the way, such as your dance contest with one the head of the Leader's Force (how else would Musashi fight a girl?)

I would highly recommend this game to anyone who is interested in role-playing/platform combination games, especcially if you are a Zelda or Final Fantasy fan. This game is exciting, unpredictable, funny, and it will keep you up all night!

Different taste

Brave Fencer Musashi is yes, fun, a great deal kidsy? yes, and the voices in the game are a way to drive away the gameplayers. It's not very much like Zelda I thought either. However I liked alot of the way things worked such as the assimmilating ability that Musashi gains. You can rescue the members in the town that have been frozen and distributed throughout the world. By rescuing these town members you can get armor, items, and new things in shops for your deeds. The story is fun to watch and the battle system never gets old. This game's about a young samurai boy who gets transported to the world in the game (I forgot what it was called) and he must save a princess that's been captured by several different people throughout the game. Musashi can also gain levels by defeating enemies and gaining experience such as most RPGs have it. The puzzles aren't too difficult so it's a game you can play through and not have to worry about being stuck on a puzzle for too long. I'd reccomend this game to most RPG players who just wanna unwind from most games. It's a joke for the vetrans. ~Seth~

Doesn't compare to Zelda!

I bought this game because Square is my favorite developer of video games. Too say the least I was very disapointed. A very short game, took me less than 12 hours to beat it. Mediocre story line at best. Voice acting decent but not inspiring in the least. In my opinion there is little to no replay value. Where are the days of Secret Of Mana? I asked myself many times when playing this so so game.

Another Masterpiece

A engrossing story combined with a breath taking soundtrack make this a very good game. It's what you would expect from Squaresoft. It's graphics are sometimes choppy, but the large and egrossing area's make up for it. It's story is at times joking and then serious. The music is very emotionally conveying. Brave Fencer Musashi can be cosidered on of Squaresofts best games.

ONE OF THE BEST GAMES OF 1998

THIS WAS THE BEST GAME OF 1998. NO QUESTION ABOUT IT. IT BLEW THAT STUPID XENOGEARS OUT OF THE WATER. THE CHARACTERS WERE GREAT, VOICES WERE GOOD, COOL WEAPONS. MUSASHI WAS JUST AN ALL AROUND COOL GUY. HE HAD LUMINA AND FUSION(COOL NAMES FOR A SWORD) AND A HAIRDOO THAT LOOKS LIKE SONIC THE HEDGEHOG. THIS IS DEFINATELY IS DEFINATELY WHAT I THOUGHT OF THE OLD LEGEND OF MUSASHI.

#1 Game

Best game, I loved it! Great graphics, sound, voice, bosses, you name it. If the rating went up to 10, I'll give it 10! Figuring out the puzzles and tricks were great, especially the ice temple. Two thumbs and to toes up!

Pretty boring, really...

A dud from Square, who could have imagined... ;)

This game wouldn't have been so bad if it hadn't been for the awful voice overs and boring puzzles. There is one you have to go back and do again and it was awful the first time!

The people wrapped in crystals that you have to wake up is fairly interesting as are the collecting skills from monsters. Also, the day to night aspect is very nice. These do not make up for an overall lack of excitement throughout the game...

Great gameplay!

It may not be a Final Fantasy VIII, but it is very good. The graphics good and so is the soud, the music is the best I have heard in a game for a long time. Somehow, it managed to have great gameplay value, providing about 15 hours (alot for me.) and levels and places that keep you interested in the game, I definatly recommend this game to anybody looking for a different type of game. The only bad part about this game is that the voices are somewhat annoying, but it can be ignored. This game is a game that not many people have looked into, but it is one that is worth looking into.

Brave Fencer Musashi is one of the most horrid things ever to come out of Square. In fact, the only game by square that is worse is Ehrgeiz. The gameplay in Musashi is okay but the dubbing and puzzles are all very low rate, if you're looking for a fantastic RPG, check out Xenogears or Final Fantasy (any of them).
