IT has good strategies good game play(exept for controls on mac)

Starcraft truly is good till the last drop--of another annoying zergling or some rogue spacecraft.

This game most definitely deserves to be on all-time greatest games list. The AI is superb, the graphics leave little to be desired, and the game interface is very simple. Any old Joe can pick this game up, and in a matter of minutes know what they're doing. But by the same measure, you can play for hours and still not know all there is to know about the game. Yes, there are certain 'bugs' in the AI, and the gameplay, but you can't do like you could with the old Sega hockey games, fake left, right, back left, and flip it past the goalie every time....

I love the game. It is a great action game. But if you are looking for a game to sit down for fifteen min. and get off, Don't get this. I took me 4 hours to complete one level. I am stuck on one level and it is stressful. But over all it is a good game. It has never frozen on me. It is not slow at all. It is definitely a difficult game. That's cool though, cause then when you beat the level, you feel better. I reccomend this game to anyone who loves hard games. By the way I am 13 so it may only be hard to younger kids.

After playing this the first time with about six others in the same house, I could not get enough of this. I'm not a hardcore gamer but I am a sucker for a decent strategy. Starcraft definitley sets the standard for civilization/war simulation. Each of the three races are fun and have their strengths and weaknesses, I recommend playing all of them. What really impresses me most about Starcraft is after three years of playing similar games with beefed up graphics and ten times more options, I find myself still playing it. That's a great game for you. Buy it, worth it.

Not much to say - the title says it all. Although a game of 1998, and possibly out-of-date, still an old time classic and the most playable Real Time that I have played.
The story is amazing, and the balance fantastic. Whomever has not tried it has to. It is a must for all respectable Real Time players...

I first bought this game expecting it to be a lot like 'orcs in space'. I was sorely mistaken. While the graphics are not true 3-d, the game experience is awesome. The one thing that bothered me with a lot of RTS games before this came out were the similarity between sides. With this game it was different. The Terrans were the easiest to get into because of the similarities with the humans on Warcraft II. The Zerg and Protoss were different though. The Zerg reminded me a lot of the Aliens in Aliens. The Zerg are feral creatures that can produce massive numbers in mere seconds. The Protoss on the otherhand are a lot like the Predator race. They are technologically superior to both the Zerg and Terrans, and a group of 10 Protoss Zealots can quickly level a massive brood of Zerglings or a large armada of Marines and Firebats. That is what I liked about this game. The balance between each of the races, something many RTS games did not have before this game. Not only that, the story was very deep and involving, although some of the missions were a little difficult. All in all though, this game is well worth your time and effort to play, so I do suggest you buy it if you haven't already.

If you're looking for a good strategy game, look no further. Simply put, this is one of the top 5 real time strategy games ever made!!!

Starcraft--this game will obviously keep you hooked on for hours! You are allowed to choose one of the the following races: Zerg, Protoss, and Terran. Each race has different techniques that you can explore and have fun with. When you sit down and start playing, you are stuck there for a couple of hours playing without knowing the time passing. I recommend this game for everyone (even though it's rated Teen.) Trust me, this game rocks!

Starcraft is by far the best game out there. There are just no games that can top it. Starcraft combines the two best features of video games: Strategy and Fighting. In Starcraft, you choose from one of three characters: Terran, Zerg, or Protoss. All of them are great. Terran's advantage is that with it, you can build better barriers so that the enemy cannot get to you as quickly. Zerg reproduces very fast, and can build armies that are huge in number. Protoss builds buildings fast, and has the most powerful armies. Each person has their own favorite, and no one is statistically better than the other.

One great feature about Starcraft is that you can play either single-player vs. the computer, or you can play multiplayer games against people on the internet. With the multiplayer games, you can create your own channel to play your friends. Also, in the multiplayer games, you can talk to your opponents and friends while you are playing.

Once you play this game, you will not be able to stop, and you will have so much fun with this. I recommend buying this game as soon as possible. You won't be sorry.

When Starcraft hit software shelves all these many months ago, I had high hopes. They were met completely. I've played every RTS out there. Age of Empires, Dark Reign, Age of Empires 2, the entire Command and Conquer series. Starcraft is better than all of them.

Starcraft is like having three games in one. First you get to play the Terrans, then you start on the Zerg campaign. It was like starting a new game. The three races are so different that the game has almost endless possibilities. I was sucked into it and still play it on a regular basis. It was the best $ I ever spent on a computer game.
