5 stars is not enough to explain this game, i would have to give it a 10 out of 5. This game is awesome. Classic Diablo 2 was awesome, and now they added onto it with many more items, brand new charms, and jewels. If you thought Diablo 2 is fun, wait till you play the expansion pack, especially the brand new 5th act, I have been watching and waiting for the release of this marvel, and now i have it. I just can't explain the wonder in words, it is amazing, anyone can get hooked with this games, even your own mother! This game is especially awesome if you play with friends because that adds to the gaming experience. You can even go to ...and check out some awesome screenshots if you don't believe me, but there is alot more than what you see in those screen shots.
best expasion set yet!!

Online gaming is relatively new to me. Diablo 2 is the first exposure I've had to massive multiplayer gaming. I have to say that even though it's got it's flaws, it's not a bad place to start.
The plot is simple. You choose 1 from a menu of 5 (7 in expansion) warriors to stop the world from being overrun by minions of a Devil-like demon. Each warrior type has unique spells/combat moves/abilities to help them. But YOU choose what abilities they specialize in as you cannot master every one of their abilities. This allows each class to have several different ways to build them up. Collect special weapons/gear to enhance your abilities or even give you new ones. Half the fun is finding new awesome gear to make you stronger. There is no limit to what kind randomly generated items can be found but specific rare and unique collectible gear are the true prizes if you can find them.
Reasons to play:
Unlimited Online Play is free
Connecting is as easy as say, logging into email
You don't need a 3-d accelerator to have this game
It performs well on my 6 year old computer
It's fun
No shortage of fan-made guides and strategies
Flaws:
The Blizzard servers lag fairly often
Only 8 players per game
It doesn't have cutting edge graphics (but they still look fine)
Finally You can't store all the items you want to on one game, if you need to trade items between different characters you've made, you need a trustworthy friend to hold them for you while you log in and out with different characters to drop/pick-up items.
Ways to get the most out of this game:
Choose a character and read an online guide on that character to figure out a good way to build stronger. Start with a simple yet strong character like a "Hammerdin" or a "Summoner Necromancer" and then branch out with new characters as you become more comfortable. Start playing games online solo or witha friend. You'll enjoy the game most if you're actually building characters that can compete on higher levels. Since the game is cheap, you might interest a friend in purchasing the game with you. Playing together online is more fun.

Blizzard Entertainment's Diablo II expansion is an immensely fun and entertaining experience. Sticking very close to the original's formula, the expansion improves upon Diablo II in a variety of ways. Your expansion character is given a much larger stash and an additional space on his/her person with which to carry one extra set of weapons. Your hirelings now level up and you can equip them with armor and weapons. There are two new main character classes, the Assassin and Druid, which provide a break from the original five with their unique amalgam of skills. The new stage in which Act V takes place is immense, much larger than any of the previous levels and it provides new monsters and many more opportunities to level up your character. There is a smattering of new unique and magical items and weapons. Perhaps the biggest and most welcoming change is the update to the resolution. You can now view the action in 600x800 resolution. When you flip this on and play for a while you will really wonder how you ever put up with anything else. Diablo II: Lord of Destruction fully lives up to and exceeds the expectations of a Blizzard game.

This is a great game, my buddies and I play it as often as we can. The expansion was a good add on to Diablo II, I liked all of the new items, classes, etc. I think this is a game most would enjoy.

I played the original diablo II for a long time before this came out. This was a great improvement to one of the best games that I have ever played. If you are a real diablo II fan get this and you can love the game even more.

Years ago, when I was but a whippersnapper, everyone else was playing this game. I was behind the curve. I picked up a used copy of Diablo the first, and was instantly hooked on that hack-and-slash experience and the sound of monsters and treasure hitting the floor of a dungeon. So of course, I had to get this game. Over the years, I have spent well over $[...] on this game, buying copies of it for my brother and friends, and to replace mine when I lose it. Surprisingly, this game still provides new challenges even though I am now in college whereas I picked it up in middle school. Tons of people play this on battle.net, and there are lots of fun mods for the game as well. At this point in my life, I go through phases of playing it. About once or twice a year, I will dig it out and play through it again for about a month.

Years ago I wasted months of my life playing this game over the LAN with my husband. In anticipation of Diablo III my husband and I re-installed Diablo II. I must admit we un-installed it immediately. The graphics are just HORRIBLE by todays standards. The highest resolution the game will play is 800x600 and the colors were awful. Blood spatter was literally showing in little red pixels. We should have known better when noticing the game will run on Windows 95. Please, Blizzard, hurry up and release III already. You've taken way too long.

After completing Diablo II I needed something else to give me a rush, I was playing round the clock, pausing only for the necessities.
The only way to get back to my life was by physically destroying the discs.
After becoming the Lord of Destruction myself, I finally rejoined the world and also got a job...
