I'm new to Xbox games, but I got this one because I like dungeon-crawls/shooters,ala "Diablo 1,and 2." I found this game to be even more addictive than Diablo, something I thought I could never say.
The graphics are pretty cool. The sounds, music and voices are suitably creepy.I have only been able to play single mode, but have had a lot of fun killing all the available enemies. If I could only find another 56 year old who would like to play!!
The quests are well thought out.The placement of "items to find" isn't too difficult to master. The quests are not very easy by yourself, which is fine with me.
I just love the game, and will replay it often.
Must have Xbox Classic

This game has been out for a while. Part II is even out, but this one is great. It's a 1st gen Xbox game that you should own. I went through the entire game with a friend and we had a blast. You can have up to 4 people at a time play and the mayhem just keeps on comming.
Rent it first

I was less than thrilled with this game, going solely off of the White Wolf name without at least renting it first or investigating why the price tag dropped from $50 to $20 at most stores. What you get is a product with a workable storyline that is virtually unplayable. First off, you can't change your camera angle -- the game decides it for you. This makes it difficult to tell where the next hoard of zombies is coming from. Aiming is almost impossible, so you'll empty most of your ammo clips into the air before that hoard of zombies closes in on you. Finally, the characters respond sluggishly to the controls. I could have lived with the camera angle and poor aiming system if my aspiring Hunter wasn't lumbering around like a pregnant water-buffalo. Ultimately, a disappointing addition to my X-Box collection.
just what i was looking for

This game is sweet. I love cooperative games, and this one was definantly not a dissapointment. It has plenty of blood and gore, and also tons of fun with a little tuffness added to it. If your looking for a party game, here you go.

Hunter: The Reckoning. This game is not what it seems, it's a radical departure from most console gaming and calls for very specific gameplay to turn it in to what I believe is unquestionably, the best 4 person cooperative videogame on this planet.
... As a single player game it would rate no higher than one star... very difficult, very repetitive. There are a lot better games out there for single players.
... As a two player game it rates three stars, now you beginning to see the potential that exists in this game all of a sudden it becomes a little less difficult and the repetitive gameplay is a little less annoying. It's beginning to be fun.
... As a 3 player game, it moves to four stars, it is really fun, strategy becomes important and necessary among the three players adding a totally new face to this game while dealing out very deadly consequences to your video monsters. At this point the game is excellent.
... As a 4 player game you are in a totally different universe. It must be reviewed separately than a single or multiplayer up to 3 players... the four player game is awesome. The participants are yelling back and forth at one another hooping and hollering while dealing out massive destruction to the bad guys. There is nothing boring-there is nothing repetitive. The absolute most fun I've ever had been other multiplayer videogame since I started playing them in 1981 in arcades. Very, very reminiscent of Gauntlet in the mid-80s.
I BELIEVE THIS GAME SHOULD BE PURCHASED AS A MULTIPLAYER GAME... ONLY! (Caps Emphasis Only)
The graphics are first-rate XBox especially when you consider how many objects there are on the screen at the same time, the frame rate never misses a beat, the animation is stunning, each character is given individual characteristics which are so appropriate that you began to relate to each one with a different fantasy hero quality. Well done!
My favorite character is Kassandra the Martyr. This rave chick has the sassyest swagger you'd ever want to see in the videogame. She's the fastest character and is very, very deadly no matter what weapon she has. She maintains her health the longest because her speed helps you get out of the way of the bad guys before they can strike. Her spells turned her into a whirling dervish, almost invincible! What a hoot!
Really Fun

This game is great. You walk around with a melee weapon and some sort of long range weapon and kill zombies. What could be more fun? The bosses are very challenging and when you have four people playing at the same time it can be great. For instance the second boss is a giant possessed teddy bear who throws up stuffing on u. One person distracks him while the others shoot. The only bad parts are the camera because u cant rotate it so u can see better. Also some missions like freeing lost souls can be annoying because u first have to kill all the zombies then free the souls. Sometimes the souls can be hard to find and take a while to find them. Overall this game is great if u like to walk around and just kill zombies. Its alot like Zombie Revenge.
Great Game for mindless fun!

This game is extremely fun! you get your four characters, which is cool and each has different skills, and as you play more with your character, they attain up to 3 skills, in which 2 of the characters have rejuvenate, which heals themselves and those around them.
game is easy to play, but character building is game specific, i mean that each level and boss you beat is saved as a scene, with your increased character stats. however, if you were to go back to a previous scene or start a new game, you would have to rebuild your character.
another thing is, camera angles can become terrible! that was the most frustrating part of the game. bosses are not terrible to beat, you have to use the "right" type of weapon against them.
all in all, a very fun button mashing game!
impressive but boring

First of all the graphics are excellent and produce a gloomy, scary arcade feel unlike anything else, scarier even then Silent Hill. Secondly, if you don't make it through a level, just like in an arcade game, you restart automatically at that same level. You don't have to go back to the beginning or to your last save point. In fact, the "save point" is the level itself. You yourself don't save at all in the game, the game does it for you. This is a double-edged sword as it gives it an almost too "arcade-y" feel. I don't know about you, but I didn't get my XBox to feel like I'm feeding it quarters. If you go in for a lot of violence, however, and prefer arcade to console games, this game may be more for you. Actual game play is difficult - at first. In the beginning, having all kinds of these zombie-like creatures coming at you at once is scary and intimidating. After repeating the same level a few times, though, you become more confident and eventually develop a strategy. Thus, it's more like a fighter-brawler type game than an RPG. In fact, it has almost no RPG elements. Also, almost no story. You spend hardly any time searching for keys or solving any puzzles. You spend most of your time just killing. This can become boring quite quickly. I find there are no problems with the execution of the concept, it's the concept itself of the game that needs work. All of its character comes from the character of the fighting in it. Although the fighting itself is presented in beautiful enviornments and is quite imaginative, it can also become quite boring as well. It's not the type of game you would play hours at a time. Just a few here, a few there.
The Aiming System

I see that a lot of people are very confused about the aiming system in this game, actually, it is quite simple and easy to master, and, very useful. The right control stick is for movement, and the left one is for aiming, you can move one way, and aim/shoot the opposite way, I guess the other reveiwers didn't read the instruction manual. I also love the use of magic, it is really cool. The game is very fun and challenging, especially with multiple people because the game gets sooo much harder with each additional person. Overall, this game is great.
A very fun game.

It is somewhat hard, no codes. But it one of the most fun games on the x-box since Halo, and it will compete with Brute force in my book for the # 1 spot.
But if you are weak at heart you might want to ster clear of it, due to the grusome, bloody....... fun! This game exels in the x-box's prosseser from a train staion to the sewers, the blood looks real and the dismembering is awesome!!
