Forget about previous paintball games you have played... This game will blow them away! Those who have played the game before the release (like proffesional paintballers etc.) have been astounded by the gameplay. This game will be what Halo 2 should have been for XBOX live. You will be able to play all of your favorite paintball games like capture the flag online in cooporative play. This game is like Socom and Halo combined. If your not siked up for this game you should be, because it will rock your world! Just imagine all of the fun of paintball being at your fingertips at all times...or if you like war games, this will be as close to fighting in the trenches as you will get (except with paintballs).
Better than expected

This is a type of game where the fun factor increases as you play more and a lot more. At first, I felt the game play is a bit slow--due to not so good equipment/gears, the player skill levels, player's partner's levels, etc. Once you can improve some of these aspects, it becomes better to play.
In the singel mod game, you can play 19 tournaments in 20 locations, with 179 field layouts. The game claims having 145 pieces of licensed gear, 39 real life players with 14 Pro players. In Multiplayer mode it supports 14-player head-to-head.
It's VERY easy to learn. I've been playing plenty of FPS games (currently, Ghost Recon 2 and Halo 2) and controller setting is no different from the usual FPS setups. Aiming is a little different because the quality of your gun and equipment changes the accuracy, velocity and distance of shooting. No worries, it's still easy to hit targets. Targets (your opponents) wear nice, bright outfit. It's super easy to spot enemies unlike Ghost Recon2.
The tutorial takes you through the basics of getting started-moving, shooting, jump-diving, switching the gun from left hand to right hand, and refilling paint. In fact, you can skip the tutorial, b/c the first game itself is the tutorial. Once done with tutorial, you begin the tournaments. It's been pretty tough for me to get used to the game play. Part of it is that in the beginning, you have very little skills and amateur partners. With this combination, it's tough to beat good opponents. Once you win some tournaments, it gets more interesting. With the prize money, you can upgrade your gears and eventually get better partners. To improve and to gain better gun/gear is an incentive to play a lot of single player mode. I've played the multiplayer mode on Xbox live only once. The game that I was playing online teams up with other online player (as your partner) agaist your opponents. Perhaps because all of us online were strangers, communication was poor. No strategic decisions were made. We went around shooting. I could see that it'd be more fun to play with friends as your teammates. I wish more of my friends would get this game. It's a nice change of pace from playing recent FPS games (GR2 and Halo2). This is a good non-violent game for those reluctant to buy first person shooter games for your kids.

This game is a blast. The gameplay is groundbreaking (snap shooting left and right, overhead shooting, cheat meter...). If you don't believe me, check out the official reviews at teamxbox.com and ign.com. It received a higher score than major titles like "Call of Duty: Finest Hour."
It puts the fun back into video games. For parents looking for a title that relies on blood and gore to make it interesting, this is game non-violent. However, it doesn't mean your kid won't spend lots of time trying to beat the game though.
Thousands are playing on Xbox live, and it's only been out for a little over a week. Come join the fun.
VERY AWESOME

i dont own this game personally but my neighbor has one and i played it at his house couple of times and i just became addicted. I, myself, do actually go paintballing 2 or 3 times a month. This game is very realastic to the real life of paintballing. At first, when you try it, u may not like it because it's hard to control ur aimings but you get used to it and it's easy. This game coming out is bascially the reason I'm getting a XBOX! PLUS you can play this game on XBOX LIVE which is awesome. buy this game and you wont regret it
A great paintball game.

I got this game for Christmas and it has been highly addictive. I started out sucking quite horribly until I got used to the controls. I like that at the start there is a walk-through tutorial on how to do everything. Once you get used to it, the controls are very easy and smooth. You can actually do things like they were meant to be done on the field.
I'll now break my review down into some of the aspects of the game:
Equipment: They did a pretty good job licensing and rendering a good variety of gear. I like that they put stats of everything so you can see if the certain item is better than the item you are currently using. The only thing that annoys me is that your team mates can have guns that you cannot.
Gameplay: Being an avid paintballer, I find this game extremely addicting. I played it for over six hours right when I got it and have been frequently visiting my xbox ever since. The game does a wonderful job of simulating the sounds and action of paintball. You can hear the paintballs whizzing by your head and the characteristic pop of a paintball hitting a sup' air bunker. Great stuff. I also love the game's fast pace. In the beginning when you suck, the computer also sucks making you feel good about yourself. The game gets progressively more intense and you start to find your groove. I now have every match down to a science.
Cheat Meter: I hear a lot of bad comments about the cheat meter. Yes it is not very morally correct. Yes I hate cheaters and think they negatively affect the sport of paintball, however; In the game it would be five times more difficult if the cheat meter were not there. I get hit usually at least once per game and thanks to the cheat meter, I can stay in and get some more eliminations. The game would be too frusterating otherwise. I think they could've made the cheat meter more challenging or eliminate it altogether without sacrificing its benefits: Let there be a random chance of ball bounces, etc. Ref determines if you are hit or if it is a bounce.
Fields: Excellent. Very diverse field selection. Makes play fun since there are tons of different fields.
Music: Not many songs, but very luckily they allowed you to be able to upload your own. Excellent.
Multiplayer: I'm quite disappointed that there is no split screen, but it would make cheating very easy (looking at your opponent's screen). I haven't played on xbox live yet but it should be very fun.
General Impression: I can tell that this game wasn't high up on activision's priorities since it doesn't quite have the depth of other games--but--being a paintballer and appreciating all things paintball related, I find this game to be quite satisfactory, especially considering that all the other paintball games to date have sucked.

Being pretty into paintball, and having spent (way) too much time playing Ghost Recon 2 and Halo 2, I didn't expect much out of this game. Still, for the price (go to Best Buy to pick this up for significantly less than listed) I thought I'd give it a shot. And man, was I shocked.
The graphics are excellent. Not Ghost Recon excellent, but definitely good enough, and well above what I expected. No poly-clipping or slowdowns, smooth animation and movement, and nice little details like the magic puff at the end of the barrel.
The sound is a little gimpy. The general audio and the player babble is fine, the referee sounds good, and the "god" voice sounds like something out of Mortal Kombat. The music/soundtrack is definitely too limited and kind of niche-y, but it's mostly acceptable. Not the strongest point in the game, but it doesn't really take away from it.
The gameplay is where this game *really* shines. It is absolutely amazing how well it captures what actual paintball play is like. Snapping, running, diving, popping up, switching hands, it's all there, and it's all pretty intuitively put together. I thought this would just be a rehash of an older FPS engine with a 'paintball' motif, but it's actually a well put together engine that really takes into consideration a lot of the aspects of pball. There's even cheating, and while I originally thought that'd be a really silly thing, it's actually so well implemented that it really adds to the game.
Some things that shone less are the AI of your teammates and the online play. Your teammates (especially in the initial tournaments) are pretty useless, but as you improve (and the quality of your teammates improves) they actually do score hits and even pick up the flag. There's no way to speak with them, though, so the tactical aspects of paintball (at least in single-player mode) aren't really addressed.
Online play is where I really expected this game to be out of control, especially after playing the single-player. Unfortunately, Xbox-Live! games only last about 30-40 seconds as everyone basically runs around bunkering. Larger games (with more players) are somewhat better, but even the slightest lag makes the game unplayable. The observation mode once you're tagged out is really nice, though. If you play with friends on a consistent basis, you can really start communicating and making tactical decisions that add serious dimension to the game.
Even for full price, this game is worthy, particularly if you're even remotely into paintball. For any discounted price it's worth it, period. This game qualifies as a true 'sleeper', because it was designed to appeal to a very niche market but the gameplay is good enough to be enjoyable across the whole spectrum, regardless of age or involvement in paintball.
All told, the game's a blast.
WOW

Simply amazing, this game is a must have for any xbox owner. Its fun its fast and it has xbox live too. Anything you can do it real life you can do in this game. If you don't believe me you should rent it then you'll realize it too. One of the best things about this game is the soundtrack. It has so many bands that haven't even been heard of but are still amazing and perfect for this game. Trust me, go out and buy this game right away.
