Xbox's Premier Action Title

With gorgeous graphics, palpable atmosphere, and even the option to hear the original japanese voice actors, this game is a technical gem.

Beyond the flash and sparkle, its a very, very, smooth game. While it may take a bit of getting used to, the control scheme is ultimately rather intuitive and user friendly.

This is a "resident evil" style game: its capcom, a man and a woman against a bunch of demons in a sprawling complex, and of course puzzle solving to access different areas of the complex. The comparison ends there. Genma Onimusha is as far beyond Reesident Evil as Halo is beyond Quake.

The one downside is that the game is short. You may spend roughly 10 hours to beat it your first run through. There are easter eggs that are worth replaying the game for, but its also possible to run through the entire game in roughly 3 hours, if you're good. All in all a very solid game, and worth the [$$] dollars amazon is now charging.

Onimusha= Champion- CHAMPION OF ALL XBOX GAMES

This is by far the best Xbox game that I own. I have played the PS2 version at a friend's, but Genma Onimusha is a little different. The green souls are an added on feature which makes you invincible for a few seconds (great for beating bosses) and three element orbs, which you can enhance and attach to your sword to use magic attacks. There are new enemies in different places and tweaking of items in different locations and an additional sidequest towards the end of the game. If you have an Xbox and looking for a great Action/Adventure game, pick up Genma Onimusha.

PS- The controls are difficult at first but you will get used to them! I've played Genma Onimusha so much, that it feels strange to play a game with the joystick!

Fun game, but bad controls and poor game engine.

The controls are terrible. The enemies are slow, stupid, and predictable. You can either run to pass the enemies or slaughter them over and over and over again by reentering the same area (hints: this is a great way to collect red souls to enhance all your swords to level 3: this makes killing the tougher enemies a walk in the park). The only areas in the game that may challenge you are the Dark Realms and the Ogre's Tower. I suggest that you get all your power jewels and magic jewels first, prior to entering these areas. The end boss is a total joke--his moves are so predictable. The only enemy in the game that may cause some uneasiness is the little girly doll with knives--one strategy is to avoid fighting her altogether if you can. Notwithstanding all these negative comments, the game is fun in an undignified way--you get to destroy a horde of brain death foes: watch them fragged by your lightning; watch them fried to a golden crispiness by your fire; watch them shredded into mere atoms by your wind (and I don't mean gas).

Excellent graphics!

This game is by far the best video game I have ever played. Took me a while to beat and I am still working on getting the S rank. If anyone is looking for an action game that has blood and gore, this is it.

Really cool but hard.

saving princesses killing demons and sucking souls all you need in a game. I've played the ps2 version but this is much better. The new areas. The new deathblow moves oh yeah one thing I hate,... Chuckies Japanese ancestor, wasn't in the ps2 version you'll be running screaming ahhh evil doll. It is like a whole new game. I'm probly going to buy it for xbox even though I have it on ps2.

This game has it all! Sweet graphics, good plot, plenty of action, visually entertaining (eye candy), and challenging. You have to use your brain and master moves to advance. I didn't like it at first but after I got the hang of it I didn't want to stop. Too bad I have to go to a friends house to play.

Great but.....

Genma Onimusha is a great game, you get tons of weapons diffrent suits, great gameplay and great graphics.... You have no control over the camera so some times it can make you a little mad, when you dont know what is killing you, and there are some puzzels in there that are just about impossible to figure out.all in all this game was pretty good. if your in for a challenge i would get this game.

The best part of this game may be the great movie introduction...the graphics are absolutely beautiful. The rest of the game is pretty much Resident Evil set in Asia, with samuri swords instead of guns of course. The gameplay leaves something to be desired but the graphics and sound are top notch. A good game...but not very original.

Great game.

I wasn't sure what I was getting into when I played this new version of Onimusha for the X-Box. i'd already beaten the PS2 version. This new one is much harder. The enemies all take much longer to kill, and you are often overwhelmed. The PS2 guide is very little help, as all the puzzles have been altered, and they don't even contain the same items as before.

Then, there's the whole 'Green Soul'thing. Once an enemy manages to get a green soul inside them, they get much faster and harder to kill.

It is much creepier than the original version. Especially with that demon doll. *shudders* Makes me think back to Clock Tower's Scissorman.

Overall, the game is really good. It's very difficult, but not impossible.
