I've checked out the graphics for this game at a popular [local store] and I was very impressed. All I can say is it's about time!!! Bruce is back and with his trademark woooo!! haaaaa!! and Tons of thugs to beat ... out of. All you X-boxers/Kung Fu nerds strap on your Gitana and open a can of ... cause Bruce is back!

No review can be given without a game.

I don't understand why reviews are being written for a game that isn't available yet. Going to the games dedicated website however, there were a couple of issues to question. First, it says you must choose a fighting style to combat your opponent. Bruce Lee did not believe in styles, Jeet Kune Do promotes the use of techniques most effective in hand to hand combat. So why not utilize this philosophy as much as possible? I did not see any weapons being used. How about a bamboo pole or nunchakus like in Game of Death? Second, why even create a new storyline for the game? He was the leading actor in 5 motion pictures so why not utilize the storys from the movies? (A Bruce Lee - Chuck Norris fight from Return of the Dragon would be sweet!) But, even with these questions in mind I am still eagerly ready for this game. Bruce Lee fans, check out the video or DVD called Bruce Lee: A Warriors Journey. It has the full uncut final 40 minutes of Game of Death. Never before seen, the footage blows away the 11 minutes of footage that was shown in the theatrical release and it gives the true storyline for the movie also. Well as Bruce would say, "Be water my friend."

The legendary Bruce Lee makes a big scene on the XBox !

During the early '70s, Bruce Lee was known as one of the greatest action heroes in history and the master of Jeet Kune Do. The violence that Lee displays in his movies are so extreme, so grosteque, that even todays action heroes wouldn't even dare to perform that kind of stuff. Even if someone tries to emulate his violence, it wouldn't be as good looking as Bruce Lee's original violent performances. Even if he died a tragic death in '73, his memories are still alive today. You'll see a whole lot of people with Bruce Lee T-Shirts, cartoon characters trying to be like Bruce Lee, remastered DVDs of Bruce Lee classics, and even some video game characters in a fighting game acting, fighting, and sounding like Bruce Lee. Now it's time to remember Bruce Lee in another way...put him a next-gen video game console with the greatest 3D graphics processor of all time, the XBox ! Enter Bruce Lee: Quest of the Dragon, the first Bruce Lee title to feature 3D technology and real time combat. And it's the most anticipated action game among an audience of young Bruce Lee fans. Now to describe the game. The graphics are perfect, powered with the XBox's ultimate 3D processor. The 3D models look very superb with no graphical flaws ! The lighting effects, including the flaming fist mode, looks absolutely jaw dropping. And as for the stages, they're huge and good looking ! There are not much flaws on these stages, except for the fact that there's a whole lot of fog and tons of it. But still, this is a graphical powerhouse overall, and the cutscenes rock ! The audio is okay...I guess. The voice actor who did Bruce Lee didn't do that much of bad job. They almost sound identical, but he really needs to work on it more, including that yell that Bruce Lee does (you know...WAAAAATAAAAAHHHH !!!). And some of the other voice actors are rather laughable, but on the plus side, it almost sounds like they're featured in a Kung-Fu movie. So that seems fair ! The music sounds perfectly fit with the traditional Chinese Kung-Fu tunes. And the sound effects are blazing with realistic hitting and grunting. If you listen carefully, it sounds very identical to that of one of the sound effects featured in one of his films. And as for the gameplay, it rocks ! The controls really hit the spot with slick movement and fast control response. The in-game combat will seem a bit clunky to some newcomers, but after playing this a couple of times, you'll really get used to it. And the coolest thing about the gameplay is, when you kill the last enemy, you get a slow motion of your enemy falling down after one fatal blow and you get to use Nunchakus on certain stages. My favorite part of the game ! The only thing that bothers me about the gameplay is the unforgivable camera angles. It keeps on moving everytime you're done duking it out with the last batch of thugs or if you're fighting with one enemy. But still, even with those flaws, I really loved playing this game. Bruce Lee: Quest of the Dragon is one of my favorite XBox titles among everything else. Many people may not enjoy it, but anyone who still enjoys watching Bruce Lee's films and still looks up to him, will definently like this game ! If you want to see Bruce Lee alive and kicking it...literaly, Bruce Lee: Quest of the Dragon is the title that Bruce Lee fans should never miss !

WILL THIS BE THE ONLY BRUCE LEE GAME?

I HAVE BEEN THINKING ABOUT THIS GAME. BRUCE IS MY FAV MARTIAL ARTIST AND I WAS THINKING WHAT IF THEY NEVER MAKE ANOTHER BRUCE LEE VIDEO GAME? TO ME THIS IS GOING TO BE RARE WHEN IT COMES OUT BECAUSE I DON'T THINK THERE HAS EVER BEEN A GAME MADE ON BRUCE LEE LIKE THIS. I SAID I DON'T THINK I WANT THIS GAME BUT I HAD TO RETHINK THIS. MAYBE THERE WILL BE A SEQUEL, MAYBE THERE WON'T. BUT ONE THINGS FOR SURE, IF YOU LIKE BRUCE AND WANT TO LIVE A PIECE OF HIS LIFE GET THIS GAME. YEAH, I'M EATING MY WORDS FROM MY LAST REVIEW BUT I'M GOING TO GET THIS GAME SO I CAN EXPERIENCE "THE DRAGON'S FURY".

I would only hope that this game brings more games of this nature. And if the game makers brought up the courage to see if the dragon could truly live again in their world, well only all the world who praised the dragon would feel that loss to be found once again. I am hopeing the quality of this game is seen throughs eyes that will search for the legacy of the dragon, and hunger for visauls in the movies as well for thier popcorn. I hope this game in all its glory brings the dragon back to us...

Not as good as it could have been...

I read a review of "Bruce Lee: Quest of the Dragon" on IGN.com minutes after I purchased the game. They trashed it to death, and I was worried the game would suffer a fate similar to "Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story"... But being the huge Lee fan I am, I popped it in the XBOX, and prepared myself for a terrible game. They didn't just trash the gameplay, they trashed the graphics(saying it was something out of N64, which is hogwash, obviously), the sound, and everything else involved with video games.

Well, the begining cinema showed up, and showed a digitized Bruce Lee in action. I was immediately blown away, and began the game as quickly as possible. Now, if you've ever played "Final Fight", you get the idea for this particular game, only with Bruce Lee, a human God. The sounds, the look, and the movements of Bruce Lee in the game are all quite strikingly similar to the man himself. That gets an immediate kudos, I mean, this is the next best thing, aside from Bruce himself.

Although, the gameplay is a little iffy. The controls take a lot of getting used to, but when you do, you'll be kicking names and taking ass. The only REAL complaints I do have are that the camera gets stuck in certain places, and that pesky "Lock-On" attack thing. So, basically, when you're fighting 3 different people, you're focused on one person; if you knock him down, then you are still focused on him... Although that has a remedy as well, just click "R", but it still gets tiresome after a while.

While this game certainly has it's flaws(which games don't?), it's got a lot of cool features as well. If you're a Bruce Lee fan, this is more than a must-have. I've loved Bruce Lee since I was 6, and I'm glad that a game has finally captured just a fraction of his character and charisma. Other gamers, however, might want to steer clear. Unless said gamer is familiar with Hong Kong action flicks, they won't enjoy the paper-thin plot. So, all in all, Bruce Lee fans, go for it. Others, go for the rental first. I'm not sure that you'll LOVE this game, but at least it's not "Dragon" all over again. Now, wait for a potential sequel, and maybe they'll fix those flaws...

A must have for beat em up fans.

My first experience with this game I played for three hours strait. I was amazed by the visual effects, and opening cinemas. The sound effects and voice is vintage Bruce Lee. I like the fact that I can purchase items once completing an area and also by learning new Jeet Kune Do moves as the game progresses. This game is different from Final Fight the main reason being that I can move around in 3-D space and clime ladders and the wonderful point system. This game even has a training mode where I can practice my moves. Bruce Lee: Quest of the Dragon is two games in one an adventure that features a story mode and a fighting mode in the Arena. The game play is phenomenal and the graphics are well don I can't see this game looking the same way on any platform especially built in Dolby 5:1 support and HDTV compatible. And I own X-Box and Playstation 2. The only gripe I have with this game is that some scenes suffer from slow down, but it doesn't take away the enjoyment.

People have been writing reviews for this game that haven't even played it yet. Can anyone tell me why? I wish they would hold off on writing their "reviews" until they've actually played the game.

"I saw a screenshot of the game and it looked like it had people and they were fighting! SWEEEEEEET!!! 5-stars!"

Whatever. =)

Anyway, I actually have the game in my living room right now (rented, thank God), so what I've got for you is an opinion from someone who's actually played the game.

Ronin Entertainment licensed the most recognizable martial arts figure around; good for them. It probably wasn't easy and it probably wasn't cheap. Why, then, would they then proceed to develop a game that fails in every key area (graphics, sound, controls, gameplay, fun) ...Something went horribly wrong on the way to making a good game. Software publishers seem to use the shotgun approach to releasing software--get as many titles as possible can in front of the consumer and every once in a while you'll have a profitable hit that will make up for all those titles that didn't break even. If the focus would instead be on releasing fewer titles with a much higher focus on quality, everyone would win in the end.

So let's sum it up here: I see absolutely no reason why anyone should even THINK about buying this game. If you're a huge Bruce Lee fan and feel you must own the game on principle alone, do yourself a favor and DON'T! You work hard for your money--don't blow it on garbage like this!

I bought this game the day it was released. I am a big Bruce Lee fan, but this game is a huge disappointment. I have run into so many gliches that it ruins the game. In fact, I am 'playing' right now!!! The last villain of this particular fight scene just doesn't seem to want to come and face the real "DRAGON" (are you listening Mr. "I have the nerve to call myself the dragon" Silverhair?). He is just out of reach although I can see him. There are also a lot of times that you lag while moving that allows your enemies to get a quick strike against you. I honestly believe that this game was shipped before it was truly tested/finished, either that or I just have a bad copy. The ONLY positive thing I can say is that at least there are nunchukus on certain scenes so you can leave knots on people's heads. After I finish the game, I'll probably give it to my cousin, whom I already advised not to buy it...for free. So please excuse me while I try to coax this last enemy to come and play...

Not quite the Legend.

First off let me say I'm a huge Bruce Lee fan and like many others I have been anticipating this game since I first got my XBox. However, the end results are somewhat dissapointing. The graphics are okay but I dont feel they pushed the XBox to even close its potential. I witnesed some jaggies and a few instances of draw-in, which to me is unacceptable considering the graphics are just average. The control was a mixed bag. Sometimes they were responsive and other times they lacked. Often times i found myself taking damage because the button sequence did not register in time. The sound is the saving grace, with descent voice acting and cool signature Bruce Lee howls. The music and ambient sound also add to the overall feel of it all. Bottom line is that the game feels a little rushed which is hard to understand because it took so long to finally see the light of day. Rent it for a few days and see for yourself.
