Snowboard: A wide ski used for sliding downhill on snow. 1080 replicates this beautifully! From the initial set off you know your in for a fantastic time, with official 'Lamar' Boards and rad 'Tommy Hilfiger' clothes along with 6 tracks, 5 boarders plus secret ones and Half-Pipe and Big Air, this is special. The graphics, the first thing you notice are spectacular,Real-time lighting and shadows are employed in this showcase for the N64's power. Then the sound hits you with it's pumping soundtrack which just compliments the wonderful graphics. Then you realise how well and smoothley it plays and how realistic all the crashes and landings are. Now i've only just scratched the surface, buy the game and you'll find out about the 30 odd tricks and secret characters, it truly is outstanding and a worthy game to buy from Nintendo. P.S. the same people who made this did the wonderful job on Waverace64!

1080° Snowboarding is the most realistic snowboarding game.

1080° (TenEighty) Snowboarding is the best snowboarding game on the Nintendo64 market. The game combines incredible racing courses, riders, and boards with incredible stunt courses, riders, and boards. There are a total of six courses, over 25 different tricks, eight snowboard riders and eight different Lamar snowboards. In 1080° Snowboarding the programmers choose to eliminate skill level settings in single races and instead let you choose you rider and customize his board. Each rider has certain qualities that benefit him, the most important are speed and control. Dion Blaster the best racer for those people who can control games rather well. Ricky Winterborn is probably the best trick rider because he can land jumps well and is fast in the air. When playing you should probably leave the rider with his default snowboard because they do best on their own boards. To sum it up, the game is overall quite a bit of fun. It is easy for anyone who has played a racing game in the past to catch on to the racing controls. The controls for the tricks take a little more practice and at first may seem stupid to some non-snowboarders but after a few tries everyone gets the hang of it and the tricks become even more addictive than the racing. All the controls are just right, not too sensitive but they respond just the perfect amount. The only downside of the game that I could find is that there is a damage meter so if you crash too many times you die. This is quite annoying for those people who simply can control themselves because it ends the game when you hit the top of the damage meter, when playing two players both players stop when one dies, no matter what. The game is intense when played with two player, although not too intense because one crash and one wrong turn can put a player a ways behind. The contest mode makes playing one player much better. In contest mode you race 4-6 courses, depending on the skill level, and you have three lives that are taken away when your damage meter goes off and if you do not win. I would give this game a 9 on the Nintendo Empire Performance Points scale for great racing and stunt but the damage meter is quite annoying and the amount of air that a rider gets off a small jump is quite unrealistic.

This Game really *****!

1080 Snowboarding is a smooth graphically-intense games. From the energetic dance music to the atmosphere of the pool lounge where snowboarders await your decision to pick them, the game gives an "extreme sport" feel. The courses are polished and look spectacular. The controls are easy to learn and adapt. The graphics and controls overcame the dull repetitve music that plays over and over gain. Music that sticks like a bad habit. Overall, the game had a great look and feel. Tricks to accomplish presented a welcome challenge. However, time somewhat sombered the first impression I had. I found the options limiting and gameplay stale. Don't get me wrong...Snowboarding 1080 is an excellent game but repeated play can make it boring. One particular aspect that annoyed me was the unability to continue in two-player mode if one of the players gets wiped out. Generally, Snowboarding 1080 is all is hyped up to be, excellent graphics, controls and smooth fluid movement. Repetitve music and limiting options led me to take off one star. Still, 1080 is a great game that captures all the excitement of snowboarding and the general culture it evolves around.

LAME-O!

For those of us who cannot make it to the mountains and slide down the hill knocking skiers out of the way, this is the next best thing (without the skiers). From tail-grabs in the half pipe to full course head to head boarding, this game is a fun way to get that boarder inside of you to let loose without the chance of hitting a tree. (Of course when you do in the game you flinch too!!) You've got a choice of boarders with different skills and strengths and then based on the boarder you chosse, you match them up with a board. My suggestion is to choose the best balance of all skills in your boarder and all board capabilities. (When you're going head to head get a board that can turn well and goes really fast!!) The half pipe is the most fun and when you finally pull off a 1080.........YEAH!!!

This is a wonderful toy for boarders of any kind!

When I first saw the box marked 1080* Snowboarding, I passed it by, thinking I had millions, trillions of choices in that video store gaming section... well, okay maybe two other choices. There was Mariokart 64, and Glover 64 (both of which I already own). I paid my $5 (not even wanting a game, it was just the rebelion against my parents money). I had never even heard of this game before, let alone played it. So, I took it home slapped in to my year old n64 (I bought it 2 weeks before the price went down $50) and turned it on. Man, that was some wicked graphics!!! It showed a couple of snowboarders doing awesome tricks all over my big screen tv. I played the different parts af the game including my favorites: trick mode and vs. mode. I got to be very good at my tricks in these two courses: The Pipeline, which is a half tube of snow that you can do many jumps on, and The Big Jump, where you have a jump that gives you about 20 seconds to do any tricks you want! It is a five star game!!! It is extremely challenging with many secret riders, boards, and tracks (all of which you get to choose every time)!!! Over all, even for a person that has never even gotten on any kind of board, Nintedo is at it's top!!!
