Game Freezes up-BEWARE

I like the game but, once you get past 100k points, the game freezes up. Of course I cannot return it because the return time has passed. So BEWARE.

Game freezes / locks up too much

We've had this game for about a week. It's a fantastic game, except that it locks up / freezes to much. When it does that, you lose your game, and you have to start over. Kind of frustracting. Otherwise, a great game. Defective?? We bought it from Toysrus / Amazon which cost 25% more than other places.

I think that Bookworm is a cute game for kids but it can get frustrating.

Bookworm on the GBA is fun if you like word games. My kids enjoy it though it may get frustrating for early readers.
Graphics are almost identical to the PC game and it has the same feel, and hte sound is almost the same, but there are some missing features such as the definitions that come up when you submit a less common word. My 9 year old missed that feature from the computer version.
My only complaint with the game is that while it is terrific in its simplicity, it quickly becomes a challenge just to beat your own high score and generate words with more points. Once you reach Supreme Bookworm, which may be fairly soon, there are no more in-game goals. The bonus words start recycling and the challenge doesn't ramp up.
It is still a lot of fun and I'm glad they did not include off-color and swear words, though there are some fairly commonly used words not included, but I was hoping for something new given that the computer version has been out for a while. I'd also appreciate more gameplay options, maybe something along scrabble lines for younger players to create words out of random tiles for points or maybe an anagram game.

My favorite GBA game is Legend of Zelda Link to the Past and my kids favorites are the Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire versions. These games have an incredible depth of play.

I highly recommend this game. I am 38 and love it. It is so easy and mindless. Also my son who is 8 loves it as well. I take over his gameboy to play it but when he wants to play I let him have it since I think the game is educational for him.

Great for Kids

This is a wonderful learning tool for the young. Older or mature players will become frustrated as the bookworm does not include many words that adults easily say. This game is a big hit at first, but then you begin to get frustrated on account of The Bookworm's lack of normal words in a working vocabulary.

My youngest daughter told me about this game and I ordered off of Amazon back in April. Well,now I am addicted to it and so is my oldest daugheter that I had to buy another one. Its so good that my brother-in-law took it over and got up to level 30 with a score of 1,000,000 plus. Its not fair. Its my game and he took it over and now all the stores are sold out of it. Its a good investment. Believe me when I say it is addictive, but its also relaxing,

I love this game on the computer? woohoo! its the best.
I received a Sapphire Tile because I made a word 7 letters long!
Other tiles: Normal Tiles, Burning Tiles, Green Tile(Bonus Tile), Gold Tile(Super Bonus Tile), Sapphire Tile, Diamond Tile.
The best is the Diamond Tile, it gives uber-duber-super-ultra-mega point! yeeha!

Wish it wouldn't freeze

I agree with everyone. This game is the best. I got it yesterday, and have become addicted. I'm glad it's a long weekend. Unfortunately, I am having problems with it freezing, and it seems to do so when I get a REALLY good score. Since many others don't seem to have this problem, I'm going to order another one, and hope it's maybe a glitch in this pack. You can bet I wouldn't order a second if this wasn't SO addicting.

I imagine that this will be great

I love Book-Worm on the computer, and can't wait to purchase the GBA version. I'm 11 and love games (video games) that stretch my mind. Unfortunatly, Amazon.com is out of stock at the time of my writing. I rated 5 stars because I love Book-Worm no matter what or where.
