I bought this game after being HIGHLY dissapointed with Scrabble Blast. Bookworm is incredibly addictive and entertaining. Everyone in my house loves to play it. I don't think I'd pay $40 for Bookworm, but if you're looking for a fun word game, this is it! (I bought mine on ebay for $17.)
Excellent

I'll have to give props to Majesco and Popcap Games for bringing this addictive game to the Gameboy Advance. The object of the game is to spell words to get points and level up without letting the 'fire' tiles reach the bottom of the screen. If you do, it's game over. If not, you level up and continue playing. If it comes down to it and you can't come up with a word, you can always flip the tiles and scramble the letters, but beware of those 'fire' tiles as they stay in place and sometimes move down a space or two. Sure, it's exactly the same game as the PC version with no enhancements or much of anything but who cares when you're having this much fun and can take it on the go?? I love it myself and highly recommend this game to all.
Now, if we could just sweet talk these developers into coming out with games like Bejeweled, Hexic, Jewel Quest, Maui Wowee, and others to play on the go, I'd be one happy camper..
Best Word Game Ever!

I used to play this at PopCap's web site where I couldn't save my game. When the electricity burped I lost my game and threatened massive retribution on the electric company. I use a Mac and PopCap had no plans to export to my platform so I did the only thing reasonable. I bought a GBA and the game. Now I can save and play this extremely addictive game whenever and wherever I want to. Plus there is the cool factor. I'm a middle-aged mom whose teen son and friends think it is way cool that mom has a GBA. After you learn the ways of the flaming tiles you'll be okay but it will get difficult building words when half of the screen is vowels and the flaming tile is a U! Oh, you can have more than one player name so you can keep multiple games saved. Save frequently so you can back up and start over while trying for a bonus word because flaming tiles come frequently about then.
Just slightly addicting, yet educational

Like the box says, "Bookworm" should come with a warning label. It's one of the most fun games I've played online or on the Gameboy Advance. I first played it on popcap games Web site, but then I found out it was available for Gameboy Advance and I had to check it out.
It's virtually the same game as the one on Pop Cap. You try to spell words with connecting tiles without allowing any of the red "fire" tiles to reach the bottom of the screen. Seems simple enough and it sounds like you could go on forever, but not so my friend. Sometimes you just simply DO NOT have a single word any which way you try to spell them and you have to *gasp* flip the tiles, which automatically introduces additional burning red tiles into the set of tiles you have already. Sometimes you can pull it off and get rid of those dreaded red burning tiles, sometimes not.
Either way, "Bookworm" is an extremely entertaining, exciting, and *ahem* possibly educational experience. Plus, that little worm character that eats all the words you spell is so cute. And he burps after eating them! How funny is that?!
I would definitely recommend this for anyone who enjoys word games or for parents who want to teach their kids some basic vocabulary.

I really love playing this game on the computer. The one you offered me is for game boy. Do you have the PC version. I can sit for hours and make words up. It keeps my brain active. Please let me know. Thanks

We've had this game for about a week. It's a fantastic game, except that it locks up / freezes to much. When it does that, you lose your game, and you have to start over. Kind of frustracting. Otherwise, a great game. Defective?? We bought it from Toysrus / Amazon which cost 25% more than other places.

I agree with everyone. This game is the best. I got it yesterday, and have become addicted. I'm glad it's a long weekend. Unfortunately, I am having problems with it freezing, and it seems to do so when I get a REALLY good score. Since many others don't seem to have this problem, I'm going to order another one, and hope it's maybe a glitch in this pack. You can bet I wouldn't order a second if this wasn't SO addicting.
