Really! business games have never been a real thriller for me. I play mostly flight sims, adventure games, space sims, and a few shooters like Wolfenstein. So, I decided to try something different. And boy! did I make the right choice. This game should be played by Graduate Business School students, as it would definately benefit their studies. The sim is that realistic and beneficial to business lovers and money managers. The game has taught me a lot about money management. I have Money 2001 for my personal financial management and I wish now I had more of it, so I could actually do all the things in the game for real!
So, for all those business people out there...run, don't walk to your nearest computer store and play this game.

I'd rather not bore you with a lengthy, sugar-coated review. If you are into business/tycoon games at all, and enjoy dealing with finances, the stock market, analyzing charts, etc. then this is the game for you! Like I said, when it comes to depth and addictiveness, It's unlike anything on the market, especially for $10!!
Great Game

A good game for people who wnat a challenge in business. This game has many dimensions; stock market, retail, manufacturing, wholesaling, media management, apartment/commmercial building management, etc. You can even buy out your competition and have control over them or sell to them.
NOTE: You do NOT have to complete the tutorials to play the game.
There are several senarios to play, ranging from simple to very complex, each has a rating on a scale.. You decide! One senario I chose, I became the 6th richest person in the world! Assets and cash over 10 billion dollars. Hours of fun and you can stop and Save... or retire with a Rating.
You need to be interested in the game to enjoy the game.

Some people just don't get it. There is nothing that will really get you to stand up and point this game out to anyone else. There is nothing here that you can do that would impress your friends or what not.
Think of the game as a school course, or sim city will just the money and business part.
I find the game fun to play, but I also love the idea behind business and creating one.
If you don't know numbers, if your looking to take over the "world" or blow something up, this is really the wrong game for you.
Now if your looking for how to set up a business, or how to run a corperation then I would say this is a rather good game to start with.
From building a farm, to a factory. A retail store or a market you can get a good idea of how it is done.
Expect to spend 3-6 hours just LEARNING the game, then you will enjoy it.

When I saw this game on Amazon.com a couple months ago, I knew that I had to have it. After I received the package, and installed the game I was pleased to see the graphics it possessed. I did go through the "tutorials" A.K.A. Entreprenuer's Campaign, which is essential to do well in the game. You will learn valuable setup techniques in this part. Then came time for the campaigns... and I am pleased to say that they blew me away. There are so many of them it takes forever to win.
I would reccommend this game to anyone who has enjoyed Sim City, Roller Coaster Tycoon, or even Zoo Tycoon. The graphics are excellent, the gameplay is excellent, and the overall feel of the game is excellent.
I have to say that it is the most complex simulation game that I have played yet.

If you're looking for a market-friendly computer game, look no further than Capitalism 2. A terrificly addictive game that can gobble up hours of your life, it might also teach you something about how and why capitalism really works.
At heart, it's a strategy game. You create and control a business empire in any and every industry, from raw material production to manufacturing and retailing. Use mines, oil well, factories, imported goods and more to produce and sell industrial and retail products. Establish your own R&D centers, or buy technology from rivals. Compete with importers and rival corporation for survival and dominance in up to four cities at a time.
In real life, not everyone gets to see how advertising affects sales, or how different brand strategies change the bottom line. But in Capitalism 2 you have to use these tools to win advantage over the sophisticated AI competition.
An observant player will notice that simple competition creates abundance: technology levels rise higher and higher, prices tend to decline, firms (and jobs) multiply, new products classes are invented, and consumer choice expands. No magic causes this to happen; no government mandates, consumer advocate groups, or the like. Just simple capitalism - well, simple in concept, until you've got to defend your dominance of the apparel industry from eager competitors hungry for your profit margin!
The game includes several different features that make it more realistic and exciting, such as a fully functional stock market, corporate headquarters, personal portfolio (separate from your company's), and clever AI assistants - Chief Operating Officers, Chief Technical Officers, and so on, each with their own personalities and expertise. I've played the game for a good hundred hours, and I return to it again and again. My highest recommendation: among the best games I have ever played, and the most pro-market game I am aware of.
Sometimes good games take a little time to be appreciated...

...and this is one of them. Many times in our instant gratification society people don't want to wait. If you are one of those people then I do not recommend Capitalism 2 but if you are one of those that is willing to put in the effort and explore the depth of the game then Capitalism 2 is recommended. Capitalism 2 is one of those games that many will dismiss after a couple of plays because the depth will not reveal itself immediately. 1503 AD(and others in the series) and Patrician 3 are like that also(both also wonderful games that do not reveal their depth until they are played for a while). Capitalism 2 is one of the better tycoon type games.

I loved this game, when i played the demo sometime back but forgot the name of the game, so once i found it i immediatly bought it...
The game has a very good stock market, it has training missions(called the entraprenuers campaign) which each most of the things(buttons) to use and is very helpful.
Strategies, like when to enter which market and what to research will depend on missions and personal choice.
It is a very addictive game and when i sit down to play it it takes me abt 2-3 hours each time, time flies without knowing it...
One huge plus about this game is it's low price (10bucks) and it works on Windows Vista as well (so future proof).
I am just sad that there is no Capitalism 3...
Utterly worthless, wasn't even fun for an hour

The installer worked great, and that's all I can say for
this game. It lived on my hard drive less than 2 hours before
getting un-installed, and good riddance.
The game begins with a "campaign" of tutorials. The very
first tutorial involves being shown a series of mouse clicks,
then repeating the same set of mouse clicks about 100 times --
pick a site, open yet another grocery store, stock it with 4
products, your choice of any four from about 6 available (whee).
Over and over again. The goal is to get annual profits over
$100 million before repetitive stress injury sets in from the
mouse clicks. After repeated plays I found it impossible
to exceed about $65-70 million. That's right, the very first
game in tutorials is un-winnable! That makes it impossible to go
on to do anything else, so if there is any merit to this game,
I'll sure never find it.
The total fun value of this game is about 20 minutes.
Simple, yet impressive

I'm impressed. There are no frills, there are no gimmicks. This game cuts right to the chase. It's all about supply and demand, and the rest is open ended. The game provides the player with a vase array of goods. It's up to the player to decide which part of the production/consumption chain he wants to invest in, and then it's all about making money.
This game is pure simulation with just enough in the graphics department to keep the game in the 21st century. I would recommend this game to anyone who is into tycoon games or business simulations. It's the best one I've seen in quite awhile, and I play a lot of them.
Don't let the drab packaging fool you. This one is a keeper, and the replayability is very high. The only reason I didn't give it a full five stars in the "fun" department is simply because I like a few frills and easter eggs here and there. This game is all business.
