A New twist on an old classic.

Twisted Metal is a game I really enjoyed when I first heard about it on PSone. It was fun, the characters were colorful, and the game play was great. Now for Head-On, the first 2 are still true, but the last one is not. The controls are way too sensative. That is the only knock I have on the game. If your a fan of the game and have great hand-eye coordination, you'll enjoy it.

Awesome PSP game!

Pros:
-WOW, reflective water!
-Good visual effects!
-Addicting gameplay!
-Online multiplayer!

Cons:
-16 bit color and no anti-aliasing? (Hardware's fault I guess)
-Controls are hard to get used to...
-Low quality sounds!
-Cheesy music!

Come on Sony! Don't you care about quality?

"THE" Twisted Metal Title we all have been waiting for!

this is an Excellent game with 12 vehicles and several unlockable vehicles and about 21 unlockable environments and even better a ton of minigames that range from a complete blast to play to a tad frustrating (think platforming with a CAR on the TOKYO ROOFTOPS area (think back to TM:2) and voila! nasty but still fun.
add to this formula, destructable environments and that lil item made my day (I used to hate running into a tree with MINION and it STOPPING ME. lol) not anymore however the trees give way and damage your car fairly realisticly.
sadly NO MINION but that is good in a way because the vehicles in this one are so well balanced that no one has ANY big advantage over all of the others like big baddies like minion did.
NOW for the multiplayer modes, WOW!!! very fun and a blast with up to 6 friends via wireless ad-hoc or Infrastructure mode (after a quick and free signup)
you control whether or not the environments are destructable or not in multiplayer and you also choose time limit or none, choose new vehicle after death or not, and finally artifacts!
new nifty power ups that do many things like increase turbo recarge rate and energy also double damage machine guns for a few examples. The envornmental weapons are all back like the lightning from the greek statues and radio tower. and a bunch more.
this games bosses are really well done too with crazy eddy being the first and a real blast to attempt to kill (the RV's are loony) and all the way up to tower tooth and the rest.

Fun: this game is a MUST OWN! 5 stars!

Graphics: better then TM: Black and any of the ps1 ver. so 5 star!

Sound: what you would expect but some surprises 4 stars

Overall: 5 Stars! this game is fun alone and a mega blast with friends or on the web and if you like these games like I do and especally this one you might want the ps2 version called TM: head on the extra twisted edition. 16 classic vehicles return plus all 12 new ones and 4 unknown unlockables. *see my review*

also not the same

again this one is not the same but better then black. its more or less a sequal to black. stories are decent. all the characters come from the first 3 of the orginal twisted metal series which is awomse. levels are awsome and are like twisted metal 2 and 3 which were world tours. problem is this is the first game with out the character minion (even though black had him but was a tanker semi and the size of yankee statium its doesnt count in my book) and doesnt have auger from twisted metal 3 and 4. a couple drivers are different like hammer head for instance is not driven by that old granny like in twised metal 3 and a couple others i can that i cant remember. Calypso is the one from black not the orginal series. talks at least in this one and has some blond hair but is still bald. if this Calypso were the orginal it be about as good as twisted metal 3. storys suck and the drivers do not talk about thier bio like in twised metal 3 and 4. also the endings are all pictues like with twised meal 1. this game also has 2 new steet tooths. sweet tooth has a son named dark tooth. drives a simular car like his dads only is the size of the white house!! top it off sweet tooth is fat in this game and has no shirt. and then theres tower tooth who is the size of the space needel and is impossible to defeate without cheat codes. i am giving this a 2 because it the sweet tooth(s) gig in general is dumb, not the orginal Calypso sucks, and the fact minion is not in it is another. also the stories are horrible + in live motion either. since it did have the old drivers (even though a couple were different) and the levels were great thats 2 out of 6. but was a fairly fun game even though a couple levels are boring like the stadium for one.

Great Game for the Sony PSP!

I've been looking for a game that is perfect for the PSP and I've finally found it. Twisted Metal is highly addicting and extremely fun. The graphics are great for the small screen and there are lots of maps to play against other opponents. You can even play against up to 7 other friends who have a PSP by going through the infrared port or via a wireless LAN. I highly recommend this to others who like first-person shooter games.

Twisted fun for everyone

I agree with most who say that this is a true sequel to Twisted Metal 2 World Tour. Most of that game's vehicle's are in this installment albeit some character and vehicle design changes. For example, Hammerhead is a pick-up truck rather than a Monster SUV truck and Thumper is driven by a Hispanic looking teenage female rather than an adult black male. Calypso is back and the actor who voices him did an incredible job. As for the game in general, I think they were able to pull off a lot of what we enjoyed about TM2 with a few extras. There are power upgrades you can collect after you destroy an opponent, and when you collect the last one, your special weapon magnifies in a certain way. This is what sets this game apart. One notable difference is that you can't die from falling off a cliff or a building. You just re-appear back on the course with a little bit of your vitality taken away. I don't know if I like this idea because the most fun I ever had with TM2 is driving as Mr. Slam, grabbing an enemy with the shovel grips, slamming it a few times, and tossing them over board to their death. Here's another interesting addition, there are minigames on every level. Each one has their own unique challenge and I think it is a welcome break from the usual drive and gun action you're used to in Twisted Metal. This game is really good and it's a must-buy weather you're familiar with Twisted Metal or not. I think the ultimate Twisted Metal game would be elements of TM2 and this one. To much detail to list here. We'll see what they come up with next.

A twisted debut on Psp!

INTRO:Twisted metal is a longtime franchise who made its debut on ps1 the franchise is known for being very destructive and its debut on psp portable system represents exactly that.It goes back to twisted metal 2 wich is the best of the serie.Psp has taken many famous franchise to make ripp-off of them but this game is an exeption.

The game is great the graphics are awsome and i love this game The characters are various as you can choose characters as the clown and even the grim reaper. They all have different vehicles from the classic ice cream truck to the atv, harley and even a tank and all have special attacks but wich are hard to perform. The game is a fast action and cool destructive game.

The enviroments are looking great with stages for Egypt,Paris,Tokyo,Russia,a Baseball field and more about everything you see is destructible ading more fun to the game. You gotta catch weapons such as grenades to hit your oponents.

The story mode is cool but it doesnt really have any storyline and the ending Boss is tough to beat as many say and that mode aint real long. Its mostly giving the action to players whitout boring them with a storyline it goes straight to the action.Other modes includes chalenge mode which just allow you to play levels and endurence in wich you have to beat as many opponents as possible.

Overral:Some bad points like the hard boss at the end and the controls for specials are hard to memorize but its mostly a great game and it didnt ruin twisted metal it made it better and its portable start is awsome hopefully another will come for Psp!I recomend it to twisted metal fans and those who arent and if you like destructive games you will have a good time!

Wow dont listen to them

Please save your money and dont buy this game. First of all the story mode is beatable in about 25 minutes. You could be playing and accidently enter a code! yeah thats righ 2 times its happened to me. Near the end boss i was playing and i accidently entered inf life without knowing! and later on inf ammo and i had no clue about the codes. This game gets boring really fast and it takes wayyy too long to kill one single enemie on here. the game isnt worth the buy nor the rent. save your money!

Greatest Twisted Metal Game Since 2

FINALLY, a Twisted Metal game that doesn't suck. The very first one I ever played was TM2 and I loved it. Then came 3, 4, Small Brawl, and Black. I didn't like them at all. But now we have Head On which is an awesome game. I had a lot of fun with this game and has a hard as hell ending boss (Tower Tooth, who I still haven't beaten). This game has pretty much all the characters and levels from TM2 only they're much better designed. Buy this if you own a PSP and you're a fan of TM2. Update: To the guy above me, you said story mode is beatable in 25 minutes. First of all, all the games can be beaten in 25 minutes. Second of all, you said "it takes way too long to kill a single enemy" though you said "story mode is beatable in 25 minutes". You make no sence.
