Twisted fun for everyone

I agree with most who say that this is a true sequel to Twisted Metal 2 World Tour. Most of that game's vehicle's are in this installment albeit some character and vehicle design changes. For example, Hammerhead is a pick-up truck rather than a Monster SUV truck and Thumper is driven by a Hispanic looking teenage female rather than an adult black male. Calypso is back and the actor who voices him did an incredible job. As for the game in general, I think they were able to pull off a lot of what we enjoyed about TM2 with a few extras. There are power upgrades you can collect after you destroy an opponent, and when you collect the last one, your special weapon magnifies in a certain way. This is what sets this game apart. One notable difference is that you can't die from falling off a cliff or a building. You just re-appear back on the course with a little bit of your vitality taken away. I don't know if I like this idea because the most fun I ever had with TM2 is driving as Mr. Slam, grabbing an enemy with the shovel grips, slamming it a few times, and tossing them over board to their death. Here's another interesting addition, there are minigames on every level. Each one has their own unique challenge and I think it is a welcome break from the usual drive and gun action you're used to in Twisted Metal. This game is really good and it's a must-buy weather you're familiar with Twisted Metal or not. I think the ultimate Twisted Metal game would be elements of TM2 and this one. To much detail to list here. We'll see what they come up with next.

What a way for the launch of the PSP to go out with a bang! TMHO is by far the best TM game in the entire franchise (exception TMB). With 12 large and interactive levels and 14 vehicles capable of wreaking major destruction TMHO is too awesome to write in such a short review.

Bottom Line: Way too cool

Insane Game

If you've ever played any other Twisted Metal games and you buy this you will realize they are very similar. There is a wide variety of weapons to shoot out of your vehicle and about 10 people to play as with each a strange little backround. The prize of winning Twisted Metal is one wish, so this makes winning the game with different characters very fun, and mysterious. I've beaten the game with various characters including Sweettooth and Mr. Grimm. At the end of the game, you get a video of what they wish from Calypso and many of them are funny.

Controls:I love the little analog on the PSP, but sometimes after playing for a long time it starts to hurt your thumb a bit. Overall=Great controls

Graphics:Much better than any handheld system ever devised, if you have a choice between PSP and DS PSP!!!!!!

p.s.-I'm not under 13 i just didn't want to post my real name

Twisted Metal comes onto the PSP with a great new game. The graphics are are awesome and the Wi-Fi multiplayer modes are fun with virtually no lag time at all! However, I do have to knock the game a star for being too short. Unlocking all the characters and other stuff can be done in about a week. But if your looking for a fun, quick-paced game for your brand new psp, then check it out.

Pros:
-WOW, reflective water!
-Good visual effects!
-Addicting gameplay!
-Online multiplayer!

Cons:
-16 bit color and no anti-aliasing? (Hardware's fault I guess)
-Controls are hard to get used to...
-Low quality sounds!
-Cheesy music!

Come on Sony! Don't you care about quality?

Ok, this is a TIGHT game. It has a "Franchise" sort-of mode. Im really impressed with the lightning fast graphics, and almost all other aspects of the game, BUT I hate how the controls are set-up. Why mess-the control's up? Well, ill leave it up to anybody to buy this game, with the risky controls. Im out
