This game TRULY sucks big time

Man, this $50 game from the Big Corporation called Electronic Arts totally stinks. It's got some of the worst car racing physics I've ever seen, and the controls are totally user-unfriendly. The cars handle like crazy, and the A.I. of the computer-controlled racers is totally uneven and takes away the last bit of fun from this game. Don't waste your $50 on a crappy game like this. I'm already very pissed I wasted $7 renting it from Blockbuster. Even though I could have kept it for two weeks, I returned it after less than one. This game truly sucks, big time.

If you want a good racer for the PSP, check out Ridge Racer, which, admittedly, is a different kind of racing experience but at least it's got good car physics models in it. Or just wait for the release of Gran Turismo or Burnout.

once you buy a car you have to make it look cool for racing. there are a lot of levels in this game so you will need alot of cars. the graphic are awesome. the cars dont go as fast as they say it's going. despite that it's one of the greatest racing games ever. you can get up to 20 cars that you by yourself and 5 boss cars. whenever you get new stuff put them on your best car. i love this game and you will too.

good but not good enough

This is fun but the graphics are bad. They are the graphics you would expect from a ds (horible). its worth a rental but don't buy it. This is not nerly as good as everyone says. I think everyone who gave this a five must have rated it the first day befor the relize how quicly it gets old (It gets old very Quikly). I think they also did not consider the horible graphics when rating this. don't let the other revewers fool you.

as a final statment the graphics are the worst graphics I have seen on any psp game so far.

Good game but only if you already own Burnout Legends

This game was quite fun, and like many other PSP games is much like a stripped down version of its home processors. In case you are unfamiliar to the series, Need For Speed Underground is a very successful series famous for its complete customization of your vehicles. Even more fun, you can race your pimped out car online for PSP where you will be facing other people who are also showing off their rides. In career mode, the main focous of the game, you start with a car which you can upgrade in two ways. The first is visual upgrades, in which you earn by winning races. The second is performance upgrades, in which you earn performance points through races to upgrade various parts of your car, and if you own multiple cars the upgrades apply to all. You can also unlock new cars as the game goes on. The game features three types of similar races. The first type just a regular circuit race where you are in a 3-4 lap race. The second is lap knockout where the person in last after each lap is eliminated. The third type is rally relay race where you race 2-3 laps, changing cars after each lap. I'd say that NFSUR is a great racing game, but just doesn't live up to Burnout in terms of game modes or graphical power.

Weak

Very disappointed in this game. Not even close to ridge racer as far as fun goes. Not close to Project Gotham as far as realistic control goes. Smashing in to walls and cars and then winning the race is just stupid.

This game is an over all bad design.

I loved this this game for about the first 5 days but then a relized it was the same thing over and over.

First of all everyone says the graphics are here are so good, they are good for a regular handheld game system, if you want good PSP graphics check out Ridge Racer. I seen those graphics and thats what I thought I would get but it wasn't even close.

Secondly, the races are the same let me show you. there are 2 types of of racing sessions. I will first show Circuit Race, it has 4 levels novice, Pro, Master, Car spec. Inside that it has circuit, lap knockout and Rally Relay. Then inside that you have 4 stages. Inside each stage you have 3 races, which is the same race just slightly harder. You Have to go through all this 4 times.

(Race 1 2 3, Are all the same three races just slightly harder)
Novice-

Circuit
Stage1-Race 1 2 3 --- Stage2-Race 1 2 3 --- Stage3-Race 1 2 3 --- Stage4-Race 1 2 3

Lap knockout-
Stage1-Race 1 2 3 --- Stage2-Race 1 2 3 --- Stage3-Race 1 2 3 --- Stage4-Race 1 2 3

Rally relay_
Stage1-Race 1 2 3 --- stage2-Race 1 2 3 --- Stage3-Race 1 2 3 --- Stage4-Race 1 2 3

Types of races:
Circuit: is a regular standard race
Lap Knockout: Who is in last place after evrey lap looses
Rellay rally: Requires 2 cars do one lap in one car then you have to "park" your car at the lap mark and switch cars to the other for the second lap.

Quick play battle:
consists of street cross, Drift attack, nitrous run, Drag.
Still uses THE SAME PATTERN AS CIRCUIT RACE BUT THE STAGES GO UP TO 10, NOT 4 (adds even more monotonous to the game).
Street cross: Regular race but your on a race course
Drift Attack: You have to drift your car are designated turns are poles.
Nitrous run: you receice Nos at every checkpoint you go through and try to to get as many checkpoints as possible in the aloted time.
Drag: standard drag race.

The gameplay is average at best and constantly doing the same race over gets boring fast. Also the game tends to cheat when ever your in the lead. For instance while going over jumps your car will spontaneously turn to the side causing you to crash, or your car will flip for no reason in the air, when of land the car will just keep going straight causing you to crash, or your car will bottom out when you hit causing your car to flip, also I have had it when I land my car will just stop and start to flash. The game will put cars just over a hill where you can't see them and when you go over you run right into them.

With monotonous races, horrible "freak" accidents, and borderline graphics this is not the game you want. With a price tag of $50 I can't beleive I bought it. Sugestion go with Ridge Racer, MUCH better grphics, better gameplay, and only $40.

I hate racing games.

I do, every racing game I haved played just doenst hold my interest. Yet when my PSP came with NFS:UR I had no idea it would become my favoret PSP game. The Graphics are amazing! Soundtrack is very good. The cars can be modified in an almost unlimited way from the paint job, to the turbo setup. I cant put this one down and I think it should be one of the games you get with your PSP. I feel this game takes advantage of what the PSP can do as a gamming machine.

Fun, but hard

this is just a copy of NFSU2 onto PSP but with a few diffrent cars and lless but diffrent tracks, the modes and music are the same. although most people prefer this more than NFSMW510, i believe most wanted was much more enjoyable, though there wern't as many modes, simply becasue the change of the opponent's cars in this game is way too sharp, and the time you get the cars takes way too long. Being the rushed gamer i am, i decided to get bronze and go on to the next level, but at the pro stage, it's overwhelminly hard to beat with a car under the supra / 350Z stage, mainly becase of the facts that your opponents seem to have all level 2 upgrades and they catch up miraculously fast. Brake too long and you will soon see them in you rear view mirror even though they might have been more than 5 secconds behind.
pros: nice music, lots of cars, lots of modes
cons: money earned too slowly, upgrades and cars earned too slowly(takes on average 7 diffrent races to unlock a new car, and there are about 21 cars, then you have to win about 147 races to get the skyline or corvette(unlesss you win the boss cars)), too much rubber banding(catch up)
