this game is trash. I beat the campaign in two hours. there are only like 8 guns. you can only play 2 player splitscreen. xbox live play is really boring. all people doe is jump around an shoot snipers at each other. melee combat sucks. Dont buy or rent this game. halo 2 is way better than this game.

This game is utterly bad, and not just because of the comparison to its prequel. To come after the single greatest online shooter in history, it is an insult, an atrocious abomination worthy of scorn beyond measure. However, even if it were called something completely different, and in no way related to Unreal Championship, it would still be a very bad game. It lacks entertainment value in spades, the story, while actually pretty good, is extremely short and is replaced with the standard tournament style ladders, and the characters are frustratingly bland.
Malcolm, the one really interesting character, can only be unlocked by going through an absolutely excruciating series of challenges, which manage to be both horribly difficult and horribly boring at the same time, which is a triumph in and of itself. The addition of Raiden from Mortal Kombat is a humorous marketing ploy which, while probably making them millions, is gimicky at best.
Online play is no better. Gameplay is hampered by difficult controls and the fact that half the weapons can be easily reflected back by anyone with reflexes and the melee weapon every character starts with. The maps are so bad as to be humorous. Half of them are an exercise in jumping, either off of buildings or into lifts to get on to the buildings in order to jump off them again when you find someone who is below you. The other half are bland and repetitive, every inch looking like every other inch.
All in all, this may be in the top 10 worst Xbox games ever made. The fact that it appends one of the best Xbox games ever made compounds this fact, not that it needs compounding to be blatantly obvious, leaving the player feeling insulted and ripped off.

What happened to Unreal? This used to be THE shooter. Now its just become a mess. The single player is annoying, you can only play Anubis and he SUX!!. The melee really falls short. If your not a tank then you die really quick. The combos are laughable, all you do is hold the right trigger and hope you don't die before the other guy. The weapons which I thought would be the shining light are horrible. The only one that does enough damage to make a difference is the Rocket launcher which gets old really quick. What is with the Nalhi hunt, how lame do you want to be. I don't care about Xbox live because all its gonna be is people jumping around like idiots, with that "unpresedented mobility" firing rockets at each other. I really tried to like this game but it just isn't any fun. And a game should be fun.
I wanted to like this....

but..nah. Well to be fair the game isn't that bad, it would be a really good game if the Story mode was more interesting and more fun, and not required to unlock the rest of the characters...and if 3rd person melee mode wasn't a requirement, but a choice...and if fatalities from mortal kombat weren't included (the hell?)
You know where I have the most fun? Doing things I did in the original Unreal Tournament. The deathmatches..capture the flag...etc. And I have to turn off some of the new features just to enjoy the game which leads me to think that too much new crap was added. It just seems over complicated, and seems not to know what kind of game it wants to be. Sometimes less is more.
I will say that the graphics and sound is superb, and you can indeed have a lot of fun with this playing against others. I would rent before buying.

Very nice shooter, with a lot of eye candy and fantasy. The only drawback found is the speed of the camera control.
Unreal Championship 2, it's not your daddys first person shooter...

Unreal Championship 2 - Circa 2005
GOOD:
- Play over Xbox-Live (and has downloadable content)
- Gameplay is very different which makes it not another Halo clone
- Graphics look great (Halo 2/Doom 3 quality)
- Over the top matrix or anime style gameplay
- Unique characters and unique setting
- Lot's of maps and gameplay modes
BAD:
- Not really recommend getting this game if you don't have Xbox-Live or play a lot of system link
- Fast and furious game play maybe too much for some who like slower paced FPS like Rainbow six or Counter Strike
- New gameplay style may be difficult to get use to
- Controls are difficult master
- A.I. can be brutal and unforgiving, especially on higher difficulty
- To unlock most of the characters or bonuses you have to play a lot of the single player levels
IF IT FITS YOUR TASTE:
- Great multiple player game on either Xbox-live or system link, Single player is also great training
- This Unreal takes place in a Sci-fi futuristic Egyptian world sort of like Star Gate or Chronicles of Riddick
- First person or third person camera (switch at any point)
- Gameplay is really over the top even when compared to other games of its type like Unreal 2004 and Quake 3
- All characters not only use guns and rockets (etc) but swords staff's and some even use brute strength
GAME ITS MOST ASSOCATED TOO:
- Jedi Knights Academy 2
- Unreal Championship
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
- You can do Mortal Kombat style Fatalities and Radien (from Mortal Kombat) is an unlockable character
Not as fun as on a PC, but well worth the price

First thing I need to get off my chest: I am not a console gamer as I prefer PC gaming.
The gameplay was interesting, the controls pretty solid. The user's guide wasn't very descriptive so learning the bonus maneuvers was a bit tough, but I survived. I enjoyed the game even though the AI did a good job of whooping my butt must of the time, which is better than a painful slaughter.
I look forward to starting the single-player missions (if there are any).
