Keeps getting better

Just when you thought that they couldn't possibly make a new Tony Hawk that provided original gameplay, Activision came out with this awesome game. The best addition to this installment has to be the way that they revamped how you achieve objectives. In previous versions, you had to keep retrying the level, suffering through annoying load times just so you can retry the objectives. Now, there is no timelimit on the levels, and you activate objectives by talking to people on the board. Fail the objective? No problem. Hit start and select "retry objective" from the menu.

Other than that, the graphics have improved, yet again, and the replay value is even higher than it was before. Can life get better? I thought it couldn't, but Activision proved me wrong!

Should have supported xbox LIVE...

...It doesn't support LIVE although it does support the other...third party online play. If you have a PS2 its a good game. The graphics aren't great but the gameplay is good. If you don't plan to play it online...go for it. Seems like a pretty straight forward game. If you liked the other THPS games...you will like this one.

If you have THPS3 Dont buy this unless you are a diehard fan. It isn't that much better. If you have THPS2 or LOWER or NONE definetly get this game. It is a sweet skating game

Fun Game

This game was so much fun!! Compared to Tony Hawk 3, this one is 100 times better. There's more interaction in this version. Instead of have specific goals to meet, you have to find people to talk with and they will give you a task to complete. This game provides hours of fun!!

Should be 6 stars

This is the best Tony Hawk's from all of them. This one you can go around and pick the goals you WANT to do not the goals you HAVE to do (unless you do like very many of them you would have to try\do them to go on) after you complete about 90 or so of the 120 some that is avilable then you get to do specfic goals for ALL the players (excpet for the players you have to buy) including the created skaters.

In my word this is the BEST Tony Hawk's Pro Skater that Neversoft has made, so if you like Sk8boarding games then THPS4 if for you

A Really Great Game

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 is a really fun game. It's for people who enjoy skating games. I got this game on December 27th, and since then it's been a really fun game. You get to do lots of tricks including Kickflip, Heelflip, Hardflip, Nose Grab, Insane Transfers, and many more.

You get to play as all your favorite pro skaters. Plus you get to create your own character as well. During career mode when you do tasks for other skaters and people, you get to up your stats like air, hangtime, switch, rail balance, lip balance, manual balance, and others to make your character better.

They have levels that are really fun, and the first level College, is a really fun level that you have to play before any other level. The level College grabs your interest as you play. The next four levels are San Francisco, Alcatraz, Kona, and The Shipyard. During the levels you do tasks for the other skaters and people around. Some of the tasks are funny like in College you have to clock 5 jocks in one combo, and in Alcatraz you have to take the tour in one minute and the guy talks really fast.

The beginning tasks are easy but as you go on they get pretty hard. Some tasks you go on the vert ramp and do the tricks that people call out and you have 2 minutes to do them. Others make you collect C-O-M-B-O letters while staying in a combo and some make you collect S-K-A-T-E letters all around the level. Some Make you get your special meter up and do tricks like a 360 varial mctwist, darkslide a rail, misty flip a spine transfer, and semiflip over a bulldoser.

I hope this review gives you enough information to get this game, because it's really fun and when you start playing you can't stop.
