Buy "SnowBlind" & play it on Xbox Live, PLEASE!!!

Recommended. "Project SnowBlind" is a cool Xbox Live game, but hardly anybody is ever online to play it! That's a real shame because this game has a lot of weapons & features that make it fun & interesting. You can even set up clans to play the usual shooters events like capture the flag & deathmatch, etc. There is downloadable content available too. Good graphics & many different vehicles add to "SnowBlinds'" replayability factor. The single player mission is okay, giving you many possible approaches to solving a mission or killing enemies. This title is surely trying to measure itself up against the "Halo" franchise, which is good for us as gamers.

Best FPS bar none. I love this game and you will too.

I think this one blows Halo away for many reasons. There are so many weapons you can have and vehicles to drive. The emersion is fantastic. If you are a fan of FPS, you MUST get this one. It is only 19 bucks and is not a short game by any means. This one will stay in my library for years to come.

This was the most fun game I've played in a while. The best part of this game is the ridiculous amount of weapons and gadgets. There are so many that you have to remind yourself to use them all. I kept falling in love with one gun and forgetting about the other ones. They're all good but some are more versatile. This game has the best "gun sounds" that I've ever heard. When you shoot a shotgun it sounds like a real gun and when the shell casing hits the floor it sounds like a real buckshot casing hitting the floor. Every gun shoots and sounds different. I love that attention to detail. I know people will get pissed but I had more fun playing this than HALO 2. I hardly ever died and the enemies weren't invincible FLOOD-creatures that get back up after you already shot the crap out of them. There were a few drawbacks to the game, though. There aren't any pre-set levels, so you'll have to make multiple save points if you want to go back to a fun part of the game. There aren't many vehicles(2) and they sucked to drive. You might as well walk. Also, the graphics don't break any new ground, but they don't detract from overall gameplay. This game could have been 5 stars with a few fixes to it. BOTTOM LINE: If you are a fan of FPS-type games, then you have to play this one. There's not much replay value b/c you can't just jump back to a favorite level (like in HALO 1,2) but I definitely recommend renting this A.S.A.P.

Entertaining, fast-paced Xbox shooter

"Project Snowblind" began life as a title that would exist in the same universe of the "Deus Ex" games (in fact, the early title was "Deus Ex: Clan Wars") but evolved into its own game outside the Deus Ex universe, although if you've played the "Deus Ex" series, there will be much to remind you of Ion Storm's superb cyber-punk thriller.

The player takes on the role of Lt. Nathan Frost, a soldier serving as part of an international peacekeeping force in late 21-century Hong Kong. Like JC Denton of "Deus Ex," Frost is a cyber-soldier, outfitted with "bio augmentations" that grant him abilities such as super-reflexes, night vision, and cloaking to make him temporarily invisible.

The plot is pretty standard FPS fare, as Frost and his team have to hunt out a super weapon before it destroys the world.

The single-player missions involve a lot of running and gunning, but the game design allows the player (somewhat) to tackle obstacles in different ways, whether you want to use your cloak to sneak onto an enemy outpost or run in guns blazing. There are many weapons to use and even some vehicles to drive. Expect about ten hours of play. Multiplayer over Xbox Live or system link again is pretty standard FPS, such as capture the flag and deathmatch.

While not the most graphically impressive Xbox title, the game world is nicely rendered. The textures aren't the sharpest, but the game employs some good lighting and particle effects. Music and sound effects are pretty good and sound great in 5.1 Dolby Digital. The voice acting is also good, for the most part.

"Project Snowblind" isn't the best Xbox shooter, but it is a very entertaining, fast-paced ride.

I love this game!

This game definetely ranks as one of my top twenty videogames of all time. The graphics are crisp/smooth, the gameplay is outstanding, the audio is amazing, and the only feature is better then ever!

Graphics: Like i said, the graphics in Project Snowblind are really good. The animation is crisp and clear, the guns/player models look awesome and the cutscenes are great/entertaining in terms of graphics as well. The graphics are, of course not as good as some Xbox games such as Halo 2, and DOA, but they are definetely good enough to keep you satisfied!

Gameplay: Great! The controls are fairly easy to master, unless you play halo 2 24/7, considering that you can do the same things as you can in Halo 2, except for the fact that some of the buttons are switched in terms of what button to push in order to perform that move. For example, in Halo 2, A is jump, in Project Snowblind, Y is jump. There are also many misions in halo 2 which is another great aspect. The replay value is good enough as well! All in all, the gameplay feature is amazing in this game!

Audio: The audio is really good also as well as everything else in this outstanding game. The voices are really awesome in terms of how it sounds and when you are in intense futuristic war scenes, it seems like you are actually in the war which makes this game super fun.

Online: Ahhh, the online. Probobly one of the best online games that i own currently. You can join clans, just like you can in Halo 2 and whats best is that it never lags! I have owned this game for a month now and i have never lagged which is really surprising, considering the fact that super famous games like Halo 2 lag every once in a while. There are different gamplay types that you can also choose from such as CTF, (capture the flag) Deathmatch, and Team Death Match. Plus many more...

In conclusion, Project Snowblind is an awesome and must be bought immediately!

Great fun for a weekend

In this first person shooter, you are a futuristic bio-enhanced soldier who works with fellow soldiers to take out the bad guys.

You're 2nd Lieutenant Nathan Frost - and you start the game as a 'normal soldier'. But things go badly and suddenly you find yourself in the hospital lab, fully souped up. You have the traditional cool radar screen, the selection reticules and so on. It's like a less science-fiction version of Halo.

Your beefed up abilities include better vision, better reflexes, a stealth mode, a lightning strike and a shield. On the downside, your abilities are electrically based. If an an EMP occurs, your vision shuts down into a fuzzy blur - you become snowblind.

The graphics are reasonably good, with detailed faces, realistic looking combat outfits and a variety of textures on the various objects you interact with. The radar systems and on screen indicators are easy to use without being overly intrusive. On the other hand, the subtitles are often completely lost in the background. It doesn't matter of course unless you are trying to use the subtitles to follow the story.

The voices are reasonably good, although at times they get REALLY annoying. At one point you are supposed to be using a turret to shoot an enemy robot. While you are sitting there shooting at the robot, your 'helper' continually whines at you to hack into the security camera. Well yes, we did that already! I also miss the random 'talking' that made Halo 2 so great. It made you feel like you were in a vibrant, active world. The background sounds are nice - the special effects, piped-in music, voices, combat sounds, all feel realistic.

On the down side, when your health begins to drop, you get that Legend of Zelda-like BING! BING! BING! that drives you completely insane :)

I personally love the reflex bio-mod, it appears to slow down people around you to mimic the effects of your super-fast reflexes. The other bio-mods have their own uses in different situations.

The game is a little on the easy side, and unfortunately it doesn't have different difficulty settings. It would be really great if you could replay the game multiple times, upping the difficulty level each time to really give yourself a workout. But as it is, you can finish the game in under 2 days, and then what?

Yes, there's online multiplayer, which is very much like the Halo 2 system. But to be honest, if you are already playing Halo 2 online, you don't need another system. Variety is nice sometimes, of course. But I'm not sure that most people would play Snowblind online more than a few times before going back to Halo 2. A lot of online gameplay fun comes down to which games your friends have, of course. If all of your friends own Snowblind and don't have Halo 2, then certainly getting Snowblind makes a lot of sense. But I doubt very many people are in that situation.

In general, well recommended for a weekend rental. But be sure to give it that multi-day testing first, before you think about paying full retail price to keep it forever.

Incredible new FPS

Snowblind throws you right into the action from the first moment you turn it on, never letting up until it's all over. The single player campaign tells an incredible story, and the multiplayer elements keep it fresh for months to come. Really makes it the best FPS that I've seen on the PS2!

A Fun But Short Lived FPS.

Snowblind is a First Person Shooter .Your player has advanced Biomodifications. You get these particular mods as you advance in the game. These upgrades include Infared Vision, Reflex Boost which slows down time and increases your speed,Ballistic Shield which is an energy shield that decreases damage taken,Cloak which turns player invisible,Electric Storm which is a tracking ball of lightning ,for a total of 5 upgrades. All of these upgrades use a certain amount of bioenergy which is replenished by finding bioenergy refills.I wish the biomods lasted a little longer they seem to run out of energy a little too fast .You can get replenished from certain droids for both health and bioenergy. You also have a vast array of weapons and they all have an alternate fire mode such as sticky bombs and sticky emp grenade. There is a total of about 12 of these handheld gun weapons which include shotgun, sniper rifle, rocket launcher, silenced pistol, carbine rifle, mine launcher, rail laser, flechette which shoots electricfied rounds and its alternate fire shoots flying attack drones which resemble a hoard of fireflies that swarm the enemy,a H.E.R.F gun thats shoots EMP beam,a security slicer called an Icepick, and a finally Kinetic Kicker gun that pulls or pushes items. You also have various grenades such as frag, flash, gas, emp.also the Riot Shield is a kool feature you throw a riot grenade and a brief plasma type shield deploys and will protect you for a period of time ,but enemies can simply walk around it sometimes. You can Drive certain vehicles simular to the Halo2 warthog, and you can control robots simular to mechassault walkers that fire bullets and missles. This game plays like a linear Shooter there are different routes and sometimes you backtrack but mostly its linear FPS all the way.The graphics are PS2 quality I wish they wouldv'e made the graphics a little sharper sometimes there's a haziness like effect too the levels and its a little grainy. With the Xbox being such a powerful machine they couldve made the graphics cleaner. But the designing of the levels are descent and there is alot too look at.There is a stealth aspect to some of the missions but its not required and its not really a stealth game.Snowblind is an easy game to beat,I finished it in 2 days .Its a quick game with easy enemies and there's no difficulty settings. You really dont even need all the weapons or the biomods to beat it ,I found that you could just use the carbine rifle and kill everyone, but it wouldnt be as fun without using all the different weapons and biomods. This game really is a straight forward shooter that would be easy for most gamers of all ages. There's lots of ammo and health pickups along the way.Snowbind might be too easy of a game for veteran shooters and the graphics arent Xbox quality, and theres no real big difference in this game compared to other FPS.Not to mention its very a very short game. Keep in mind Ive played every (FPS),First Person Shooter, the Xbox and PS2 has to offer .Snowblind would be a good starter FPS shooter game because it is easy to beat and has a simple story line with descent cutscenes.

OK rental

I initially had high hopes for this game, but after playing through the single player mode (which is tiny) and playing the online game for a while this game just isnt up to the standards HALO 2 created. Although i loved Halo 2 i grew weary of the cheaters and lack of maps that it continues to offer (at least until it is patched). Project: Snowblind's online component is a mix between HALO2 and Rainbow Six 3: Black Arrow. The graphics are similar to Rainbow Six and so is the set up, so if you liked it then you would probably like snowblind. This is where i have a problem with the game, the character models don't move realistically and tend to glitch up. The levels are bland and most of them look the same. I expected more on the xbox but apperently this game was ported over after being designed for the ps2 or the pc. I wish that companies would just build games from bottom up for the xbox and use its full potential. 3rd party games seem to always be subpar because they look like their ps2 counterparts. I took a break from halo2 but this game led me right back to playing it. Despite its flaws halo2 is still the game to beat on console shooters and project snowblind is just another speedbump that halo2 has crushed.
