Incredible new FPS

Snowblind throws you right into the action from the first moment you turn it on, never letting up until it's all over. The single player campaign tells an incredible story, and the multiplayer elements keep it fresh for months to come. Really makes it the best FPS that I've seen on the PS2!

Best FPS bar none. I love this game and you will too.

I think this one blows Halo away for many reasons. There are so many weapons you can have and vehicles to drive. The emersion is fantastic. If you are a fan of FPS, you MUST get this one. It is only 19 bucks and is not a short game by any means. This one will stay in my library for years to come.

This game tries to be like Halo, then changes things around enough to the point where you might not be able to tell... But trust me we all do. I'll start with online... it sucks. If you are used to Halo's xbox live pre-game lobbies and buddy lists then you are in for one hell of a awkward time with this game. You are forced to join games that are already in session or create your own from scratch and wait for others to come.. which could be quite awhile unless you have friends on to invite. The guns suck, the maps suck, the laughable copy of Halo vehicles sucks and are incredibly hard to control. Most FPS fans will turn this off within minutes but i gave it a chance because i am so bored with bungie's half-ass effort to bring us new maps. but i'd rather be bored playing the same halo maps over and over then playing this garbage. Man this game blows

Short but sweet single player. Frustrating multi-player

I have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of Project: Snowblind for many months. When I finally got a chance to play it I was in some regards, disappointed. While the single player portions sings, the multi-player component leaves something to be desired. Regrettable, it apparent the online portion was a tacked on after thought. The game would have benefited more form an offline/split screen mode since from a technical standpoint it wasn't built to handle online very well, detracting for its overall experience.
I know Crystal Dynamics already has my $50 and video games are unfortunately items that cannot be returned for full value, so it probably doesn't matter what I say.

1. Aiming and tracking an enemy in online multi-player is more difficult than it should be to do jerky character animations, visual clipping. Does Eidos/Crystal Dynamics plan to address these issues? This game's online multi-player mode had some serious potential but as it is, aiming at characters that look like epileptic monkeys on crack is a frustrating experience. I play others games online and from experience know that aiming need not be a frustrating ordeal. Even though Halo 2 may not be perfect, it is at least a good example of how smooth an online shooter should be. Characters shouldn't disappear then reappear, they shouldn't ice-skate across the map, character shouldn't have their lower body sunken into the bottom of the map, and in 2005 the character models shouldn't have jerky animation reminiscent of games 5 years old. Was the online component even tested? How could any game company in 2005 have been proud of the way this game's multi-player component functions on a technical level? Perhaps these issues are common on PS2 since people are really digging it but for Xbox it seems dumbed down to the point of being crippled.

2. I'm not sure if Eidos is aware of this but in its current state, the ranking system is pretty useless. People are dropping out last moment if their team is loosing or switching over to the winning team. What is the point of a ranking system if it doesn't in anyway indicate the player's level? When you join a game that ends in 3 seconds, if you happened to join on the losing team, it counts as a loss for you, even if you didn't fire a single shot.

3. The audio looks like it never went to testing. The audio periodically drops out in the middle of games for no reason. There is no indication as to who is talking.

4. The multi-play is a quick frag-em affair. It's more conducive to death match than team orientated game modes like the included demolition, CTF and assault. The game works like this: You fight somebody and one person dies, After that the survivor is attacked and he is killed easily because he lost health in the previous fight, then some one kills the guy who survived that round, rinse and repeat. You're never alive for long periods, unless you're some super player.

Now that I am done with the bad, let me say the single player mode is a lot of fun while it lasts. It's about 5-6 hours long and doesn't have the option to set the difficulty setting so if you want more of a challenge, you're out of luck. With regards to game play, Snowblind controls like Halo and gives you many choices of control button layouts. While the AI isn't anything to write home about they do display characteristics that imply intelligence. They will duck behind cover and takes shoots at you whole trying to remain hidden and given the opportunity they will flank you. You have the choice to approach missions with guns blazing, stealthy or you can take advantage of your unique weaponry and augmentations and do things like use the enemy's mechs or even their soldiers against themselves. There are often vents and secondary passageways that give it an open ended approach. The environments are all beautifully designed and original even if the textures resemble those from a cheap PS2 game. One of the games main attractions is the sheer amount of chaos on the screen. There are times that between your squad and the enemy soldiers they'll be 20 soldiers onscreen at a time. Add to that 12 foot pilot controlled mechs, smaller remote mechs, turrets, spider-bots, the effects of special weapons like lightning and explosions and it's quite something to behold. If your main concern is a solid shooter and you don't mind a short game then this is the game for you. However if a fun multi-player experience is what hooks you, then I'd either ship on it or wait for a patch to address the lag, animation and other online issues.

An exciting and different type of FPS

After going through Project: SNOWBLIND for awhile I have to say this is one of the most exciting shooters I have ever played. The maps are HUGE, the different ways you can play through each mission seem almost endless. The game is also really nice to look at. I purchased this one for the Single player mostly and it just really blows me away. The powers are also dazzling in terms of special effects. The cutscenes are also absolutely amazing, they set the game perfectly and also pace you perfectly as well. A not miss title!

Amazing Game!

Even though the X-Box is littered with First Person Shooter games to keep everyone happy, it is very apparent that Project Snowblind isn't like every other FPS to hit the system in the past several years.

The game features and exciting, gripping story that paces you well and leaves you wanting to come back and play more and more. The multiplayer is strong and engaging, which continues to be a strong suit for many games that support X-Box Live.

The graphics are smooth and the textures interesting. The music fits the mood and tone of the game and sets you off in the right direction. Controls are also a plus as there is limited issue with the controls.

For those of you looking for a great First Person Shooter, or just an exciting game--- Project Snowblind is the game for you! Highly recommended!

What a game

This one just blew me away. I can't believe how much this game offers. Cars to run people over with! Mechs to blast people with! Rail guns! and just the way you use them... so cool, and then you get a shield like where you can't die if they shoot you. Plus there's this thing where you if you die, you get brought back to life. Sooo awesome.

This is the game everyone should get for whatever system. It's that good!

Entertaining, fast-paced Xbox shooter

"Project Snowblind" began life as a title that would exist in the same universe of the "Deus Ex" games (in fact, the early title was "Deus Ex: Clan Wars") but evolved into its own game outside the Deus Ex universe, although if you've played the "Deus Ex" series, there will be much to remind you of Ion Storm's superb cyber-punk thriller.

The player takes on the role of Lt. Nathan Frost, a soldier serving as part of an international peacekeeping force in late 21-century Hong Kong. Like JC Denton of "Deus Ex," Frost is a cyber-soldier, outfitted with "bio augmentations" that grant him abilities such as super-reflexes, night vision, and cloaking to make him temporarily invisible.

The plot is pretty standard FPS fare, as Frost and his team have to hunt out a super weapon before it destroys the world.

The single-player missions involve a lot of running and gunning, but the game design allows the player (somewhat) to tackle obstacles in different ways, whether you want to use your cloak to sneak onto an enemy outpost or run in guns blazing. There are many weapons to use and even some vehicles to drive. Expect about ten hours of play. Multiplayer over Xbox Live or system link again is pretty standard FPS, such as capture the flag and deathmatch.

While not the most graphically impressive Xbox title, the game world is nicely rendered. The textures aren't the sharpest, but the game employs some good lighting and particle effects. Music and sound effects are pretty good and sound great in 5.1 Dolby Digital. The voice acting is also good, for the most part.

"Project Snowblind" isn't the best Xbox shooter, but it is a very entertaining, fast-paced ride.
