Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2 is an ok game.
When looking at others reviews most disliked the game an didn't like it at all. This game is not that bad,I think I would go with Project Gothume, Sega GT 2,or maybe even GT 3 for Playstation 2. I would reccomend it to any one that likes racing cars or the show COPS. But I think there is one thing missing they don't have enough cars! This game only has about 10 to 15 cars while Project Gothume has about 23 cars. And GT 3 has about as many cars as there is in the world right now. One other thing if you don't like racing cars and prefer suping them up this game is not for you, and go with Grand Tusimo 3.

This game is awesome.If you love the need for speed series, than you have to buy this game.

I bought this game recently, because my favorite type's of games are racing games. I also bought Need for Speed 3 Hot Pursuit a couple of years ago and it was a GREAT game. The graphics might not have been excelent but the game play was great and the Hot Pursuit mode was the best part of the game. So I bought this game in hope it would live up to the excelence of NFS 3. However I was dissapointed from a few aspecs of this game.
Firt I'll talk about the good points of this game. This game has EXCELENT graphics, cars, and tracks. The tournement modes are also good. They start out kinda annoying because you cars are not that high performance. Then it gets really fun for most of the challenges, but then the last few (in the really high performance cars like F50's, McLarrens, Merc. CLK-GTR's) can get really hard (if you want the gold at least). Ther are two tournament modes Championship and Hot Pursuit (with cops). However my absolute favorite aspect of this game is when the cops are so far behind you they call in "Air Support" and then a helicoptor begins droping explosive barreles infront of you.
Now I will point out the bad aspects of this game. For one when you are the cop to stop the cars you simply just ram them as hard as you can. That is SOOO stupid. In NFS 3 you had to some how make there car stop (cutting it off, running it into a tree, etc) so it was fun and involved some strategy. However just simply ramming the cars in this game may sound easy but it's not. It may be more simple, but it is hard because it get REALLY annoying when you pass the car, stop, look back, and the car suddenly speed's up and passes you (accelerating much faster then you can), then you have to catch up to him again. Also this game has HORRIBLE replays. The replay is just exactly what you saw, except you can change the speed. If this game did not have Slow Motion cameras that circled you when ever you cought air, or an explosive barrel hit you, you would never see the front of you car unless you looked back.
That is what I thought of Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2. It was a really good game, but it could have been better.

This is an awesome game that every racing, action packed person would like! Its got some of the best cars including ferrari corvette bmw jaguar lotis and more! there are cops and you better escape from them or you'll be busted!!! you have to win races and get points to buy tracks, cars, and even rase cars. you can even be the cop! its 1 to 2 players

Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 is a MUST HAVE for whatever system you have. The realistic enviroments include dust storms and brush fires, intense beams of light, and rain/snow. You can choose from several TOP LICENSED vehicles including the Ferrarri 360 Spider. Several great gaming modes include Hot Pursuit, Top Cop, Championship, and Be The Cop. For any X-Box owner: YOU MUST HAVE THIS GAME! The reason i gave it 4 stars is just because i don't like the X-Box's controller (i hate joysticks), for those of you who have a PS2, get NFS:HP2 for it, not X-Box. But if all you have is an X Box, then BUY IT NOW!

...I feel robbed just renting it! This game is miserable in so many ways I don't know where to begin. As the race started, the first thing I noticed was, the frame rate is about 15-20 frames per second(the average is 30, a good-decent game is 60 frames per second. Heck, most racer games can generate 60 fps). There is NO excuse for this horrible frame rate. It looks more like pictures flashing in front of the screen! It's so choppy that I never felt like I was racing, just watching a bad cartoon. The SECOND thing I noticed was the graphics are pitiful. This game is NOT worthy to be on the XBOX(... the XBOX is capable of much more and I expect it!)...

THIS IS THE BEST GAME EVER!IT HAS SO MANY COOL CARS.AND THE GRAPHICS ARE AMAZING.AND THE CARS ARE VERY FAST.IF YOUR THE POLICE YOU COULD CALL FOR ROAD BLOCKS AND HELICOPTERS.AND THE POLICE HAVE NOS BOOSTERS TOO.

I think that need for speed hot pursuit 2 is the best need for speed yet. i think it is a fun game to play and belove it or not it is also somewhat educatinaol. theches you about some spec. of the car. i think its a great game for any system.

Now my favorite racing game and one of my best XBox game purchases. The length of these highly detailed tracks within the game is incredible. Like all Need For Speeds there are very beautiful landscapes surrounding you. My heart rate jumped up after running from the police. Don't like running from the police all the time? they thought of that and have an entire portion of the game devoted to racing without them.

Shame on EA SPORTS...this game is MISERABLE!

People should NOT be allowed to rate a game before its release! This game was clearly NOT ready to be released. There is so many things WRONG with this game all I can say is SAVE YOUR MONEY! DO YOU UNDERSTAND? SAVE YOUR MONEY...It's NOT even worth renting. In fact, I feel ripped off just renting it(but I thank the good Lord I rented it first!). I'm serious...DON'T WAISTE YOUR MONEY! It's a choppy, poor frame-rate, sorry graphics and miserable car physics piece of VIDEO-[garbage]!
