you can finally play as snake throught the whole game. Witch you you can play him in the plant part ot the game.Or even play as raiden in the tanker episode. It is also going to contain hundreds of versus missions to keep you occupied for awhile. Snake will also be able to wear the original suit as in part one witch makes this game real interesting and worth it.

Well, like everyone else in the world, I haven't played this game. But, I CAN say it will be great. In case you don't know (check out konami.com if you don't believe me), the ps2 hit 'Sons of Liberty' IS included in 'Substance!' Yep, and that has me now wondering why I ever CONSIDERED buying a ps2. True, GTA 3 is the best game to date (I own it for PC) and Vice City is sure to be better (maybe). Anyway, 'Substance' includes over 200 VR missions, 5 "Snake Tales" (using the original Sons of Liberty arenas, Konami made 5 new stories), and of course Sons of Liberty. There is actually skateboarding in the game (weird), but i'm sure it'll be pretty cool. Anyway, this game has me now battling between the Cube and the X-Box now. X-Box owners, BUY THIS GAME!!!!!!

Finally the MGS franchise comes to the XBox proof to all that that PS2 is becoming outdated. This version of MGS2 will be like 5 games in one. First of you'll get to play the entire game as Snake or as Raiden. Second their will be the snake tales 5 different adventure each with its own different ending.Third theirs the VR mission over 300 different mission that take place in real time I.E. if its 8:00 PM on your Xbox its night time in the game and if its 6:00 in the morning its daytime in the game. Also their is going to be a ton of camio apperances from previous MGS characters. And let us not forget the 100+ alternate missions. On top of that youll their is going to be at least 5 different cosmtumes snake can wear and its seems their might even be a first person shooter mode in the vr missions. Ive already pre-ordered my copy of this game and i suggest you do the same if you enjoyed playing MGS:2 sons of liberty youll love MGS2:substance.

Yes. this it the REAL MGS 2. it includes sons of liberty, Snake tales, mini missions, and also, VR Missions. This will be the greates game ever!...that is untuil Metal Gear Solid 3 comes out. Oh, and by the way you little X-box no brainers, it will be coming out for the PS2, also. Oh yeah, i forgot... alex G. thinks its outdated. PS2.. outdated...haha...that's funny.

MGS 2 was a really good game, but not as deep as the first one on the PSX. MGS Substance is basically the japanese release of the game (american version didnt have all the extras!!). You can skate, play as new characters, watch the movies with different characters, and more VR type missions. I am sure those things add some replay value to the game, but other than that, there is nothing new going on. Story is exactly the same, graphics are same, control and sound are carbon copy of original MGS 2. If you havent played or owned MGS 2, then substance is the one to get.

... This is a Great Game!With the multiple Characters,300 VR missions But I;m really looking foward to MGS3 Whwn the Patroits Were Dead All along!This will be on my X-mas list this year!It is a great game for the PS2!

It is true that the Japanese version of MGS2 Sons of Liberty is slightly different from the US version, but the differences are relatively minor; e.g. You select the difficulty at the beginning of the game by answering questions, rather than simply choosing your desired difficulty from a list. Come to think of it, I can't name any other differences.

MGS2 Substance is much MUCH more than merely an American release of the Japanese version. The skate boarding, the VR missions, the Snake Tales missions, playing as the Ninja, all of it is brand new. Both Japan and America will have two versions of MGS2, A) Sons of Liberty and B) Substance. While I question the ethics of video game publishers milking their products by slapping on some new extra features and re-releasing it, I just wanted to clear that up.

MGS2 was good but I was disappointed by the lack of game play innovation. Now Konami is milking the cow presenting this port that doesn't take advantage of the Xbox hardware, but excuses itself by giving extra half-baked missions.
I think that MGS2 was made for the PS2, if you haven't played it, it is maybe worth on Xbox, otherwise get a game that was done for the Xbox like Splinter Cell.

Hey everyone,
we have to respect the PS2'ers for their system and games and they should do the same for us Xboxers. I haven't played SOL but I have seen video's and screenshots and this game looks amazing. I can't imagine what it's going to be like having the Snake Tales, alternate missions, 300???+ VR missions, able to play different people with different uniforms. I am an xboxer and I have to say that this game, I think, will kick... and be #1!!!!! If it weren't for the PS2 and Hideo-San, we would not have this marvelous construction of code and visuals. Long Live PS2 and Xbox

A must have!

OK. Metal Gear Substance is going to be a blast for those of you who haven't played the game yet. I haven't even played it yet but I am excited about this game. You could do al lot of stuff in Metal Gear Substance that you couldn't do in Metal Gear Solid like hide in lockers, hold a bad guy as a hostage with your socom, shoot during first Person View Mode, and other stuff. The game will have great enemy AI that means the guys that go after you will be actually be smart. ...
