GREAT GAME!

I put off buying any of the Halo series for so long because I didn't think it would be my type of game. I finally broke down and bought Halo 2 and this game is AWESOME! I was hooked! Definately worth every penny. I have beat the game several times already and still enjoy starting all over! I chose basic shipping and it was at my house within days or ordering!

Great Game

Great game! It was well thought out, but a bit of a cliffhanger for the third installment. Graphics were well done, but storyline not as in depth as Halo 1. Still, all in all an awesome game that I enjoyed from start to finish.

BRAVO MICROSOFT, 2 DAYS TILL HALO 3!!!!

Contrary to most people, I like the ending. It leaves room for a Halo 3, which while on the 360 will have 3x the capabilities of the original XBOX.
I must admit that at first I was confused by the ending, since I was so eager to play more I skipped the cut-scenes. Two years later, I play Halo 1 WITHOUT skipping the cut-scenes. I was excited to go on to 2. Then I realized how much of a cliffhanger 2 offers; It makes the cliffhanger from Star Wars 5-6 look like a Mario game (which by the way, is awesome, but never has cliffhangers). Since 3 will be out on the 360 in 2 days, I cannot wait to battle in the finest graphics and speeds available. FINISH THIS FIGHT!!!!!!

awesome

HALO II

To start it is not the original HALO, it lacks the interface and subtles of strategy and tactics. It is a game where "more" is pervalent. More firepower, dual-whield, more guns, more vehicles, more characters, more drama, more explosions, more levels, more and more. I dislike more.

I prefer the simple story of finding yourself marooned on an unexplainable and enigmatic ring, searching for information, fighting to survive and to overcome.

HALO II is too caught up with itself. The first game did not know itself as a blockbuster...it was simple, effective, entertaining. HALO DOS is a hyperactive verison of Die Hard films.

One pro it has is Xbox Live. You can fight your friends online, if you prefer competitive play. The maps are anywere from decent to outstanding.

Decent, at best

This game is a matter of comparison. It's SP, compared with its predecessor, is complete garbage. You get about two levels in, and you start to wonder why you are still holding the controller. If you want to keep up with the story, then play the SP game, and pay close attention, as it is rather complex. If you don't plan to get H3 and finish out the story line, then you probably won't have the patience to finish the game.

As for the MP, it is better than the first one. Which is not to say it is good, as the balance factor is terrible (battle rifle, plasma pistol, rocket launcher, and sniper rifle - thats it, the only worthwhile guns in the game, roughly in order of importance). The only more unbalanced online shooter I have played in recent memory was . . . well . . . Halo 1.

Overall, it is only valuable as a segue between Halos 1&3. Otherwise, avoid it, its not worth the time.

Just recently...

This was purchased as a gift for my son and he loves it. He completed the first one and is on his way to completing this one. Halo 2 is a little shorter than the first one but is still worth it if you liked the first Halo. I have played it a few times with him and it's not bad. I think this one may be better than the first, but it's a hard choice because they are both good. This plays fine on the Xbox 360, by the way, just as the first one does.

The sequel to the game that sold Xbox systems.

Halo 2 seems to have disappointed a lot of fans, while also attracting many new ones. I'm a fan of the series as a whole, and still consider Halo 2 to be a solid and worthy addition to the series.

This game really was a graphics standout when it came out. it pushed the original Xbox to its limits. I don't think there was a better looking game at the time for consoles in my opinion. This isn't to say it didn't have its share of problems. Indeed it had its share of texture pop in and frame rate issues, probably a result of pushing the Xbox too far.

The soundtrack is generally the same as the one from the original Halo, but with a bit more rock music. I didn't really notice any improvement in terms of sound effects from the last game. Not exactly revolutionary, but still good.

The campaign is pretty short, a main complaint of fans including myself. Many people complaining bout the ending, but i think its fine, it leaves you wanting more. There's actually some pretty good plot twists in the story this time around, although nothing quite as big as the introduction of the flood. A cool thing they added this time around is the introduction of the arbiter, a hardcore Elite executioner. You can also use Elite swords now, which are awesome. They got a rid of a couple old weapons from Halo: Combat Evolved, but have also added some news ones, trying to make them more balanced. You can also now dual wield smaller one handed weapons. What really added tot he game this time around is the online multi-player. People are still playing years after the game has been released. Its definitely a great online shooter experience that adds a lot of replay-ability.

A very awesome game with balanced weapons and vehicles, a good but short campaign, and groundbreaking graphics. This is a game to be experienced.

played the first halo. it had some great moments. mind you, it wasn't perfect. game was too dark, some maps were reused, & too much backtracking. i dont understand why bungie couldn't have included a map so i'd know where i was going. also, the library chapter was plain repetitive tedium. halo 2 was basically the same, probably even worse. i mean, playing as the arbiter sucked. basically too much hype. but the multiplayer is where halo shines. solo campaigns are just ok.
