They still have the nerve to charge $50???

Look, San Andreas is a great game, no question. If you get any GTA game, get this one - it's truly HUGE and it truly has it all - "it" being your basic carjackings, your hood tagging, your drive-bys, your pimping, your stealth B&E missions, basically every form of sociopathy known to man - in its best incarnation yet.

The problem is that RockStar is still trying to wring $50 out of this re-release on a dying platform, this late in the game. I mean, are you serious. I have this title on PS2, and I WOULD get it for XBox too just cuz I know the graphics probably knock it out of the park - but come on. Wasn't even the GTA3/Vice City double pack like $30 when it first came out?

So, screw it. I'll stick with my low-res, high-loading-time, feature-poor PS2 version till they come out with their next-gen installment.

BTW - the people who vote this review "unhelpful" are RETARDS - just so you all know. I said I like the game! I just don't think they should keep it at this price point. So unless you actually think overpriced games are great, you shouldn't be voting me down. ;) lol

So much to do, so much time.

GTA San Andreas is a big improvement over the past GTA games in the series! There are just so many things to do. My personal favorite is the co-op mode. I also like customizing my ride, doing drive-bys (in cars and helicopters), jumping off of a building and parachuting, plus the simple goodness of shooting the hell outta whoever you want. Also the Xbox version has smoother graphics than the PS2 version and you can add your own custom soundtracks to the game. Overall, the Xbox Version of GTA San Andreas is much better than ANY other game of the GTA series, even the PS2 version of San Andreas. Buy NOW! (P.S. I'm not a kid, I just lost my password.)

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Halo 2 is All I Need

These are the only two games that I own for Xbox and for good reason. I have bought many games in the past, but after I beat them I just sell them to at least get half the purchase price back. I have yet to be bored with Halo 2 (thanks to Xbox Live) and I know this game will be the same way after playing it for two days now. The world is HUGE and I have yet to make it out of the first of three cities. I have been wanting to play this game since it came out on PS2, but I am glad to have waited the 6 months now due to the improved graphics and 30 second replays that the Xbox version has to offer. Easily worth buying!

The GTA Universe continues to expand..into San Andreas!

Being a big fan of the others in this family of games, I hurriedly purchased it after waiting ohhh so long for it to come out on XBOX.

I was thrilled. The GTA family keeps the same formula for success, while adding enhancements and features to each predecessor, making them refreshingly challenging and fun upon each release.

Familiar friends return with the option of multiple weapons, social enactment such as purchasing power, and a multitude of soundtracks ranging from hip-hop, rap, rock, and old-school country. The storyline, action, and cinematic vision all meld together nicely for what makes to be one of the best games of the year, from a video-game line that is the most successful of the past 10!

With SA, the biggest 2 factors right off the bat are the expansion of land mass that you can cover. This thing does not go 16 blocks out to the waters edge and end, forcing you to turn back. It's AN ENTIRE CITY! Multiple Counties are tallied as you run through the hills on foot. Gang Members abound making what used to be the "average citizen" all the more dangerous to deal with. Cops on motorcycles are fluent as you travel through rich and poor neighborhoods that are connected by multiple, long sprawling freeways with several off and on ramps that help you jump down into a downtown area to garner your next mission or simple raise havoc in a community. The 2ND great feature, what with all the area you have to cover, is the "pointer pen"..this option is similiar to GPS in that you can mark your place on a map so you can easily continue on without getting disoriented, or even if you simply want to return to the "scene of the crime". Aircraft are abundant in it as well. What can I say, you could play this thing for hours!

Other fantastic features...well lets say it's a cross between SIMS and Boyz in the hood...

1) Walk into any pizza or burger joint and get your health back up with some food.

2) Customize yourself, you have a variety of things in wardrobe and will be able to shop for clothes. Don a Bandana, some cammo pants, a hockey mask, and high tops. Watches, Chains, hats, and glasses are also available!

3) Get a haircut of any kind, there are so many to choose from at the barber shop...even a pink mohawk!

4) Tattoo shop. Now this is pretty cool. I had CJ decked out with a giant AK-47 across his shoulderblades. There is a wide variety of tats to skin yourself with!

5) Go to the local gym and work out, you'll need to build your strength and stamina as you build your gang and take back your turf!

6) Accumulate money to buy real estate that will be your "safe houses". This feature we've seen before but is definitley a bennie!

7) Get points for pulling off great dancing moves at the clubs.

8) You can walk up to pretty much any arcade machine and play a classic video game!

Those are just some of the features that makes this game a cut above the rest. It's not just shooting and stuff...you are building your life in the XBOX world of SAN ANDREAS!

A Masterpiece!

The ultimate GTA game San Andreas is absolutly stunning. GTA: S.A. takes the series into both macro & micro levels with a ton of added mini games & not to mention the ton of regular missions. Weighing in at 5 times the square mileage of GTA:Vice City. San Andreas is the coolest, grittiest, biggest action game I have ever played on any console. The XBOX version has sharper clearer textures, with progressive scan & 16:9 widescreen support. Improved lighting & the world is less saturated ,& the draw distance is better than the PS2 version . Although the graphics arent stunning the overall scope & attention to detail is fantastic. Also exclusive to the XBOX version you can play your own custom soundtrack from your xbox's hard-drive, it shows up in the radio playlist while your driving. There is also a 30 second instant replay feature exclusive to the XBOX version ,this is kool when you just performed an insane jump & you wanna watch it again. Load times are faster than the PS2 version ,when you enter a building no long load times on the XBOX,the transitions are flawless almost in the blink of an eye. Im glad I waited for the XBOX version.Everything that was in the other games is in here & more, much, much ,more. You could easily call this game an ACTION/RPG with all of new things to do that have been added to this installment of the GTA series. On the action side they have added bike riding abilities now in this series & its incredibly fun & addictive ,you can do bunny hops, ride in bowls, ramps, back yards. etc. On The RPG side you can eat, get fat ,get thin, work out, get buffed, buy clothes, get haircuts, get girlfriends, run gangs,etc.etc. The Mini-games you can play pool, shoot hoops, horse betting, dance in clubs, etc. The list goes on & on.I could go on for hours how awesome this game is . There is just so much to cover & review. GTA: San Andreas is easily a 60 to 80 hour game to get the coveted 100% game completion. GTA: San Andreas is (NOT) & I repeat (NOT) the the standard rent & beat it in one week type game. San Andreas is a definatly MUST OWN game. My New Favourite Game.

Amazing in all ways

I have played both console versions of this game, and the only differences are:
1) The loading times
2) The graphics
3) The first 10 minutes of gameplay

The first ten minutes of gameplay in this game shows the funeral for CJ's mother, and that is the only huge difference.

The game is great, I'm not going to tell you any more so that I don't ruin this masterpiece. Have fun with it!

Best Game on Xbox

Okay, I'm not really a kid, but I didn't feel like filling out all the forms.
Hands down, this is the best game on Xbox, and worth every penny. Even the voice acting is great with big names like Samuel L. Jackson, James Woods, Charlie Murphy, and The Game. But where this game really stands out and makes it different then the othertwo is the sheer size and scope of the game. I've played it for eight hours and have not even gotten out of the first city.
Another cool new addition is that co-op is now possible if you have a friend over.
The only thing that I disliked about the game was that for some reason, they decided to change all the camera angles and it's harder to drive with the ones that they put in. All in all however, if you own an Xbox, you should own GTA:San Andreas

A GRAET GAME.(GET THE GTA DOUBLE PACK FIRST THOUGH)

Before you buy this great game,GTA:San Andreas for either XB or PS2(or maybe in future GC) buy the GTA:Double Pack(GTAIII&Vice City) and complete and understand them so you get GTASA atmossphere and style because people who just buy the latest sequal end up saying "Its too violent" or "Too violent for kids" because i have got all the 3D GTA games on my PS2(and plan to get them all again when i get an XBox) and i am 12(kids age) and i don`t swear my mouth off, ride my bike/mini motor bike dangerously, hit others in school ect. and i used to play these games every day until i got bored of them cos i was stuck or had completed them only get these games for kids if they can handle the violence, like me.But still XBox gamers get and complete the GTA Double Pack before you get San Andreas or even Driver 3 you WILL enjoy these games if you love action.
p.s. if you have an XBox,but no PS2 and another GTA game comes out and only for PS2 don`t go out and spend $/£ 115 on a PS2 cos R* will release a better version for XBox later on in the year.Just use your patience for pekes sake.

Not as good as Vice City

San Andreas was a huge dissapointment for PS2, so I had no idea what to expect when I began it for Xbox. It was a lot of fun, but a lot harder than Vice City for Xbox. In comparison of the two, San Andreas is much more violent and the language is unbearable. I don't necessarily regret buying the game, but if you are looking for a fun game, and don't have Vice City I highly recommend that instead of San Andreas.

The pros of this game are that the city is much larger, many additions to vehicles, and creative original missions that don't get old.

Between the violence and language; and the improvements since Vice City, I would say the game cancels out to be an "ok" game.
