I've been hearing a lot of folks talk about how horrid the
camera angles are. DO NOT expect the same out of this game
as a 3rd person game!! Once I accepted this game for what it
was, I began to realize this game is refreshingly different and
had a TON of fun! The graphics are amazing and the cut scenes
are top quality and VERY entertaining. I did, however, take
issue to the direction they went with the surviver in the story-
line. In the end I was sad that the game was over. Hats off to
Capcom! I really hope the franchise stays alive and maintains
this level of excellence.
Who said Xbox doesn't has good games besides Halo?

I'm not writing this review based on what i heard about this game, i played the final japonese version, and man, it's great. Forget about the previous Dino Crisis games, because this is very diferent; there's no Regina and the game takes place inside a spaceship, in the year 2548. The graphics are fantastic (i'm speaking of Xbox quality), the ship where the game takes place, Ozymandias, is very shiny, with a good amount of detail; the texture and lightining/refletion work is amazing, you've got see to beliave. The character models and the dinosaurs look very good. The introdutore cinematic is one of the best that i saw, very impressive, truly next gen (Capcom is the best). The sound is good, not great, but do the job fine. The gameplay is pure action, more like Dino Crisis 2, but with good twists, like the jetpak that allows the player jump high, float in the air for a moment and "walk" faster. Worth of mention is the "wasp", a device that works as a secondary weapon, very useful in dangerous situations. You can fire in a firt person view, wich is also useful to explore the gigantic ship. This game is done in full 3D, and the camera work reminds me of that in Devil May Cry. The only problem with the camera is that at certain points it may be a little frustaiting, expecialy in the heat of the battle. In the end, this game makes a nice addition to the Xbox game library.
Totally unbalanced, but salvagable

This game has the same problem as Oni for PS2- When I played it 'fair', the way it was designed to be played, it wasn't fun. When I 'cheated', I had a great time playing it. I started out playing Normal difficulty mode, as I always do when I first play a game. The first thing I noticed was that I was constantly being victimized by cheap shot attacks from enemies that came lunging at me from far off screen, and their attacks do an absurdly high amount damage. I was getting killed much too often, and this presented a problem; continues in this game have to be bought using "tactical credits" that are better spent on health items, stat upgrades, ammo, etc. Once you're out of Continues, that's it. Game Over. But rather than just give up and throw in the towel, I started over on Easy difficulty instead of Normal. Mind you, I've been playing video games for over 30 years now. I -never- play games in easy mode. It's beneath me, I consider it virtually cheating. I never use codes of any kind either (or at least not until I've beaten the game fair and square.) Nonetheless, I must say that playing this game on easy turned out to be a lot of fun. The only difference I noticed was that I now had unlimited continues. Combat isn't as fun as it could be, but exploring the HUMOUNGOUS ship and solving the puzzles made up for it. This is very different from the first two Dino Crisis games, but all fans of the series should try it.
Great game with major flaws.

Despite the "worst camera in the world" and the frustrating save system I still enjoy this game and I have played it through a few times.
The problem with the game is that the camera system is so frustrating most gamers will quit long before they realize the game has tough battles, great graphics and atmosphere, and a cheesy sci-fi story. Ok, so its not all good news :)
The camera is not the only problem, I felt the save system was a bit difficult to deal with as well. The problem is that you save, then go well into enemy territory, make some progress and withing an inch of your death you finish off a tough mini boss battle only to find there is no where to save. So you have to go back a few rooms. But when you do, a single dino gets a very cheap shot in that was almost impossible to avoid and you die. So you either have to use up one of you expensive saves or do the whole thing over. After that happens a few times you want to throw the controller.
But I still played on. Why? I just really like the games atmosphere, music, and action when the game got it right. The puzzle solving is also quite good since it involve transforming the ship into different formations. Its like playing inside a huge transformer. Very cool.
If you have the patience and skill, the game can be quite rewarding. Just keep in mind it takes at least a few hours to get used to the wonky camera and combat system. I would not pay a lot for the game but as a bargain bin game you might just be surprised. But you may just be frustrated too.
EDIT: I totally agree with the other review here that stated that playing on easy is a good way to lighten the frustration with the game and its a good idea. I have been gaming for 30+ years as well and I always play on the default difficulty but with this game I would highly recommend easy for the first run through.
JUST RENT IT. NOT WORTH BUYING!

The ONLY reason this game gets 3 Stars is for the graphics and Cinema Scenes. The game had so much potential to be an Incredible game. But the CAMERA ANGLES SUCKED! You can't see what you are shooting 85% of the time. What fun is a game when you can't see what you are killing? Sure it has auto aim but I want to see the Blood and the Dinosaurs getting killed. Not worth buying, JUST RENT IT... Took only 2 days to clear. It seems as if the People at Capcom were in a hurry to just release this game, and didn't take into consideration how damn frustrating the camera angles are. If you get this game be prepared to throw your controller out of frustration...... A LOT!
Awsome!

Like many others have said, yes the camera angles do really make you want to snap your fist through the screen, but all is still good, it just seems to add onto how fun the game was, not knowing whats around the next bend, not knowning if some raptors going to headbutt you from behind ... then when you think your done, you have to go back to the complete start and do it again! The storyline is the best, Well i think so, the graphics rules and the gameplay is pretty great itself ... Now I want to be stuck on a ghostly ship, overrun by freaky mutated dinosaurs with a hellish gun and a heap of wasps as firepower ... three cool teamates and a whole hell of fun! Great game. Its worth a look and a half!

This game has great graphics and gameplay . The new dinos look cool and the whole idea of them in space is awsome but The camera kills the whole game , its the worst camera ever . If you can deal with the camera then pick this game up if you want action ... also you cant see the enemies half the time. DC3 should have been so much better..
Very good game

I have played a demo of this game and it was really good, there are new dinosaurs, amazing weapons and whole type of controlling system. As you progress through the game the whole ship changes around new walls open and everything that was closed is open. And there are new scarier types of dinosaurs. You are equiped with 2 hyper boosters so you have the ability to kind of fly around with the freedom of any kind of movement such as side to side moing etc. The only reason I rated this game a four is because it doesn't have anything to do with the Regina, Dylan and Paula storyline. If you are looking for a true sequal to dino crisis 2 you should buy Dino Stalker which involves 2 old charachters and one new one. Overall this is a really good game.
Not very impressed.

I'm a big fan of the previous Dino Crisis games and I'm a little disappointed with this one so far. The graphics are great. The gameplay takes a little getting used to, but your equipment is really cool.As far as the game itself, it doesn't seem to be any more than dodge-shoot-dodge-shoot. The dinosaurs just look silly to me. I'd rent this before I bought it.
Great graphics! Really bad camera angles

As a game, it's really good. Awesome opening sequence, and the cut-scenes are top notch. The only real problem I have with this game, which is a big problem, is the camera angles. Half of the time you can't see what's in front of you. Totally unlike real life. Difficult to make any jumps when the camera angle keeps changing in mid jump. Instead of paying attention to the game, I payed more attention to getting around the camera bug. It's hard to immerse yourself in a game when the whole time your complaining about not seeing what's in front of you...
