Hats off to XBOX for making a great game! The story line is great! The graphics are top notch, and the sound is awsome. I didn't want this game to end. I found myself a little dissapointed that the game was so short, but maybe that's because I was so into it! I really loved the vehicle you ride in in the end...That could have gone on longer as far as I'm concerned. This game is fun and it does not dissapoint. You can tell the designers took there time in making this game, and it shows.

The chronicles of riddick: escape from butcher bay may become the best xbox game ever created. This game literally came out of nowhere to become what i think as the most fun and challenging games for xbox since the release of Halo. I saw both Pitch Black and the Chronicles of Riddick and i loved them. So, when i found out that they had a game for xbox about Riddick, i got up and went over to wal-mart and bought it there, without even looking at the price. Well, however much i payed for this game was worth it, because i is my favorite.

You start off inside Butcher Bay, the galaxy's toughest triple max pison. This is one of the best parts in the game because you can explore the cell block all you want, and find some cool tasks to do along the way. Eventually, Riddick (whose voice is done by Vin Diesel, and there are also other famous voice talents in the game, like Xzibit)tries to find a way out, and in the process kills a gang leader along with many other prisoners. He finds a way out of the cell block. This is where the real adventure starts. Riddick finds his way through literally hours upon hours of gameplay, going throught mines to vents to sewers to guards quarters to even a gas filled room. The storyline is an extremely good aspect of this game, as it is deep and richly detailed.

Don't be fooled by the movies, this game is all about using your stealth and your mind to find a way around. You will not survive through the fist few levels if all you do is run and gun. The stealth action in this game even compares to the almighty Splinter Cell. The game even has a horror-kind of theme in some levels, where you are in the pitch black and there are weird zombie like things and strange creatures after you, sometimes sneaking up behind you. You will jump a few times. Also, for those who think all you use is guns, you are wrong. It is a blessing if you get a gun, which makes this game so unique for a FPS (first person shooter). Most of the time you will either be using your fists, clubs, or crude knives called shivs. When you do get a gun, you are so used to being deprived of one that it kind of takes away some of the fun, because it is fun to sneak up behind guards and break their necks or cut their throats with a shiv. The best gun is the traquilizer, it shoots an electro-magnetic pulse into them, causing the enemy to fall. You then have to kill them or they will get back up. Other weapons include shotgun, brass knuckles, assault rifle, minigun, pistol, and grenades.

The graphics in this game are arguably the best ever created, its only competition being Doom 3 or the Unreal series, both on the PC. The shadows are great, as with the lighting, casting real life shadows on objects from wherever the light source is located. Riddick's "eyeshine" which enables him to see in the dark, is also a very great tool for going through dark vents or hallways, or for sneaking up on your enemy in the darkness.

Overall, this game will become either the best or one of the best xbox games ever created, and the still shocking thing is that it cam out of NOWHERE, no one could have predicted about how good this game is. If it is not in your xbox right now and you are playing it, buy it. I would pay $100 for this game anyday. This is my favorite game, a must buy.

A friend of mine went to E3 last week and he said the game was totally amazing. This game will be the second best game this year after Halo 2. Did you guys read that the game got nominated as the best game in four categories at E3, that says about everything. I'll preorder this game at once. You do too!

i just got it today and this game is my favorite xbox game sense halo like u read in my title this game the has the best graphics i have seen out of the xbox games i have played great combination of shooting and stealth and im so glad it is out.it will help be more patient for halo 2 i think this will sell alot but halo 2 should be the only that could beat in my mind but outside those i would buy gta san andreas if u have a ps2 these three are a must have . well till next time later

Butcher Bay took me by surprise . I thought to myself when I rented this game. Its gonna be another lame movie based game. BOY WAS I EVER WRONG. Chronicles Rocks!! Very clean graphics and smooth gameplay. It felt like I was actually beating the ,you know what ,out of my opponent. Not to mention the great FPS aspect. Are you afraid of the dark?

Better than Halo

you heard me this is better than halo. ive played and completed both this ones better. the graphics in this game are WAY better tgan the ones in halo. the soundtrack and voiceacting are better too. the weapons are more intresting. and overall this game is just a lot more fun to play. unlike most first person shooters this ones even got a good story in it too. the story is that riddick a hardened criminal antihero is trying to escape from a painful well guarded max security prizon called butcher bay. troughout the journey youll fight enemies from soldiers and aleins to rhinos and security guards and the execution couldnt have been pulled off better. the weapons are great from the UNBELIVABLE assault rifle to the shotgun to that futursitic lazer gun that you get later its just ridicously good your arsenal. The graphics are PHONOMIENAL! you cant even compare them to ps2 gamecube or any other xbox games graphics there simply in a class of their own. The sound design is a great combination of fantastic orchestral music. sound effects better than the ones in gears of war and very involving solid voiceacting. although theres no multiplayer options youll still be playing this one forevor. the best fps better than halo prove me wrong? you cant.

If there are a few people on here that dont like this game, dont listen to em. Every review I have read says that this game is one of the best ever made in the genre and it is!
Great story, great voice acting, and the best graphics I have ever seen.
At one point in the game you can fight other prisoners in a bare knuckles brawl and earn their respect and also money.
you can purchase things like shivs and clubs(sometimes ammo and body armor). If you have seen the movie pitch black, you may recognize "Johns" the bounty hunter who capured riddick in the beginning of the movie. He and his real voice (Cole Hauser) make an appearance, as well as Ron Perlman and Xzibit.

While the game lacks multiplayer, the single player is beefy enough that you don't really miss it. I honestly don't think multiplayer would work out on a game like this either.

In my opinion, this is one of the best games in the history of gaming, it uses NEW technology that no doubt will be copied by other companies soon. It is innovative and amazing looking, not to mention DEVILISHLY FUN!

Ok first id like to say this review is after playing a demo version. 10/10 Graphics- Bar none the best graphics ive ever seen on a console system and 80% of PC games. It will blow away any ps2 game that is out and will be out trust me on that. After playing this ull really b able to see why you bought your xbox in the 1st place. Vin deseal looks identical in this game.

Gamplay 9/10 gamplay is str8 up awesome. even with the enhensed graphics i see and feel no slow down at all in the frame rate. The whole game centers on you trying to escape from a prison. You can sneak up behind enemies and snap there necks. blow out lights to consele you approach. One complain i have abt that is i thought his character can see in the dark. So i wasnt able to really use this feature. Maybe you get that later since this was a demo.

AI is really good unlike most shooters where you can kill some1 really easy this you cant unless you are a wimp and have it on the easiest setting. If thats the case go buy a ps2 cause i dont think your ready for an xbox yet.

One thing i will say that some people wont like( hence parents of yourger kids) is the stong language like gta except i dont think they ever used the word motherf---ker

so basically i cant wait till this game drops in june even tho its like a week away. Its gonna be bad if you got the cash you should jump on this tyitle you wont regret it.

Great Prequel to a Great Movie Series

I just finished the game and only one word describes it: Extraordinary. Everything about this game blows the competition out of he water. It has a great story, wonderfully well written script, excellent voice acting, fluid controls, extraordinary graphics, and truly amazing game play. Vin Diesel lends his likeness and his extremely creepy voice to the game and it really makes the game a more enjoyable experience. The stealth parts and the gunplay parts of the game even surpass halo in someway. The visuals are incredible with great shadows and textures made even better by the great use of normal mapping and a lighting engine reminiscent of Splinter Cell. Sure some people may criticize the gunplay for its somewhat choppy feel but I really enjoined it and it made its game play stand out from other shooters. The only real problems with the game that I had were the that the graphics would sometimes turn rough and pixilated, also its relatively short length may prevent some people from buying it but the game is so good it requires multiple plays to fully enjoy it. This game definitely is the best movie game I have ever played and it really advances Riddicks character. This game is a definite must buy and I would recommend it to anyone.

I'm a fan of Riddick, so I would say that this game is great. Even though you only get 7-8 hours of gameplay, it is still an extraordinary pick-up. Excellent graphics, excellent playtime, excellent storyline, and enough side missions to extend your gameplay.
